Sefton: sefton at cutjibnewsletter.com | Weekend Conspiracies![]() So here's my rule on conspiracy theories: I think everyone gets one or two free conspiracy theories. If you don't have any unconventional beliefs, you're kind of boring. You do not have, as Michael Scott said, a "child-like sense of wonder." If you have three to five conspiracy theories, then I'd say you have a preference for the fantastical and dramatic and you prefer action-thriller movie plots to pedestrian but much more likely explnations. You like big, bold, often-gibberish theories that are more interesting than dull reality. If you believe in six to ten conspiracy theories, well, now I think you're kind of a loon and maybe a bit credulous and low-IQ. Now I think you just believe in conspiracy theories because they're pretty simple. But, if like Tucker Carlson, you now believe in ALL OF THE CONSPIRACY THEORIES, I don't think you're a loon. I think you're a grifter playing the loons for Paranoia Clicks.More details at the link. Don't comment on old threads. Conspiracy theories tend to vary in quality, and some are more lasting than others. Also, some tend to overtake previous thought patterns. The big news of the week was the end of the Democrats’ shutdown, which means that things are now back to normal. I.e., batsh*t crazy. (And, by the way, I am a convert to Bill Glahn’s theory that the Democrats never intended to achieve anything tangible by the shutdown. Rather, it was simply a means to fire up their base in advance of the elections in Virginia and New Jersey. The tactic succeeded, which means we can look forward to another shutdown next fall.) Lots of the week’s memes were leftovers–Mamdani in New York and Sydney Sweeney (most of which I passed on, despite my high regard for Ms. Sweeney). But there were also some new topics, like President Trump’s endorsement of 50-year mortgages, which was not popular in meme world. And socialism remains deeply unpopular. . . ![]()

Those types I don't understand at all. And I typically am skeptical of them and ignore them, as I figure their ridiculous takes on things have some kind of ulterior motive behind them. 21 Catechism of the Catholic Church
[1700] 1700 The dignity of the human person is rooted in his creation in the image and likeness of God (article 1); it is fulfilled in his vocation to divine beatitude (article 2). It is essential to a human being freely to direct himself to this fulfillment (article 3). By his deliberate actions (article 4), the human person does, or does not, conform to the good promised by God and attested by moral conscience (article 5). Human beings make their own contribution to their interior growth; they make their whole sentient and spiritual lives into means of this growth (article 6). With the help of grace they grow in virtue (article 7), avoid sin, and if they sin they entrust themselves as did the prodigal son1 to the mercy of our Father in heaven (article Posted by: vmom deport deport deport at November 15, 2025 11:29 AM (tcsrY) Posted by: no one at November 15, 2025 11:30 AM (W7XSX) 28

