I'm going to take me a big healthy shit, and then I'm gonna shag the brains outta that new blonde flight attendant." His announcement went over the whole plane. The pretty blonde flight attendant heard this and exclaimed, "Oh my God!" and started running towards the cockpit. An old lady sitting in an aisle seat stopped her and said, "Relax honey, he's gotta take a shit first." Drink of the Night Keepin' it simple tonight - cold beer!
![]() Scoville first had to develop a calibrated scale for spiciness and an experimental method for gauging the spiciness of various peppers. In this method, known as the “Scoville organoleptic test,” chilis are dried, ground into a fine powder, and mixed into a solution of alcohol, water, and sugar. This mixture is then given to a panel of 5 tasters to consume. As the perceived spiciness of any given food varies widely from person to person, this panel allows an average value to be obtained. The pepper solution is then progressively diluted with water and given back to the panel until all members can no longer detect any spiciness. The number of dilutions needed to cross the sensory threshold, rounded to the nearest multiple of 100, thus becomes the heat rating of the pepper, expressed in Scoville Heat Units or SHU. For example, if a saturated pepper solution had to be diluted 50,000 times before the tasters can no longer detect it, that pepper is given a Scoville number of 50,000 SHU. To give an idea of just how this scale works, a Bell Pepper, which contains no capsaicin, has a rating of 0 SHU, while the average Jalapeño clocks in at 3,500-8,000 SHU. The Scotch Bonnet, Red Savina habanero, and Bhut Jolokia or “Ghost Pepper” – previously among the hottest in the world – top out at 580,000 SHU, while police-grade pepper spray and the Carolina Reaper reach 1.5-2 million SHU. Chemically pure capsaicin, meanwhile, sits at a whopping 16 million SHU.Looking for a party dip without the side effects of sweating, crying, and a gallon of milk? A nice, calm buffalo chicken dip is always welcome. Pro tip: go with bleu cheese instead of ranch. Ranch is for people that clap when the ice cream truck is down to low-sugar, fruit-based treats. ![]() The Millenia was canceled after the 2002 model year, and the industry waited nearly a quarter century to revisit the Miller cycle, with the 2025 Volvo XC90 adopting the design. In the interim, dozens of hybrid vehicle powertrains have employed the Atkinson cycle, a less aggressive take on the Miller concept that swaps in electric motors for superchargers to paper over the reduced compression that comes with it.*** The HQ proudly counts our very own Mannix - he’s cooler than this car, but just by a hair. Below, the lost‑and‑found story of an awesome car from that TV show. Good reading. Take time to click through the picture gallery - not Joe Mannix (Not a cop!) style pics, but still great. Although Barris was given a relatively free hand in creating the Dart’s special features, he knew it was not to be a gimmick-laden machine like the James Bond Aston Martin. After all, Joe Mannix was a regular guy working for 100 bucks a day, not a British secret agent. “They left it up to me as to what would be a trendsetter to follow the concept of the show,” George Barris told us. “The Toronado was a one-of-a-kind expensive-looking vehicle, like slipping a private eye into a Rolls-Royce. We wanted the Dart to have a performance look, but we played it down to make Mannix’s visibility as a private eye not so luxurious.”

I was watching a review of the old movie Event Horizon and they mentioned in passing there is now an official prequel comic book to explain what happened which...uh...the ship went through hell right? I though the original movie made that clear enough.
Anyway though the prequel that notes that the villainous entity in the ship is specifically King Paimon. The same seemed familiar and then I remembered that's ALSO the villain from the movie Hereditary. I guess in occult circles this guy is popular because I remember after watching the movie that there were videos all over the internet of idiots attempting to summon him (because if you believe demons exist the last thing you should want to do is summon one) Posted by: 18-1 at November 15, 2025 10:13 PM (sKqQm) 29

I bring her in for hugs and kisses 3 or 4 times a day. The Christmas tree looks beautiful all lit up. My friends children decorated it. Mom had the big ribbon, bows, and so many ornaments. When the lights are turned on, you can almost see the tree. The outside looks beautiful too. Not too many people had lights up tonight and it was a beautiful day to decorate and put them up. I'm wondering if tariffs, crazy electricity prices and uncertainty are stopping people from putting up stuff. I did see a few people decorating. That or it's November 15th. But still. Canada. During the time I lived in Boston we had a few blackouts, one that lasted about 4 days. Things go downhill pretty rapidly in large urban areas when the power goes out, much faster than even suburbia let alone more remote areas. Fall is upon us. Button up your insulated flannel, grab a table by the fire, find some cider or your drink of choice, and pretend you love pumpkin spice.
That's what fall means to you? Fall is leaf raking season. And if you live in an area full of giant oak trees, it's a job. The neighbors across the street had six family members out there cleaning their yard today. The oak trees still haven't dropped most of their leaves so that's just the beginning for them. I wised up and pay a lawn service to do it. I still have some money left over to buy cider. Posted by: nerdygirl at November 15, 2025 10:54 PM (0Htd1) 136

