Sefton: sefton at cutjibnewsletter.com | ICE Targets Charlotte, NC for Illegal Alien Arrests; Thirty Thousand Students In Public Schools Stay HomeDoes this mean that around 30,000 of Charlotte's public school students are illegals or children of illegals? I think it does. I did not hear of any leftist campaign to Keep Your Kids Home as a protest. This was organic. ![]() On Monday, Charlotte-Mecklenburg schools saw a tremendous number of absences, nearly 20% of students, shortly after ICE showed up in town and illegal migrant communities became afraid of going out in public.Nearby district, Wake County, told illegals that it will have teachers deliver Zoom lessons so that they can stay home to evade ICE. Congressman Pat HarriganOne illegal injured an officer by "weaponizing his car." I guess a new euphemism for "running down a cop" has dropped. One person was injured after a vehicle was used to attack Department of Homeland Security agents performing a crackdown on illegal immigrants in Charlotte, North Carolina, on Sunday. "his afternoon in Charlotte near University City, a United States citizen weaponized his vehicle, driving a large van at law enforcement while they were conducting an operation," DHS posted on X.The officer is reported to be in stable and culturally-enriched condition.

The Department of Homeland Security issued an unusually sharp and highly public rebuke of U.S. Senate candidate and former North Carolina Democratic Governor Roy Cooper after he criticized federal immigration enforcement operations in Charlotte. Cooper wrote on social media that while he supports using federal resources to deport violent offenders, he opposes "randomly sweeping up people based on what they look like," warning that such tactics could leave dangerous criminals at large while harming families and the economy. DHS immediately fired back, using its official X account to highlight the case of Jordan Renato Castillo-Chavez, a Costa Rican national whom North Carolina authorities had previously declined to transfer to Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). DHS described Castillo-Chavez as a "criminal illegal alien" with a record that includes indecent liberties with a child, first-degree sexual exploitation of a minor, and solicitation of a child via computer. The agency's message to Cooper was pointed: "North Carolina refused to hand him over to ICE."Related: Tom Homan promises that the City of International Law, New York City will soon be targeted as well. We should be doing this every day in Houston, Dallas, San Antonio -- major cities in every red state.
Inner city schools receive Title I money for butts in seats. The biggest way a teacher gets in trouble at an inner city school is sending a kid home sick before official attendance is taken. There are entire schools that are nothing but the children of illegals and everyone knows it. Posted by: brak at November 19, 2025 02:19 PM (jGJov) 6

This is more of how much the government--at all levels--has been working against the citizens. 30,000. None of their parents paying property taxes. All of them of free lunches, free breakfast. Residential real estate would collapse in many areas. Voter base for dems would dry up. Dem apportionment would lose 50 million. The whole thing seems like it would take an actual shooting war before people accept that we got ourselves into a hole and we either get out, or die as a country. This crap started back in the 90s when the NC Governors and the Dem-controlled General Assembly allowed illegal immigrants to receive NC drivers licenses. Overnight, NC became a magnet for every illegal in the US of A. It hasn't stopped. NC businesses loved illegal immigrants, especially the food processing plants and other ag-related enterprises. As North Carolina became more industrialized, the illegal hiring shifted to hospitality, commercial trucking, construction, and maintenance work.
And that's why NC auto insurance rates are among the highest in the country. Posted by: mrp at November 19, 2025 02:35 PM (rj6Yv) 93

My wife taught in a school like that and spoke English to the kids. The young ones pick up English quickly, and the good principals encourage the teachers to speak English to the kids bc obviously it will help them. The lazy teachers just respond in Spanish.
Speaking with the parents is next to impossible, but very very few parents show up for anything other than picking up their kids. They don't care -- it's just "free" daycare to them. Yep. If you call home to report behavior issues, they duck your call. If you manage to get them on the phone, they don't care. If they do show up at some point, usually because their kid got beat up for being a little shit, they blame the teacher and the school and claim ignorance of any attempts to contact them before that point. The lesbians across the street have a knack for finding the most sawed off crew to come do their landscape or tree trimming work.
Last week, they had 3 different vehicles stop by and do some various work. One was a 2000's model Chevy Silverado towing a 12' high wall trailer. The open areas were filled with OSB that had seen it's share of rain. One side had the word "LANDSCAPE" spray painted on the wood. High quality, I'm sure. After a year, they had literally nothing. No tools at all, that would do what was originally intended. "Write me code that does this specific thing. Okay, now I'm going to test this code to make sure it works," is one thing. "Copilot, build me a codebase for a brand new product" is something else. The latter requires a dreamer and nothing else. (If something was coded in Rust, it was coded by a Troon) Posted by: XTC In the case of Cloudfare, it was something simple--the file that composed of the botnet protection portion of their services was larger than the allowed file size. So when the new file was sent across the servers, it borked them which then took down client websites across the world using that protection. Similar to Crowdstrike outage which did something similar with its virus definition files. Configuration error, not coding. And in both cases rolling back to the older files caused the servers to function again. Posted by: whig at November 19, 2025 03:06 PM (WDjG6) 261

