THE MORNING RANT: Buck Shots – December 29, 2025

Elon Musk and Tesla Replacing Goal of “Sustainability” with “Amazing Abundance”

The elimination of reliable, carbon-based energy has been one of the globalist left’s weapons in its effort to quash liberty and reorder society. Prior to Elon Musk’s turn to the right, he and Tesla were party to this agenda. To this day, on the “About Us” page of Tesla’s website, it states that Tesla’s mission is: “Accelerating the World's Transition to Sustainable Energy.”

With Musk’s embrace of freedom and prosperity, he has apparently come to realize that a call for “sustainability” is actually a call for the suppression of freedom and opportunity. A few days ago, Mr. Musk tweeted out a rather significant change in Tesla’s mission statement, eliminating the word “sustainable” and instead embracing “amazing abundance.”

“Sustainability” was always a part of the climate hoax. While solar power and battery storage will be necessary for Elon’s planned colonization of Mars, he cannot break the bounds of Earth’s atmosphere without carbon fuels. His abandonment of “sustainability” as a corporate objective is another important milestone as the climate panic recedes.

Donald Trump’s War on Unreliable Energy

Promoting coal, encouraging oil drilling, and stopping the net zero / green energy insanity is just about the most conservative thing a Republican president could do. (Along with securing the border.) It’s almost comical that the Never Trumpers are still shrieking that Trump is not a conservative, even as we read headlines like this:

“Trump administration halts offshore wind projects from Virginia to New England, in major blow to clean power” [Politico – 12/22/2025]

I voted for this.

*****

The Climate Hoax

Speaking of the climate hoax, parts of Canada are experiencing extreme cold temperatures not seen in decades. According to the high priests of the Sustainable Organic Church of the Carbon Apocalypse, this is due to global warming.

Meanwhile, there was a white Christmas in Saudi Arabia!

Saudi Camels in Snow.png

“Saudi Arabia Sees Rare Snowfall After 30 Years, Desert Mountains Turn into Winter Wonderland”

From snow capped peaks to desert plains dusted in white, the Kingdom experienced a weather event that many had only imagined.

*****

Climate Change is not Gender Neutral

With climate prophet Greta Thunberg now wearing a keffiyeh and celebrating the October 7 murder of Jews, it’s hard for the climate hustlers to make themselves appear any more comical. But they are creative. The UN is pushing the climate hoax from yet another angle, by stating that “climate change” is not gender neutral.

Climate change is deepening inequalities – and increasing the risk of gender-based violence for women and girls. On the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, let’s act #ForAllWomenAndGirls and build a safer, more climate-resilient future.”

Since climate and gender are apparently linked, it’s probably about time to put a climate stripe/chevron on the multi-colored national banner of the left.

The Republic of Alberta

The Republic of Alberta is drawing closer.

“Proposed referendum question on separation from Canada approved by Elections Alberta”

The Alberta Prosperity Project, which is pressing for secession, now has four months to gather 178,000 signatures, and if successful, the following question will be put to the vote in the conservative, energy-rich province. "Do you agree that the province of Alberta should cease to be a part of Canada to become an independent state?"

Under Canada’s long run of liberal governance, it has become a self-loathing country whose leadership openly rejects the legitimacy of Canada as a nation, being that it is “stolen land.” One of the selling points for Alberta independence is that this would preserve at least a part of what Canada once was, before the country started its current regrettable trajectory.

When Self-Driving Vehicles’ Ability to Drive Gets Unplugged

Airplane unplugged electric cord.png

Possessing a vehicle that I can drive anytime and to most anywhere in this country is an important aspect of liberty to me. While I have certainly had to use Uber-type services, I also understand that there is the possibility that there may not be a ride when I need one, and that is unsettling.

This is even more unsettling, as Waymos simply stopped driving during a recent power outage.

“San Francisco power outage left 130,000 in the dark as self-driving cars stalled in middle of streets” [NY Post – 12/20/2025]

The company shut down its operation at around 8 p.m. because the cars were unable to operate without traffic signals. Residents shared footage of the Waymo vehicles parked with their hazards flashing. At least four Waymo vehicles were parked in the middle of an intersection with their hazards on, creating a large traffic jam at the busy intersection in the North Beach neighborhood.

I remain a skeptical of self-driving cars, and I do not want to trust my liberty to anyone who can immobilize me by turning off the electricity.

15 Self-driving cars ... what exactly do they improve over human drivers?

In all other cases of automation, the result is an improved experience for the user. Robotic manufacturing and logistics is quicker, more precise, can handle much larger and more complicated tasks, and able to work 24/7 for better efficiency.

But what is the improvement for a passenger in a robocar? The car still has to obey speed limits and traffic laws, so the passenger won't get where he's going any faster or easier. Cabs and Ubers already operate 24/7 (albeit swapping out drivers), so it's not like there's any less downtime with a robocar.

This seems like a VC-driven solution in search of a problem.

So the idea that there's this big market out there for people who don't want to use Uber-like services, but who do want to be driven around in their own cars by a robot, seems ... incorrect to me.

