Now maybe Gemini and Grok will be able to find this.

  • Did Qualcomm strangle Arduino by changing its terms of use after the acquisition?

Yes says competitor Adafruit. No says Qualcomm. (The New Stack)

Well that's to be expected. How about a neutral and trustworthy third party?

    No says the EFF.

    Does that settle things?

Given how long the article is, I'd say it doesn't. While the hardware is nominally still open, users are pushed heavily toward cloud services that are not open in any sense of the word.

Notsothoreau, those FreeGeek computers look pretty good. The low state (74% or so) of battery charge on the listings I looked at is a little concerning, and they don't offer any warranty or tech support. I need to decide if I want to go to Owensboro, KY -- which I liked, but the house listings I see are not exciting to me -- or check out Terre Haute, which does have houses I like a lot. I could, of course, just take a furnished apartment in Evansville, about halfway between the two, and look around while I'm on the ground.

They're not only located in Texas, Fen, though they may have started there. They're a Western wear store with boots (Hannity used to advertise for them) and other clothing. I need a second pair of boots. I've looked at the three Western stores here in town and don't see any models I like that I can afford. So, if I have to pay through my nose and ears, I want to get something I *really* like. They may have "last call" or clearance items as well.

93 So you decide to put stuff into a storage unit.
You consider what it costs per month.
You estimate how long it will be there and calculate the total.
Then you estimate how much it would cost to replace that stuff with new versions of the same stuff.
Are you saving any money?

The exception of course is irreplaceable heirlooms and artifacts.

Based on anecdotal evidence of the number of storage unit business you see driving around just about anywhere lots of people must think it's worth it.

A good paraphrase of the original quote. Didn't like the overall nihilistic message of Fight Club but it did have some good points.

Did you get about 20 lbs of chocolate from the kids and parents as well? It is so sweet of them and I am truly grateful but we dont need 20 lbs of chocolate. It's very sweet of them to remember the school bus driver but gift cards would have been more practical .

108 So you decide to put stuff into a storage unit.

There is psychology at work here.

Yes says competitor Adafruit. No says Qualcomm. (The New Stack)

Well that's to be expected.

I'm not against the idea. But there are few listings on Realtor in even my bumped-up my price range for Salina; and property taxes seem higher in KS than in southern IN and NW KY.

It remains to be seen.
It was a bit intimidating.
He's used to a good old fashioned computer with a good old fashioned keyboard and a good old fashioned mouse.
He's never had a smart phone so not experienced in things like pinch and zoom. Never used a keyboard that pops up on demand. Tiny little buttons are hard to hit exactly because a fingertip is only so accurate.
Will drop off some of those rubber tipped stylus pens today. That may help.

Most tablets will take a keyboard over its USB-C port, but that would preclude charging at the same time unless you get a dock. Bluetooth wireless keyboards are probably the "right" choice for most tablet users

There are two full RV hookups on the site. One could generate some extra income renting them out. I'm sure you don't want the hassle though, I wouldn't.

133 @103/FenelonSpoke:

I got some chocolate, yes. And some gift cards.

Very nice of them. The gift cards are usually to Tim Hortons, and although that chain has gone downhill, their breakfast sandwiches are solid (if expensive) so I'll use them for that.
