Sefton: sefton at cutjibnewsletter.com | YouTuber Exposes Another Huge Ring of Somali Pirate Fraud as Legacy "Journalists" Refuse to Investigate or Report Others' Investigations![]() From NottheBee's collection of Somali Pirate Memes Just endless cover-ups of enormous crime by the Insurgency Media. Vice President JD Vance is giving public credit to a YouTube journalist for doing what he says legacy media and elite institutions have failed to do: follow the money in Minnesota. In a post on X, Vance praised independent reporter Nick Shirley for digging into alleged fraud networks tied to the state, saying Shirley "has done far more useful journalism than any of the winners of the 2024 Pulitzer prizes." The comment was a direct response to a video Shirley shared online documenting what he described as widespread fraud, with Shirley claiming his team identified more than $110 million in suspicious activity in a single day while confronting facilities allegedly receiving millions in public funds. Shirley's reporting has been circulating widely among conservatives, with commentators amplifying clips of him visiting supposed daycare and education centers that appeared inactive despite receiving massive federal aid. Conservative media personality Benny Johnson said Shirley had exposed more than $100 million in Minnesota Somali-linked fraud routed through fake daycare and healthcare fronts, adding to the pressure on state leadership. The issue gained further traction after Tom Emmer, Minnesota's top House Republican, demanded answers from Gov. Tim Walz following a viral clip showing Shirley confronting workers at an alleged daycare in South Minneapolis. Shirley reported the center, called the "Quality Learning Center," showed no visible activity despite claims it served up to 99 children, and even misspelled "learning" on its signage. As Shirley approached, a woman inside was heard shouting "Don't open up," while incorrectly accusing him of being an ICE agent.
Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz is scrambling to defend his administration as a viral investigation has reignited questions about fraud inside the state's childcare funding system, putting renewed focus on oversight failures under Democrat leadership in St. Paul. The controversy exploded after independent journalist Nick Shirley released a 42-minute video Friday documenting visits to multiple daycare centers across Minnesota, including a Minneapolis location that appeared largely inactive despite reportedly receiving millions of taxpayer dollars. Walz's office responded to the footage by insisting the governor has long taken fraud seriously. A spokesperson told Fox News that Walz has spent years pressing lawmakers for expanded authority to crack down on abuse in state programs and has moved to strengthen oversight. According to the statement, the administration has launched investigations into specific facilities flagged in recent reporting, including at least one that has already been shut down. The spokesperson also pointed to broader steps Walz claims to have taken, including hiring an outside firm to audit payments to high-risk programs, terminating the Housing Stabilization Services program, appointing a statewide program integrity director, and backing criminal prosecutions tied to fraud cases. The governor's defense comes as Shirley's reporting continues to rack up millions of views online. One segment of the video centers on a daycare operating out of a building on Nicollet Avenue in Minneapolis, where Shirley and a colleague found no visible activity during a weekday visit. The facility's sign misspells its own name as "Quality Learing Center," despite records showing it was supposed to serve nearly 100 children and had received roughly $4 million in public funds. Speaking Sunday on Fox News' "The Big Weekend Show," Shirley said the red flags were impossible to miss. "It's so obvious that a kindergartner could figure out that there is fraud going on," he said, adding that some reporters may shy away from similar investigations out of fear of being branded "Islamophobic" or "racist." "Fraud is fraud," Shirley said. "We work too hard just to be paying taxes and enabling this to be happening." The backlash against Walz spread quickly over the weekend, with prominent conservatives amplifying the allegations. Vice President JD Vance praised Shirley's work, while Rep. Mike Lawler of New York, Donald Trump Jr., and Elon Musk also weighed in publicly. On Sunday, the White House reposted a message from Education Secretary Linda McMahon calling the alleged daycare fraud a "breathtaking failure" that occurred on Walz's watch.Kash Patel wants the pirates prosecuted and imprisoned -- and then denaturalized and ejected from our nation. Some of the manifold scams siphoning off California taxpayer money:
Employment Development Department (EDD) Fraud: The state's unemployment agency was hit by massive fraud during the pandemic, with estimates of total fraudulent payments ranging from an admitted $31 billion to as much as $55 billion. A December 2025 audit also found $4.6 million wasted on thousands of unused cell phones. Homelessness Funding: Since 2019, California has spent about $24 billion on homelessness initiatives, but a state auditor's report found that the state has not consistently tracked spending or the outcomes of these programs. In Los Angeles alone, an audit found that $2.3 billion in contracts were poorly tracked. Federal and local task forces have been formed to investigate potential fraud and corruption in homelessness funds across Southern California. High-Speed Rail Project: The high-speed rail project has spent approximately $18 billion in state and federal funds, but no operational track has been laid, and the project is over a decade behind schedule and significantly over budget. People going at looking at real estate projects in the mid-aughts, and seeing what they were and where and - perish the thought - *talking* to those involved exposed mortgage fraud at all levels.