First World Problem:
My "ten-cup" drip coffee maker finally clogged up with lime and would not work. I got the one-cup job down out of the high cupboard over the fridge, and made a cup. On my second such cup now, life is good. Brilliant Idea: Keurig, or some other appliance maker, should develop and market the "E-Coffee" system. A shelf-stable emergency coffee maker that is independent of the user's electric power and piped water, and/or refrigeration assets. Pack all the following into a sealed canister: 3-cup coffee pod, 3-cup plastic or stainless carafe, 24-ounce bottle of spring water, packets of sugar and coffee whitener, and a drip coffee maker powered by one-shot disposable cartridge of butane. Burner and striker built in, of course. Whole thing could sit on the shelf for years, until an emergency strikes. You could sell refill kits for it, too. I don't know if I have a rule about conspiracy theories. Too many have been proven right.
I would say, if the theory is based around the government, any government, being dirty or corrupt or power-hungry...good odds that theory is fact. The harder the Press pushes back against a theory, the more likely it's a fact. If there doesn't seem to be any obvious benefit to a theory, either it's not a fact...or I haven't considered who is really benefiting. By ace's model, do smaller conspiracy theories count towards your score? I'd think there's some stuff that you'll ponder and be open to possibilities, which shouldn't count, and then there's the stuff you really dive into which counts towards your score.
For me, days after Fetterman helps end the shutdown, he ends up in the hospital? I'm willing to entertain ideas. Ancient alien stuff. I'm interested in the topic and there are a lit of amazing structures even we'd have difficulty doing with our level of tech. But I won't fight over this. Chemtrails....meh. However I do believe there are groups of people that are very interested in population control and used the jabs to do that. 1. I remember stories of China having 'ghost cities'- giant make work projects where cities were created and no one lived. 2. I could imagine a group of very wealthy people talking China into using one of those cities to house several thousand orphans, criminals, homeless and experimenting on them with the jabs. 3. Keep them there locked in, give them food, entertainment and see what effects the jabs had over 10 years or so. I could see that. There was NO REASON for everyone to get the shot. If anything their problem was hiring standards were so rigorous that they often had difficulty infiltrating the organizations that were causing trouble. The real problem, then as now, if Congress, the DOJ, and presidential administrations want to obstruct investigations or the results of same, and decline to prosecute, all the good work they did comes to naught. That was the legacy of the 1930s thru the 1950s and State Department communist infiltration. Millions dead or behind the iron curtain, the loss of China, Korea, Cuba The C.I.A. and its predecessor the O.S.S. was a problem from inception, because there was no oversight and a huge off budget funding scheme. Conspiracy theories I believe.
The novel corona virus was a manmade bioweapon that escaped from a lab at the Wuhan Institute of Virology. Crossfire Hurricane was a political operation by higher ups in the FBI with no legitimate predicate, used as an insurance policy against Trump getting elected. Joe Biden was not sharp as a tack. Fifty-one former intelligence officials did not want to know whether the Hunter Biden laptop was real. The Clinton Global Initiative was actually a bribery and money laundering scheme masquerading as a charity. Blue state governors kept their states locked down to hurt the economy not to protect public health. I got to six, so I am a loon. Posted by: Ted Torgerson at November 15, 2025 12:47 PM (R86kT) 164

One reason for conspiracy theories: when information is regularly withheld, or we are blatantly lied to by the MSM and/or government, you have to look elsewhere to make it make sense.
That's what changed during covid (and continues): things simply stopped making sense. Common sense ceased to exist, things we've been told all our lives (e.g. herd immunity, biological male/female, etc.) were suddenly deemed completely wrong, like a switch being flipped. These new narratives happened so quickly across the board that it was impossible to NOT consider something/somewhere centralized orchestrating them. People started speculating, attempting to piece together some idea of what was happening -- and that's when things can go really sideways ith conspiracy theories. I plead ignorance on this one. There may be perfectly reasonable explanations for all of it, but it's also entirely possible the mad scientists of our modern world looked up at the sky, saw the vapor trails, and thought "We could hide all kinds of shit in those."
This is as stupid as it gets. Look up in the sky, see a contrail, then access FlightAware and it will identify exactly what is flying overhead. Unless its a small private jet, barely capable of carrying a payload of anything, it will likely be a commercial airliner that has scheduled airport departure and arrival information that can be confirmed. There are plenty of applications that track celebrities, corporate executives and others by the their ADS-B (mandated) signals. There is also SSR (2nd Surveillance Radar) If an aircraft is circling around or going into some secret lair of some Bond Villain it will be tracked and X, Bluesky or some other venue will let the world know. >>Tomorrow start Ken Burns American Revolution series, supposedly one of my favorite writers Rick Atkinson is a big part. But you know I somehow bet Ken Burns Marxism will show up about slavery. Burns is race obsessed, every series he does has some sort of racial angle or is centered around it. Posted by: Thomas Bender at November 15, 2025 01:28 PM (XV/Pl) 237

88 I recall M Obama complaining that she couldn't wear her hair "natural" in the White House because all the racists would find it too ethnic. Then she wore it natural for awhile, but now seems to have gone back to the unnatural style. What's up with that? Who's forcing her hair choices on her now? Posted by: Emmie -- be strong and courageous! at November 15, 2025 12:09 PM (FMtrg) ----- On rare occasions she has appeared in public in her natural hair, no wig. Her hair is sparse and scraggly, possibly damaged by decades of weave adhesive. I don't think any white people care about her wigs. It would be nice if she shut up with her endless whining and ingratitude, though. It's slightly depressing to see somebody sink so low, and it's an archetype for other whiners. Best Kennedy assassination theory I have heard is that Jackie was the assassin: JFK's head explodes away from her as she puts her hidden gun against the other side of his head. You can't see what's in her hand in the Zapruder film. I guess she found out about Marilyn Monroe and Nancy Pelosi in the hidden alcove in the Oval Office.
