Sefton: sefton at cutjibnewsletter.com | Four Years Too Late, The New York Times Admits That Biden Pursued a Reckless Policy of Unlimited Illegal Immigration -- But Only In Service of New Narrative That Only Biden Favored Open Borders While the Rest of the Democrat Party Opposed ItBig Brother is rewriting history and deleting old files and airbrushing old photos as we watch them do it. Kind of a pattern with the propaganda media, isn't it? Admitting the Democrats were wrong -- lied, actually -- about covid and Biden's cognitive fitness and now open borders. And then creating a new narrative absolving all Democrats of those lies going forward.See, his "top advisors" -- who can be taken to represent the real Democrat Party -- warned him not to throw open the borders and plunge the country into "chaos," but Biden -- and only Biden -- was determined to impose an open borders policy on the Democrats who heroically resisted this folly. In the weeks after Joseph R. Biden Jr. was elected president, advisers delivered a warning: His approach to immigration could prove disastrous. Mr. Biden had pledged to treat unauthorized immigrants more humanely than President Donald J. Trump, who generated widespread backlash by separating migrant children from their parents. But Mr. Biden was now president-elect, and his positions threatened to drastically increase border crossings, experts advising his transition team warned in a Zoom briefing in the final weeks of 2020, according to people with direct knowledge of that briefing. That jump, they said, could provoke a political crisis. "Chaos" was the word the advisers had used in a memo during the campaign. They offered a range of options to avert that crisis, by better deterring migrants. Mr. Biden seemed to grasp the risk. But he and his top aides failed to act on those recommendations. The warnings came true, and then some. After Mr. Biden became president, migrant encounters at the southern border quickly doubled, then kept rising. New arrivals overwhelmed border stations, then border towns, and eventually major cities like New York and Denver. Anger over illegal migration helped return Mr. Trump to the presidency, and he has enacted even more aggressive policies than those Mr. Biden first campaigned against. Mr. Trump has drawn outrage from Democrats by sending masked agents to target immigrants, often aided by National Guard soldiers. Biden did All the Bad Things, you guys, single-handedly. Biden was the only thing wrong with the Democrat Party. Now that he's out, the Democrat Party is Perfect Again (TM). Walter Kirn summed this effort up as the Democrats "trying to establish a new encyclopedia entry" on this chapter of political history so that future voters will only be able to read this version of events. ... But a New York Times examination of Mr. Biden's record found that he and his closest advisers repeatedly rebuffed recommendations that could have addressed the border crisis faster, and eased what became a potent issue for Mr. Trump as he sought to return to the White House and justify the aggressive tactics roiling American cities today. Former Biden administration officials told The Times that Mr. Biden and his circle of close confidants -- including Ron Klain, who was chief of staff during the president's first two years, Mike Donilon, Jennifer O'Malley Dillon and Anita Dunn -- made two crucial errors. First, they underestimated the scale of migration that was coming. Second, they failed to appreciate the political reaction to that migration -- believing that stronger enforcement would alienate Latino and progressive voters, and also that a border surge would not be an important issue to most voters. Those calculations would later prove to be mistaken, with many voters, including Latinos, citing immigration as a reason for supporting Mr. Trump in 2024. "Everybody was reacting to the excesses of the Trump administration," said Cecilia Muñoz, who helped shape immigration policy in the Obama administration and oversaw domestic and economic policy for the Biden transition team.Of course -- it wasn't the Democrats' fault, it was Trump's. Biden only embraced open borders Because Trump. This wasn't the Democrat Party position or anything. Except... that in the Democrat primary presidential debate of 2016, scheduled by Hillary Clinton for Christmas Eve so that no one could see it, both Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders (formerly in favor of border control) vowed that no illegal aliens -- not one -- would be deported under their would-be presidencies. Think about this:
The leftists in all of the western countries have been doing two interrelated things for several years, if not decades. 1. Trying their hardest to emasculate men, decrying toxic masculinity, deriding those who want to serve their country (unless they are a cross dresser), insisting that women are girl bosses and that men are irrelevant, and doping boys to prevent them from behaving like boys. 2. Importing as fast as they are able a large population of military age men from countries where women are seen as property and free for the taking, and using police powers to ensure that these men are not punished for whatever they do. I think it is pretty obvious what their plan is. Posted by: Thomas Paine at December 12, 2025 04:45 PM (0U5gm) 58

It's at least plausible that Democrats believed throwing open the gates the third world would lock in the hispanic vote. As Universalists, it would never occur to them to go out and discuss the question with actual hispanics. As an aside, that rationale shows how transactional the Dems view their relationship with blacks - if hispanics outnumber blacks, the Dems will not hesitate to adopt policies favoring the former at the expense of the latter.