But going and looking ain't what "journalists" do. They receive talking points from the Party, then repeat them. Retarded Tim Walz Calls Journalist Nick Shirley a “White Supremacist” for Reporting on Millions in Somali Daycare Fraud
That should be actionable. Governors aren't protected from Libel and Slander like Congress Members. Posted by: garrett at December 29, 2025 12:20 PM Walz didn't call Nick Shirley specifically a white supremacist. He used it in a general statement for all investigation into the fraud. Walz's comments appear to address the broader scrutiny of fraud allegations in general terms, framing some criticism as scapegoating tied to white supremacy. For instance: He reportedly said something along the lines of, “This is what happens when they scapegoat and this is what happens when they no longer hide the idea of white supremacy,” referring to investigations into the fraud. Really? Total immigration pause? Return to/enforcement of normal immigration policies as in Hart-Celler-minus? Not much room left on the "radical" scale - assuming Trump team gets serious about switching off the employment magnet, that is. "So in Ohio, and there's many states like this, Pennsylvania and other states too, where you can go in and you can say my aging parent needs a home health care and I want to provide it.
- You could sit at home without caring for an elderly parent who really doesn't need it, make about $75,000 to $90,000 a year. - Now you add 2 parents, that's $180,000 - Now you add your in-laws, $250,000 You continue to add this and you wonder what are the services being provided? So a lot of providers came and said fraud is occurring — Their home health care networks saying we'll make it worth your while. Well, sounds like a kickback to me. So we really need to investigate the Medicaid system and how much it's increased since the Somalian population came and who really needs critical care because that's meant for our disabled, our elderly and people who really need it not to just live off our system. And that's what's happening in Ohio. I think it's ridiculous. I think it's despicable." X video: https://bit.ly/4pYtSNb Posted by: Clyde Shelton at December 29, 2025 01:05 PM (P5BPp) 380

Extremely skeptical that much of the institutional GOP is "MAGA". Or will be. From fed to state level, some accommodation but rarely any serious commitment. Concrete accomplishments may replace fear as a motivation, which is fine, but Trump's singular role/nature/capabilities remain just that.
Posted by: rhomboid at December 29, 2025 01:01 PM (U/Byj) Yes. MAGA as a real movement ends in '28. It'll exist insofar as the GOP that immediately regresses to its mediocre mean will prance around in red trucker caps before going to their boy parties and sniffing coke with their Democrat pals, but that's it. Trump is, in every way, singular. The GOP will try to sell you his brand, but when you open the can, it'll just be full of piss. Memes are simply political rhetoric dressed up in modern terms. The delivery is different than for the ancient Greeks but Aristotle called it way back when. The essential truth is that the welfare state is run for and by grifters that defraud the taxpayers by relying on misplaced sympathy. So any welfare queen, massive wealth increases by Congress critters in office, Somali fraud, etc. produce excellent subjects for the right to meme. It is political rhetoric disguised by amusing, disgusting, and enlightening the watchers/readers using clever imagery and bumpersticker phrases.
And as Aristotle says, the best rhetoric is that which is essentially true. That is why the left cannot meme to save its ass. They live in a world of lies and fantasies and are bewildered by their own propaganda. Posted by: whig at December 29, 2025 01:02 PM (WDjG6) Always informative and whip smart. I say that the GOP has simply changed from the mid-level down to such a degree that MAGA is here to stay for at least a generation. It's even changed enough at the highest levels to ensure it keeps going for a while there (seriously, Thune is such a massive upgrade over McConnell it's kind of crazy).
