Rush Limbaugh's Thanksgiving Day Story

Via amuse's substack, Rush Limbaugh had written about the first Thanksgiving in one of his books and sometimes read the passage aloud before the holiday.

This, dear reader, is the real story of Thanksgiving. It wasn't just a meal shared with Native Americans--though they did indeed feast together, celebrating the bounty of their harvest. No, the true reason for giving thanks was far greater: the Pilgrims gave thanks to God for guiding them to the principles that allowed them to survive and then thrive--the principles of hard work, private property, and individual liberty. It wasn't socialism that saved them; it was capitalism. It was the power of personal responsibility and the freedom to reap the fruits of one's own labor that turned near-starvation into abundance.

Below, two clips of Limbaugh talking about this. The first clip is shorter -- about eight minutes -- and the second clip is longer -- about 33 minutes. Your choice!

The latter clip is the last time Rush addressed this before he died.

Seems like the only way they can do that is to demand payment up front. Once the good or service has been rendered, the debt is incurred and they can not refuse legal tender for settlement of it.

His predecessor Michael Eisner paved the way by pissing off enough stockholders. Iger went on a buying spree which is dragging Disney down via debt and declining earnings per share.

Disney needs to shed dying cable and broadcast properties to invest in their better performing properties while they still have some value left but yet Iger cannot bear to pull the trigger to disaggregate what he put together.

I think it will be much better than my microwave prepared Thanksgiving meal I just had and I thought it was really good. It's what happens when you move out of the city away from friends.

Reheated chicken breast meat I bought yesterday from Popeyes. Mac and Cheese, garlic mash potatoes, corn on the cob and jellied cranberry sauce. Only thing missing that I should have bought or prepared were deviled eggs.

It's either setting an environment variable (global) or do I want it to turn it off only when I'm in a certain directory, like when I'm coding.

Perhaps tie the environment variable to a macro-key.

Nothing remarkable here.
Anyone with a lick of sense would have brought any of them here. Especially if they worked for us as shooters.

Neighbor was SF guy. He noted that every single one were psychopathic killers who used to work for the former regime. We just paid them better, for now. He was even candid and told them if they switched sides he'd have problem killing them too.

Another interesting observation - he said he tried (unsuccessfully( to convince leadership the only way to pacify these people is when one killed one of ours we kill his whole fvcking clan.
They get that.
Then the clan would keep the hot heads under control.

Instead of trying to flip a switch off or on, which sounds like it carries many risks, it's a simple redirect. Plus it kills two birds with one stone. Slimmer women with bigger boobah.

94 This little banner script is getting more and more complex, I added logic to detect if either shuf (linux) or gshuf (macOs) is present and to use the correct one to shuffle the phrases.

So to summarize, the script uses Figlet and lolcat to display a randomly selected phrase with a randomly selected figlet font, every time you open a terminal, you can turn it off and on by setting an environment variable, and it will automatically turn off if you are in tmux or the working directory is my coding directory.

Why'd I do this?

Don't know, just wanted to do a little shell scripting and one thing led to another.