Some States are even trying to embed DEI ideology into AI models, producing "Woke AI" (Remember Black George Washington?). We MUST have one Federal Standard instead of a patchwork of 50 State Regulatory Regimes. If we don't, then China will easily catch us in the AI race. Could you just re-route the Interstate, and dispense with the bridge altogether?
Posted by: Alberta Oil Peon at November 19, 2025 02:52 PM (npFr7) - - - - - - - - - The Francis Scott Key Bridge is part of "I695", also known as The Beltway. Rather than a N/S or a E/W main road, it's a circular track around the city of Baltimore, Md. Specifically, it crosses over the Chesapeake bay on the SE side. The problem is that, to get from one end of the bay to the other, from the south side to the east side (and vice-versa), the bridge was the shortest distance between those two points. Now it isn't, due to a sudden, critical failure to exist. The alternatives are to go through the I95 tunnel, the I895 tunnel, or travel through the city of Baltimore (the crack tunnel). Those options existed before. But now they're the only options, which makes traffic even worse during rush hours. Posted by: Another Anon at November 19, 2025 03:09 PM (4h45B) 276

Posted by: Blonde Morticia ======== Too many companies are racing to be THE AI company and unwisely spending massive amounts on acquiring depreciating chips and machines by outbidding their competitors. Similar to the Web 1.0 collapse where the logistics for home delivery for everything under the sun simply did not exist in a way to make the companies profitable. What is misleading called AI is actually something called machine learning and it has been around awhile (remember Watson and Chess games against humans). So worthy now for niche areas--animation, improving error fixing on visual media, video generation, language translation, and rote summarization of complicated piles of information if a person has the personal knowledge how to correct any errors. It is not something to bet the farm on when errors/hallucinations are a massive issue so AI driven cars, medicine, law, are much farther away. How will we power any of this? That's the real question in AI. Posted by: garrett at November 19, 2025 03:13 PM (rO4EG) ====== Nukes. Jane Fonda can suck it. And when AI collapses in on itself as a fad, we'll have a bunch of nukes. Worth it.
Posted by: Another Anon at November 19, 2025 03:09 PM (4h45B) Thanks. Perhaps a ferry service could be set up to take part of the load? Maybe just for large trucks, and require that large trucks use it, and not take alternate routes? Trucks waiting in the lot for a ferry are not on the road choking up traffic, and the drivers are getting paid to sit there. Posted by: Alberta Oil Peon at November 19, 2025 03:14 PM (npFr7) 300

That's the real question in AI. Posted by: garrett at November 19, 2025 03:13 PM (rO4EG) But, I also look at it this way: If we manage to force a power conversion to nuclear for an Ai future that never develops- i ain't going to be that upset about it. Oh well, I guess power rates should be dropping. Posted by: Aetius451AD work phone at November 19, 2025 03:15 PM (zZu0s) 301

AI will have 3 or 4 winners that will Be multi trillion dollar companies.
This is how al new industries work. Tons of entrants, a bubble, then a pop and the winners become household names. See cars in the 1910s and 20s, PCs in the 70s and 80s, Web 1.0 in the 90s. ---- Nobody in Mexico is insisting that everyone needs to go to college, and many couldn't afford it anyway, so people learn trades, often generationally. It used to be the same here, but people got obsessed with college educations. College is where a lot of communist indoctrination takes place, so I think there was a certain amount of intentional push towards college instead of trades, but my parents were very proud that I went to college; it was also definitely considered a step up in life. Sydney would be great in Barbarella! there's tons of IP for that btw
Jane Fonda was nothing special other than her bod. so now you get bod and a modicum of personality and sexiness so! it's a great idea I wish she read this bc she needs to look at Richard Adams' book Maia. she would be FANTASTIC in that. it would be a really amazing TV show Posted by: BlackOrchid at November 19, 2025 03:25 PM (emBoF) 321

Oh well, I guess power rates should be dropping. Posted by: Aetius451AD ---------- I think PDT has fast tracked the opening and building of Nuclear Power Plants. Bezos is building 13 (did I dream this?) small one's in Washington, Three Mile Island is being re-opened. There is a high probability, considering who is doing it (people like Musk) and the money poured into it that in a few years we will have easily built small reactors anywhere. They will be a feature in new neighborhoods. Kick 'Big Energy' off your monthly bills.
