Musical Interlude

There was an official music video released for Eye in the Sky, but for the life of me I cannot find it online.

10 On the content - I always thought the GDPR was simply impossible to really be implemented (completely) the way it's written. The thought that the EU could issue a regulation that would apply to non EU companies everywhere else in the world, with no actual presence in the EU at all, just because some person in the EU logged on and bought something, was stupid.

Hey Fluffy Nugget - I actually watched a documentary on the Edmund Fitzgerald and went and learned the song on the guitar A very good, and haunting, song.

25 Good morning, good people, from the 20 degree wonderland that is the Adirondacks.

One more day spent in the majesty of the most exceptional country on the planet. I consider it great good fortune to be able to do so. One of the things has been serving in the military for a spell. I wore that uniform with PRIDE and would wear it again in an instant.

Plus as usual, may all effort from you always result in great benefit with commensurate heartburn for the leftwit fungi.

26 Top Story is pretty wild.

Europe is scaling back its landmark privacy and AI lawsThe EU folds under Big Tech’s pressure.

After years of staring down the world’s biggest tech companies and setting the bar for tough regulation worldwide, Europe has blinked. Under intense pressure from industry and the US government, Brussels is stripping protections from its flagship General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) — including simplifying its infamous cookie permission pop-ups — and relaxing or delaying landmark AI rules in an effort to cut red tape and revive sluggish economic growth.

Posted by: m at November 20, 2025 04:33 AM (RuTUS)

27 ... although The Verge can't write:

The changes, proposed by the European Commission, the bloc’s executive branch, changes core elements of the GDPR

ch-ch-ch-changes

Posted by: m at November 20, 2025 04:35 AM (RuTUS)

28 moar from the Top Story:

The proposed overhaul won’t land quietly in Brussels, and if the development of the GDPR and AI Act are anything to go by, a political and lobbying firestorm is on its way.

You're welcome. If you have a school in your area, the best approach would be watch a class and get a feel for it.

The other advice I give is when you start, don't bother with a gi. Bring in sweats. If you are doing it for a few months, you can get a cheap gi on Amazon for about $40-50.

67 "2026 will be the year of Linux on my desktop, at least."

I guess I was an early adopter. ~1998 was when I switched for anything other than Windows games. My laptop has my last operational Windows boot partition (my main desktop's windows drive failed and I haven't bothered to replace/fix that one) which I use to run Steam. After I found out that the author of my favorite games, Derek Smart (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Derek_Smart) was rabidly anti-Trump, I deleted his games from my Steam account. ("All Aspect Warfare" was fun as well as "Universal Combat CE 2.0") I guess I'll try the new emulation layers to see if the older games that I like to play which don't have linux ports actually work.

Might be true. People are easily manipulated and the left is good at manipulation.

I saw a thing yesterday where some brainiac was saying that we should ban billionaires and just confiscate all wealth over 999 million... like people like Musk are just sitting there with stacks of cash all over their house.

Or the idiots would complain about no jobs, and high rent, and high insurance but don't you dare remove those people who're in the country illegally.

It was and it went well. She gave me the second highest rating, which is what I gave myself, and was very complimentary in the "past year" write-up. My goals for next year were stuff like "learn to sleep in" and the like.

87 I have been tracking down music videos for songs I used to listen to on the radio, and recently I hit a bad batch of excessively queer ones. I had no idea, since I didn't have cable and had not seen the videos at the time, but Faith No More, the Goo Goo Dolls, and Jane's Addiction (among others) are obnoxiously faggy.

I imagine that they thought they were being edgy, but it doesn't look that way through the lens of today. If anything it makes me sad; maybe it was their choice, or maybe they took The Ticket and got forced into gender-bending by diabolists.

I was pretty busy in my last two weeks. The budget for 2025-26 was due by the end of March. It was my job to reconcile everything (salaries, guest speakers, and supplies, to mention only three things) and make sure it was all entered in the budgeting software my employer used.

I miss tackling the logic puzzles of "Why am I off by $14,000?" Nothing else about it all, though.

Changing my older PC laptop over to Linux Mint will be a good challenge, though.

But Rusi is no stranger to being the subject of crime reports. In 2017, KPRC 2 News reported on police needing help finding him as a gang member and a bank jugging suspect.

At the time, he had more than 30 arrests.

Gee, I wonder... Go to Wikipedia, paste in the politician's name.

Sure enough: Political party Democratic.

Funny how when it's a Republican in a story like this, (R) is right after their name, and they salt the summary and the video/audio with the term "Republican" as much as they can.

Nobody hates the partisan media enough.
