Over last 7 or 8 years if they were playing anywhere close to me, meaning 500 miles, I was in the car to see them. One of the greatest two nights was seeing them at Gruene Hall in New Braunfauls, TX over a New Year's weekend, they were on fire. Tucson during covid was off the charts. My all time favorite show as at the Sandia Casino Amphitheatre in Albuquerque, NM - that show was a peak night - 4K people dancing the night way all night long through a thunder storm at times. Another time he showed up at the Las Cruces 4th of July show and did a solo set; it was there I came to understand why that band was beyond great. The last show I was to see was at the Santa Fe Opera house this September, at the last minute it was canceled; then I found out why and I have say part of my heart broke when I heard why.

This was one of their standard show closers or the encore. They dragged out it and played it the max - after 8 bars, without fail the audience went wild. That bounce beat was wicked and it all came right out of Raul's soul.

As I remember my best ever day was 3 sets of 7 reps with 225. However that was 20 years ago. The last time I tried it was a struggle to get one rep with 135. That used to be my easy warm up weight. Sigh. Old age tears us all down.

Today I watched my boarder, with potential heart problems, loaded into an ambulance on a stretcher . He needed help walking to the stretcher. He used to be able to power clean 265, and do Kip Ups. 4th degree black belt in BJJ - former Texas heavyweight Judo champion.
