I didn't want to say nuthin' at the time because that show was well received here and I didn't want to sound like a snob or a nasty old nicey-pants, but-- I turned it off and never went back during the first episode of the first season.

High school boy had slipped out of the house and climbed a tree or something to get into the room of the high school girl upstairs, where she was hanging out with her younger siblings. She had been introduced as a normal girl.

She goes right to the window and sneaks him in. I thought ARE YOU KIDDING? I'd have been TERRIFIED to let a boy into my very ROOM at that age. My parents would have KILLED me.

The show completely failed to live in a kid's mentality. Utterly missed an opportunity to create some tension and drama by being realistic instead of blase about ethics, or house rules at least. Lazy writing. Over and out.

55 A discussion from the last thread is giving me thoughts.

What if, instead of using tariff proceeds to bankroll vote-buying schemes, Trump did this instead:

Make an address to the nation. Explain in detail just how corrupt federal law enforcement. Announce that, with certain exceptions, Bondi has been ordered to remove the vast majority of them from active casework. They will now be paid to sit at their desks and do nothing, rather than doing harm.

And that the bounty of tariff monies will be used to fund a new department he's promulgated by diktat - the Department of Actual Justice. It can be pronounced just like DOGE, for convenience, and be headed up by a ruthless bastard of his choosing. Maybe even me.

It will deputize basically any non-felon who was born on US soil. They will be unpaid, but for bounties based on a schedule of crimes. Anyone who has or finds evidence of a crime can apply for a badge, and haul those motherfuckers in, and get PAID, bay-bee. There will be a bounty multiplier for immigrants.

Just go around DoJ. Crowdsource this shit.

Like him or hate him, he walked into a very similar and daunting predicament as Trump's, and that sumbitch prevailed over them all. It's going to take that kind of resolve to haul these chestnuts out of the fire.

154 The upcoming 2026 WNBA season will be the 30th season of the Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA).

The league will expand from 13 to 15 teams with the addition of the Portland Fire and Toronto Tempo. This follows the addition of the Golden State Valkyries in 2025

However, the current CBA is set to expire on January 9, 2026. On December 18th, the WNBPA announced that the union had authorized the executive committee to "call a strike when necessary" as players continue negotiations with the league over a new CBA.

If no agreement is reached, the league could face a delayed start to the 2026 season, or even a lockout.

I saw a video that purported to be that hit, from the ground, and I am not sure. The tanks exploding might have been gas tanks, but then again, it could have been solvent tanks for forming the fiberglass hulls of the boats cooking off.
It may have been the factory they made the hulls instead, which would be a bigger blow to the trade since the boats are 1-way trips for the hulls, by reports.

also, that sort of facility would be easier for a team to walk to and set off detonation charges.

209 I was always a little confused by how ardent the Dems' turgid passion for Somalis was. Why?, I thought.

It's not as if Muslims work, so they can't be used as wage slaves by the donors. And it's not as if there are enough of them to make a big difference in elections outside of Minneapolis, and they probably don't even vote much, because they are too lazy to do anything but steal, and most of them can't read a ballot, anyway. Good ol'-fashioned Somali learing, ya know.

But now it makes perfect sense. They were funneling shitloads of public money from other states into their campaign coffers through these retards. And if anyone said "boo," they could just say "das rayciss, go back to MAGA country, bigot."

Posted by: Diogenes at December 29, 2025 08:04 PM (2WIwB)

Sports announcers and political pundits and reporters are shameless front-runners.

Sports announcers are the worst. When a Long-Time Big Name Name gets hammered by an opponent, the announcers make all sorts of excuses for the Long-Time Big Name Team. How many times have you heard an announcer or the color guy say, near the end of a game, "Well, we must give credit to (the upstart or underdog team) for playing hard and taking advantage of the unexpected mistakes by (the Long-Time Big Name Team)?"

Political pundits and reporters will instantly go from saying candidate X is unbeatable to saying Candidate Y is now the inevitable winner, based on what they hear from loose-lipped staffers and a few 'reliable' pollsters. None of them want to be accused of being surprised the candidate they've been shamelessly touting is suddenly a sure loser.

Not all of them. That's why Minnesota made a law that a registered voter can "vouch" for up to 8 people on their legal status. That's it. No ID. No forms to fill out. Just one person saying these 8 people are legal to vote.

Bonus, Minnesota has election day registration. You can just show up on election day and vouch for the 8 people in your minivan and presto, 8 additional votes.

President Trump revealed on a radio show late last week that the US had “knocked out” a drug facility in Venezuela as the campaign against foreign drug cartels and the Maduro regime intensifies.

The strike on Wednesday comes days after Trump told reporters, “Soon we’ll be starting the same program on land. The land is much easier.”

Trump confirmed the strike on a “dock area where they load the boats up with drugs” while speaking to reporters on Monday.

Press reports in Venezuela indicated that in the early hours of December 24, there was a loud explosion at the Primazol company, located in the municipality of San Francisco, in the state of Zulia, on the border with Colombia.
According to Primazol's LinkedIn profile, the company is engaged in the “import, storage, sale, and distribution of high-quality, reliable chemical supplies, serving the needs of multiple industrial sectors: food and beverages, pharmaceuticals, adhesives and coatings, animal nutrition, personal and home care.”