Do that and see what wins. It ain't gonna be wind and solar. It could be coal, but might be nuclear or gas. Who knows. I don't, and neither does the state.

I think that is coming in all cars in the future, not just self-driving ones. It will start -- as it always does -- with low-hanging fruit that's already proven to be a very successful camel-nose-in-the-tent: drunk driving.

There is already proposed legislation that would require cars to have built-in breathalyzers. It will be a very short jump from that to remote disabling of your car for dozens of reasons. Most cars have it now. Built-in connectivity is usually two-way. It depends on manufacturer, but I'd assume it's the norm.

But it's also pretty easy to defeat if you want to. Cars are pretty dense and radio has trouble getting in, which is why antennae are external. Unplug the cellular antenna and bye-bye connectivity. Also bye-bye "over-the-air" updates and, possibly, your warranty.

143 >>Agreed, but if I can take my car out where I want to go and hand the driving off to a robot, I get the best of both worlds.

The only way I see self-driving truly working is if it's all/nothing. A car that is programmed to follow all the rules of the road mixed in w/individuals driving unpredictably (following some, but not all rules; each one varying its practices) will bog down things.

150 Same. I don't like to be driven, whether it's in someone else's car or the backseat of an Uber. And the people I know who have the money to buy very advanced self-driving cars use the self-drive mode for a few weeks, then get bored with it and go back to driving themselves.

So the idea that there's this big market out there for people who don't want to use Uber-like services, but who do want to be driven around in their own cars by a robot, seems ... incorrect to me.

I stand by my comment above that this is a solution in search of a problem.

I am the same. And of the same opinion that most people (at least Gen-X and older) don't really want this.

That said, I don't think we can say the same for the lazy younger generations who are just fine with sitting at home and having food delivered through Uber Eats and Door Dash, etc. I think the younger generations would be interested in yet another technology that allows them to be lazy.

That that said, as you stated, Uber services would probably be the prime choice for people like this instead of owning a vehicle themselves.

153 Wind turbines...

The largest one in the world, naturally built by China, was put off shore earlier this year. It was shut down after only a couple months of operation.

Why? Well it's not because spinning the turbine is cheap and anything produced after that fact is going to cost more than spinning the blades.

It was creating it's own micro-climate that was detrimental to the local farms and fisheries. So imagine what an entire "farm" of these things is doing to the surrounding area.

Yet, the enviroweenies seem disinterested in this phenomenon.

Then something utterly shocking happened
My wife’s boyfriend Arnold got him the PlayStation my son wanted
“Thank you uncle Arnold” my son hugged him for almost a minute
I pulled my wife aside and explained that her lover is undermining our values
She mumbled “at least he got him a real gift”
The morning after, while my son was still asleep, I took his console and went to the store
Thanks to the wonderful EU consumer protection law, I was able to get a full cash refund of €549
Then I bought a gift for my son that he truly deserves
€549 worth of carbon offset credits
When I came home my son was crying looking for his PS5
I smiled and showed him the carbon certificate
He started shaking and cried even more

They're all profiting from this scam, or one like it, too.

One of the things that's so fascinating about this phase of our history is how America's class system developed, because it's pretty nontraditional. It's not strictly or even mostly hereditary, or even economic, at least not in the traditional sense of economics.

The institutional elite power players and the scum of the gutter have formed a powerful ruling class alliance against the productive subject classes.

So, for instance, Elon Musk is the richest man on earth, but occupies a lower social position with considerably less power and fewer rights than a mid-level DoJ bureaucrat or a literally retarded criminal from a cousin-fucking African hellhole, because he refused to join their club.

It's just Them vs. Us. A straight-up kleptocracy.

Does "substance use" include prescription drugs like ADHD medication and anti-depressants?

Quick check of Grok:

Legitimate antidepressant prescribing among U.S. adolescents and young adults has increased substantially in recent years (up ~66% from 2016-2022, accelerating post-2020, especially among females), reflecting higher reported mental health needs.

Grok full answer: https://bit.ly/497OU65

So U.S. teens are not drinking or using drugs as often as before, but they are drugged up on anti-depressants. Probably, as you said, because they are depressed from spending all their time alone on social media.

NEOM is a planned megacity and economic zone in northwest Saudi Arabia, announced in 2017 by Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman as a cornerstone of Saudi Vision 2030. Spanning about 26,500 square kilometers (roughly the size of Belgium) along the Red Sea and Gulf of Aqaba, it aims to diversify the kingdom's oil-dependent economy through innovation, sustainability, and tourism. Powered by 100% renewable energy, it features a car-free, zero-carbon design with advanced AI and robotics. Key regions include: [ ... ]

Internal audits revealed issues like manipulated projections and unrealistic assumptions. Human rights concerns include forced evictions of Bedouin tribes and poor worker conditions. Saudi officials deny major scaling back, calling reviews standard for multi-generational projects, while shifting focus to AI and returns on investment.

NEOM remains a bold symbol of ambition, with some elements advancing amid broader recalibration. Construction continues selectively, but the full futuristic vision appears deferred.

I personally would like to see Alberta as a new Dominion, like Newfoundland before it went bankrupt.
