China's largest cybersecurity firm, Knownsec, was breached, exposing details of China's state cyber operations.
The data includes cyberweapon documentation, internal hacking tool source code, and global target lists covering over 20 countries, including Japan, Vietnam, and India. A spreadsheet lists 80 hacked foreign organizations, plus evidence of 95 GB of stolen Indian immigration data and 3 TB of call records from South Korean mobile operator LG U Plus. One of the documents mention a malicious power bank, disguised as a charging device. Knownsec is key to China's cybersecurity, providing advanced defense and offensive capabilities, including espionage tools. so, in the last 2 months, my computer will start to race, esp when I use Mozilla , or Phonelink...but not right away. I had like 8 tabs, then went to Ace, and my harddrive sounded like it was going to take off! Checked, went up to 8 gigs of ram and was still climbing....closed all tabs, started again, and ...everything is fine! Any reason for this to happen randomly like this?

China is playing tough with Prime Minister, Sanae Takaichi.
Xi picked the wrong girl to get tough with. --- Japan’s foreign ministry said on Nov. 14 that it summoned China’s ambassador to lodge strong protests regarding the “highly inappropriate” statements by Consul General Xue Jian of the Chinese Consulate General... “The dirty neck that sticks itself in must be cut off,” Xue wrote in Japanese in a now-deleted post on X, In a subsequent post, the Chinese diplomat said viewing an attack on Taiwan as a threat to Tokyo is “a path of death” that some “stupid politicians in Japan would choose.” Xue’s comments have triggered a formal protest from Tokyo. Lawmakers from the ruling and opposition parties have urged the government to expel the Chinese diplomat. word a basic unit of data in a computer, typically 16 or 32 bits long. Posted by: m at November 17, 2025 04:19 AM (RuTUS) These days it's typically 64 bits long; that's what a "64-bit processor" means, that its word size is 64 bits. Meaning it can do its fastest math with 64-bit-sized numbers, i.e. numbers that can go from -9,223,372,036,854,775,808 to 9,223,372,036,854,775,807. 64-bit numbers are huge, so there are lots and lots of programs that use 32-bit numbers (minimum value -2,147,483,648, maximum value 2,147,483,647) for most things. And modern processors are also very speedy at doing math on 32-bit numbers. But 64-bit numbers are the "natural" size in modern processors. "Lynxes and rabbits and bears. Oh, my." --Dorothy Posted by: m at November 17, 2025 *** I just dreamed that I was being trailed by a young hippopotamus, in the city no less. So maybe add "hippos" to the list. I dreamed I'd met a girl I knew in high school. I seemed to be about 35, so this was only about 17 years after HS. She looked like Michelle Williams of Dawson's Creek (which she did not in real life), and we'd exchanged email addresses (which did not exist in real life then during the Punic Wars). Hers was an AOL. We were walking and talking, and a relatively slender hippo emerged from a side street behind us and caused a ruckus. We ignored it until we reached the end of the street, which was enclosed somehow, and the hippo was still behind us and attacked a house and yard, disrupting a family. Then I woke up. Conditions are about the same as yesterday, 65 F., high humidity but no wind to mention. Good workout conditions.
Linda, as usual, won't tell me what she wants to do for T-giving. I refuse to go downtown, which involves driving on bad streets, parking blocks from the restaurant, and paying $$$ to walk among panhandlers and sleeping homeless in the area where I grew up. I've suggested a good seafood place in the suburbs; but she says, "I don't want *french fries*" (said in a voice of sheer contempt) "for Thanksgiving." I've told her, "Either you tell me what you want tomorrow -- you make some suggestions you're happy with -- or I choose for us." Which might be nothing at all. I'm tired of going through this kind of stuff every major holiday: No matter what I do, it's not good enough, and she doesn't tell me she was upset until weeks later. Plus her birthday is on 12/1, and she has mentioned exactly zero about what she'd like for that. If I ask, I get, "I don't know . . ." Tired of all of this, I am. Quick bit of advice about the reviews: Start with the negative ones. See if they follow a pattern and check when they were submitted. If they are over 4-6 months old, it may not be a problem. Vmom, no, not a word about T-giving Day venues. I have looked online for suggestions -- but since she dislikes the suburbs for some reason, it's hard to find something.
I keep saying, and have for years, "TELL ME what you want, and I'll try to get it for you!" But she won't tell me and expects me to read her mind. Posted by: Wolfus Aurelius, Dreaming of Elsewhere at November 17, 2025 07:31 AM (wzUl9) 180

Michelle Obama doesn't straighten her hair. She attaches wigs made from other people's hair. The hair mostly comes from India. Every stupid thing this cretin does, she says the white man made her do it. Fake suffering that she blames on someone else, that's all she talks about. It's all she's got. Ford CEO says it takes about five years to learn the skills needed to pull a diesel engine out of a Ford Super Duty truck. In my experience, getting it out is not so difficult. Getting it back in and working correctly is the challenge.

Does anyone want their OS to do any of the things MS is stapling on? Everything I wanted from an OS was provided decades and decades ago. Start my programs, show what’s running and let me switch. Manage my files. Then stay the f out of my way. Everything else has been an annoyance. Every year MS just becomes more of a roadblock in life.
Posted by: banana Dream at November 17, 2025 07:08 AM (KTeKV) Same. MS is trash. Google is trash. Samsung is trash. Apple is probably trash. Don't know. Don't use it. I suspect that a large majority of people who "use" such stapled-on additions are people forced by a lack of technical expertise on how to remove them.
