Australian PM: In Aftermath of Two ISIS-Connected Pakistanis Shooting Up Hannukah Celebration, We Now Turn to the Real Threat, "Right Wing Extremist Groups" and Guns In the Hands of Native Australians

Of course.

The only problematic thing about the latest Muslim slaughter of non-Muslims is the claim that Muslim violence will lead to anti-Muslim backlash.

Many point out that while Australia banned a tennis player from entering the country -- because he wouldn't take the clot shot -- they let in Known Wolf terrorists in no problem.

Not an immediate threat, Australian "anti-terror" police decided.

As more information is revealed about the terrorists, the police have confirmed that Naveed was known to the Australian security services for his connections to ISIS, but they did not believe he posed an immediate threat. Reports indicate he and his father were radicalized at their mosque, the Al-Murad Islamic center in Sydney. The police also found explosives in their vehicle and an ISIS flag.

Some reporters pushed back:

84 Back in the 1980s the wife and I were looking at retiring in Australia. They offered an expedited *green card* process for Americans with prior military service. Their economy was good and our retired navy insurance would have worked fine in any of the big cities.

259 It’s cold. Make some nourishing food to keep your stomach full and keep your body fighting creepy crud as best as possible. Tonight is quicker than normal beef stew.

1 25 pounds of Sirloin beef tips (I use grass fed, organic but you use whatever you enjoy. Just not stew meat because this won’t simmer all day)

Jumbo yellow onion cut into 8ths

Baby carrots 3/4 package because I ate the rest (I had rainbow ones in the fridge. That is what I used.)

3 large sweet potatoes peeled and cut into chunks (technical, I know)

32 ounces vegetable broth (I use Kettle and Fire)

1 cup water

Salt, pepper, garlic, parsley, paprika, oregano, thyme, rosemary - I don’t measure, so do this to taste. Probably a little more than a teaspoon of each except salt and pepper to taste and more like a tablespoon of paprika.

Brown meat in tablespoons of oil. Season with salt and pepper. Remove from pan. Brown carrots and onions, about 5 mins. Add vegetable broth, deglaze, add cup of water, add spices, add meat back in, cover and simmer. It can be finished in as little at 20 mins, if you want it that fast, add your sweet potatoes right away. If not, add them about 20 mins before you want to serve.

I get the impression that most Aussies are a lot more individualist than your average Canadian or Brit.

They still have the frontier spirit in a lot of ways.
And they certainly enjoy American culture and aren't nearly as obnoxiously Anti-American as so many Canadians and Brits.

Oz is my favorite Anglosphere country.

I've always enjoyed learning more about the country and have hopes to visit one day.

I watched some Outback Truckers last week for the first time in years and was reminded how much a lot of these guys driving these trucks would be just like an American trucker if it weren't for the accents and driving on the wrong side of the road.

One of them, 'Turbo', even wore a cowboy hat and had a huge American flag with an eagle on it on his bicep.

I saw a 10-minute video that was taken from the vantage point of directly across the street from the bridge. The shooters were in direct sight almost the entire time except when the second one was down on the sidewalk. Any American could have taken them out. When the police finally arrived, I was shocked at how many of them were women. The reason for the lack of quick action immediately became obvious to me. It was mayhem on the bridge by that time and those glorified meter maids were of absolutely no use in trying to control the situation.

Still a very cool country and worth a visit but historically both Canada and Australia stayed closer to the UK than the US after the unpleasantness when we kicked their ass out. The government structure is a lot more like the UK than the US and it trickles down.