136 I was watching a video commenting on the fact the rate of cultural change has collapsed in the 2000s.
Show someone a show from the era of 1950-1999 and they can most likely put it in the correct decade. Show them something made between 2000 and 2025 though and...it gets much harder. The video didn't really give an answer as to why this is...your thoughts? Posted by: 18-1 at November 15, 2025 10:54 PM (sKqQm) Video games, particularly pokemon, changed neural pathways in kids brains in the 90's, and now in the 2000's, that's all they are really good for. RPG's and listing the thousands of pokemons and their evolutions. They lost their imaginations and can't think of anything that isn't derivative. IH 345 Scout engine was tough and versatile. Different that common V8s its design had cooling jackets around the valves helping keep the valves and heads stay cool.
This engine was much used in mid-range trucks because of its stamina. One drawback was the valve attachment, I think the valves would also spin also a benefit, had a tendency to loosen and drop the valve. Posted by: Alberta Oil Peon at November 16, 2025 12:06 AM (npFr7) for what it is worth, I planned out a small distilling rig from a dead Mr Coffee, and then waited for my girlfriend's coffee maker to die. I think the relationship died first, and I don't really drink, but I loved planning that out. Posted by: Kindltot at November 16, 2025 12:11 AM (rbvCR) 250

>>My Caribbean bareboating plans are, shall we say, fluid. I need to spend some time in my home waters in something more than 5-knot winds before I undertake any island-hopping.
That would necessitate leaving the dock. You should do that. The reason the Virgin Islands has become such a popular bareboat sailing destination is because it's very easy sailing. Line of sight and gentle breezes if you go in peak season. You can do it. If I can, you can. And you should because you will never forget it. As I mentioned late in the Hobby thread a friend and myself took the Avanti with its newly installed 700R4 transmission up to Elnora for beer and munchies. Car ran great; I drove up, and Bruce drove it back. Transmission swap a resounding success! At 60 mph, engine is turning about 2000 rpm.

I have a jar of instant coffee (yuck) in case of power outage... can boil water out on the grill if needed. No gas line to this house, or I'd have a gas stove! And a normal freakin' furnace!
Posted by: JQ at November 16, 2025 12:09 AM (rdVOm) There are a number of small cook stoves that run on those one pound propane bottles, they are good for coffee and minor cooking - better if you have a small pressure cooker. I have an old SAW ammo can that holds two bottles of propane, the top and bottom of a Century tool single burner stove, and a small one-mantle propane lantern. It is the tits for making coffee in the woods. Posted by: Kindltot at November 16, 2025 12:16 AM (rbvCR) 255

FlashForge, a 3D printer company (or maybe I should say a "former" 3D printer company) just reached a Bud Light level of public fucktardery.
First they said customers weren't allowed to print gun parts or other weapons with their printers, and if you did they'd "report you to the authorities". Instant firestorm. Then they tried to walk it back with some weasel words. Didn't work. https://tinyurl.com/hececmkc These asswipe's company is melting down in realtime. If you have a gas stove (or a grill), you can still make coffee even if you prefer the whole bean stuff.
Wrap the beans up in a tea towel and bash them with a hammer for a while (a big mallet works best). Brew in a saucepan and enjoy. Posted by: Rodrigo Borgia at November 16, 2025 12:22 AM (IG3/x) 263

I had a small Toyota truck for decades. Bought it new in 86, gave it to a friend of Thor's when we left California in 2013, because it didn't have ac, and I didn't want to cross the desert in it, or drive in this Southern humidity. Over 300,000 miles, and the only thing I ever had to replace was one clutch, the master/slave cylinders, a catalytic converter that was stolen, and I did have to buy a rebuilt carburetor after 250,000 miles. I don't think I even changed the sparkplugs more than a few times. I miss that truck, I love stick shifts. Posted by: Tammy al-Thor at November 16, 2025 12:25 AM (Vvh2V) 267
I'll survive with instant coffee, lol. If I find a good deal at a yard sale, might buy a single or double burner propane setup.

Lemme see. If the power goes out, I can make coffee in my old graniteware percolator on the gas range. Or on a Coleman stove. Or build a fire in the firepit. Or use the side burner on the gas grill. Or fire up the generator, and get the house powered up again. Right now, I am using a one-cup drip coffee maker that drips into an insulated mug (no hot plate). Worked fine this morning, two cups, it's pretty fast.
I do like having a carafe of warm coffee on the hot plate, though. Posted by: Alberta Oil Peon at November 16, 2025 12:43 AM (npFr7) 282

A Toyota pickup, with a hybrid power train, that will cost $10k, and all they have to do is design it, but they're like really really busy, man, so it may take a while before you see it.