Posted by: TheJamesMadison ======= I think the comms and internet have essentially pulled back the curtains on the show that ruling elite types have used to get filthy rich by pulling levers in governments. McConnell is a perfect example of someone who attained generational weath by peddling his ass and caucus to enemies of the Republic like China. Likewise his cronies that he recruited from among our business class and permanent political types. Schumer, ironically, is getting the same treatment from the left now as they want his old corrupt corpse out so the new grifters of color can assume office for generational wealth. The Dems and the remaining old Guard of GOPe are the ones with the mass media hypnosis problem, MAGA is not which is why populism is likely to win in the long run. The U.S. federal government allocated roughly $4.6 trillion across six major COVID-19 relief bills from 2020-2021, covering direct aid, business support (like PPP), health funding, and economic stimulus, with most funds obligated by early 2023 to tackle the pandemic's fallout, though a small portion remained available for spending. Key Relief Laws & Major Allocations (Examples): CARES Act (March 2020): The first major package, including stimulus checks, enhanced unemployment, and PPP loans. (PDT) Consolidated Appropriations Act, 2021 (Dec 2020): Extended some aid, added more business relief. (PDT) American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) (March 2021): A massive $1.9 trillion package for vaccines, state/local aid, child tax credits, etc. (Biden) BTW, the House used proxy voting extensively during the COVID-19 pandemic, including for legislation like the American Rescue Plan (ARP), allowing members to designate others to cast their votes remotely to avoid in-person risks, a rule change implemented in May 2020 that allowed for significant remote participation during the 117th Congress, including ARP's passage in early 2021. I guess that's why no students were found in the schools; too much risk for exposure. Posted by: AnonyBotymousDrivel at December 29, 2025 01:20 PM (gLikB) 449

(like anyone actually bought 6 or 7 thousand cell phones) Posted by: man at December 29, 2025 12:42 PM (XuXeR) Actually, there's a moderately-sized market for used, outdated cellphones. They get cleaned and refurbished for use overseas in shit-hole countries that no one with any sense would deal with if they didn't pay in advance. I get calls/emails from the brokers all the time, since I'm in telecom. Posted by: IllTemperedCur at December 29, 2025 01:23 PM (y9nCu) 453

Fraud wouldn't be happening if it were punished.

Speaking of PA, remember Dr. Gosnell? The state never inspected his house of horrors once. Too political. Who gave that order? Posted by: Random PJ at December 29, 2025 01:25 PM (RRCAT) 457
I'm not leaving my state. I love this place even if the politicians suck. They can kiss my ass, I will never stop trying to beat them.
Posted by: JackStraw at December 29, 2025 01:15 PM (viF8m I don't blame any older person for this outlook, since hope springs eternal, and they will probably pass away before the really nightmarish stuff unfolds. But for younger people, particularly with kids, this is a dangerous and foolhardy attitude. The odds of us "beating them" before they unleash Hell are so low as to approach zero. If you're in enemy territory, pick a spot in friendly territory where you think survivability is highest, and bolt like a scared rabbit. Posted by: Random PJ The consensus from the grand jury was that government negligence and bureaucratic indifference. For many years, officials concluded that regular inspections would be a "barrier up to women seeking abortions," effectively prioritizing access over enforcement of existing safety laws. Even after complaints were received, including a patient death in 2009, officials failed to investigate. A 2011 grand jury report concluded that the Pennsylvania Department of Health stopped inspecting abortion clinics "for political reasons" starting in the mid-1990s, which allowed Kermit Gosnell's "house of horrors" clinic to operate for years without oversight. But you know that so what's your f*cking point? Hit a nerve you and/or your Democratic family have had hands in the till in PA? I say that the GOP has simply changed from the mid-level down to such a degree that MAGA is here to stay for at least a generation. It's even changed enough at the highest levels to ensure it keeps going for a while there (seriously, Thune is such a massive upgrade over McConnell it's kind of crazy).
Posted by: TheJamesMadison, seeing life through the shadows with Otto Preminger at December 29, 2025 12:55 PM I'll believe it when I see it. I don't believe there is a MAGA coalition. There is a Trump coalition. People are not supporting MAGA or Republicans, they are supporting Trump. (Similar, in my opinion, to TPUSA. Where people were supporting Charlie Kirk, not TPUSA.) Recall all the people praising Nikki Haley during Trump's first term and getting all excited that she could be a potential Presidential candidate one day. Turns out she was never MAGA or conservative, but just following orders while serving for Trump 45 Administration. No one has any idea who among MAGA is just riding Trump's coattails like Nikki Haley and who is actually MAGA like Trump. We'll all find out over the next 3 years. Dummy me taking care of my dad for free. (not really, dad did not need a huge amount of care and my job at the time was WFH, and if I had taken an almost two year hiatus to care for dad for less money my job would have gone away)
I'm sure a program like this can be a godsend for someone who just works retail and has to either stay at home to care for a relative or put them in a nursing home. But for a population with no morals nice grift while it lasts. Posted by: PaleRider at December 29, 2025 02:34 PM (4EWFf) Processing 0.07, elapsed 0.0855 seconds. |
