This is wild! If you had told me that this work was from the Magic Realism school and was painted in the 1930s, I would have bought it!

The painter's penchant for original and descriptive narrative detail appears in the treatment of the desert landscape and its fauna (symbols of the saint's temptations) beneath the luminous sky at dusk. A pot of gold in the lower left corner (which has been scraped away) symbolized the seductive worldly goods that the stalwart saint resists. 97 I'm shocked this painting is from the 1400s. The style of the landscape makes me think of mid-20th century: minimalist and rather abstract. Then you get to the figure of Saint Anthony. The faces isn't wooden as I've seen in other art from that period. It shows emotion, contemplation. His posture reinforces that sense. Everything is still and stark except for his figure. The only points of brilliant color are the halo and his staff making a frame for his face and hands. Knowing the story of Anthony's temptation, which the viewers likely did, would make the image even more effective.

122 The pigments and media that fix them in place can deteriorate over time, especially in hot, humid conditions. Six centuries is a long time and I suspect that a section of a painting that was once blue can turn to mud if the work is exposed to the elements.

Closest one to me is 20 mi away at stone mountain. Once long ago my wife and I were driving across the country and stopped in some little city along the way with a bunch of fast food. As we were driving down the strip looking for a place my wife suddenly blurted out long johns silvers and I made a very hard right turn because we were right by it. A second later a dump truck ran through a red light and smashed over the cars in my lane. Bad accident. It would have definitely been us. So for good luck whenever we are traveling and see a long john's we stop.

He did it specifically because Ben Shapiro named him, as someone Megan Kelly should denounce and deplatform.

And many people were calling for TPUSA to deplatform him, to not let him speak at the event, even though Charlie Kirk specifically told Tucker to go hard, to not go easy on his critics.

This is a fight between the Israel lobby and Tucker (and Candace).

Shapiro has a speaking platform just like a lot of talking heads and that's the only difference between them and a blog and blog commentators.

318 Just had a lovely experience . Was over at the church with FenSpouse decorating for Christmas . Some foolish person ( raising my hand) forgot the make sure that the door was completely locked and a young couple came in. They are visiting our town for the holiday and were sightseeing They have family or friends here but live in Panama. They sound like the might be free Eastern Europeanoriginally. I think they might be RC since those churches are open for much of the day for Mass and prayer. Anyway, I did invite them back to our carol and candlelight service.

And thanks , God , that nobody broke in overnight to take anything from us.