What do you think about this idea I've been mulling over: The "Positivist fallacy". Posted by: Axeman ===== Eh, I am frankly rusty on epistemology as I haven't taught methods course in a long while. But positivism is closely aligned with the age of Reason and materialism and subject to the same limits. Our reasoning ability is always less than perfect because we are meat puppets and we will never have omniscience. That goes for AI as it is a human tool, not sentient so far, and thus subject to the limits of its makers in reasoning and knowledge. That being said, I was always a pragmatist and probabilistic type of empiricist. Same as the old paradox of Q: Who shaved the Spanish Barber--A: follow him around and find out. There are always propositions not amenable to empirical analysis (and thus positivist tests) due to bad data, impossible to prove or disprove, etc. But some are to a degree. Librarian: We are confused again here today. This is embarrassing. It's embarrassing to misplace things. Jonathan E.: Misplaced some data? Librarian: Hmmm. [looks at a computer punch card] Librarian: The whole of the 13th century. Misplaced the computers, several conventional computers. We can't find them. We're always moving things around, getting organized, my assistants and I. This - this is Zero's fault - Zero, he's the world's file cabinet. Pity, poor old 13th century. [pause] Librarian: Well, come along now, you want to get started, don't you? Jonathan E.: Yes, sir. Librarian: [takes Jonathan's coat and hat and puts them aside before they go to the room with Zero in it] This way! Now, we've lost those computers with all of the 13th century in them. Not much in the century, just Dante and a few corrupt Popes, but it's so distracting and annoying! Posted by: Axeman ===== At some point, as an empiricist, you have to turn away from edge cases. Interesting from a philosophical viewpoint like whether we are in a simulated universe or inside a black hole but I have enough to chew on day to day without worrying about the infinite. Popper was an interesting case as he was a bridge from the older Age of Reason cult to the newer problems that came from areas of study that rely upon really bad data--sociology, history, political science, and even economics. Never was particularly relevant in theology, cosmology, or other fields, perhaps even quantum mechanics, where we simply cannot positively prove or disprove our theories. The observational equivalence problem also appears as you would find in studies of relativity. Simply put, our frame of reference determines our reality. Posted by: Biff Pocoroba at December 12, 2025 05:10 PM (XvL8K) --- That's because you cannot derive a moral code from the particulars of instances of moralizing behavior. "Popper's" writing on intolerant tolerance apparently consists of TWO footnotes in his writing. Thus it is mainly people taking crude notions of Popper and running with it. Definitely either Popper did not foresee (or he simply can be ignored) people moving the "intolerance" goalposts to being increasingly intolerant of viewpoints on the basis of arguing that some other viewpoint is "intolerant". It means the NEED for a Leader to follow is a weakness to overcome. There is only on thing that shapes history just as it shapes the course of each Individual's lives -- the power of IDEAS. That good ones replace the bad ones, and those at the root of it be held to pay the ultimate prices. That any compromise between food and poison can result in nought but death. That the only thing necessary for Evil to prosper is for good men to do absolutely nothing. Why? Because the truely evil are abetted by the Venal and the WEAK. period. LIBS believe they can fake History and Reality just as they would fake reality (and factually did) of IceKingJOE. I think the cut off age for boomers needs to be lowered. If you know any late boomers they are usually nothing like the early ones. While I'm thinking about it, any polices, laws, and general fuckups that helped screw this country were put in place by the the silent generation and the so called greatest generation. Boomers were too young to hold office when that shit was brewing. Well, not unless a 15 year old was able to vote to get us into vietnam. Biden, pelosi, the turtle, and all before them were not boomers.

Berserker-Dragonheads, that is why some have come up with “Generation Jones”. My dad would, by this reckoning, be at the tail end of the Boomers, and my mom would be at the beginning of Jones. My dad was old enough to have seen the last vestiges of anti-Vietnam protests, on top of the other leftist college insanity. My mom never experienced any of that. They were only born 30 months apart.
