Speaking of camouflaged spiders, outside our bedroom window there was a leaf sort of caught up on a spider web. The fetching Mrs Beartooth watched as the spider ran out, grabbed the leave and brought it back next to the window, secured it with more webbing then crawled behind it. So, it built a camouflaged shelter that protects it from the elements and gets heat via the window.

For a bit of irony, back when I was a teenager, I had a friend who was a bit of nature girl. She had a pet bluejay and one day, while she was walking, it was sitting on her shoulder.
