Good morning kids. First, a UPS cargo jet crashed in Louisville last night so prayers for all those affected and the victims.

The results from Election Day are not necessarily surprising but nevertheless completely disgusting and horrendous in their implications for the nation and our society going forward. Yes, NYC decided that it wanted to get high on new and improved Zyklon C, instead of returning to some form of relative sanity with Sliwa or even criminal lout Cuomo, who at least isn't a jihadist or a Stalinist but merely a corrupt mobbed up mass Mom-mom and Pop-pop killer.

Also, that the commonwealth of Virginia has decided to make a twisted scumbag thug who openly fantasized about putting two bullets in the head of his political opponents and in so doing effectively encouraged his supporters to do so, the top law enforcement officer of said commonwealth is in my view one big-ass paving stone on the road to Hell. Jay Jones, should only be on the receiving end of what he wishes on his enemies. But would never be because only he and his ilk rely on subversion, violence and terrorism to gain and maintain power.

With that as a preamble, if you will, I share what an old college buddy of mine posted on Facebook along with a stock photo of the Empire State building:

Politicians come and go. Two iconic Manhattan buildings (Empire State and Chrysler) have stood above it all for 95 years. This is my favorite of the two.

My dear sweet Lord in Heaven, Master of the universe and creator of all things, did you have to inflict such a braindead asshole on me so early in the morning. To my otherwise dear yet braindead knee-jerk liberal friend, I wonder if you had this sentiment in mind back in 1993 when Rudy Giuliani the first Republican, and for sure non-leftist/liberal mayor in New York City probably since forever was elected probably to your great disappointment. And then as his second term was coming to a close, two other iconic buildings which were only standing for about 30 years were reduced to smoldering ruins, the smoke plume and flames actually visible from space. Just to clarify, this happened not because of Rudy Giuliani, but because of the ineptitude and pig ignorance about the dangers of Islam by successive Democrat and Republican presidents.

Yeah, politicians come and go which is probably what many Germans thought in 1933 when that funny little corporal was elected, ditto what the citizens of Zimbabwe/Rhodesia were thinking in 1980 when Robert Mugabe with the help of Jimmy Carter was installed as president, only to wind up victims of mass starvation and political repression due to the ineptitude, corruption and tyrannical brutality of the regime they thought was freely elected (pfft!) and would be voted out of office in the next election (double plus pfft!).

So to my friend Steve, kindly get your head out of your ass and un-Fuck yourself after you and whoever else supported or voted for Mamdani because Democrat good/Republican evil go fuck yourself. Seems counterintuitive but appropriate nonetheless.

VA AG - even with 10% vote splitting from the top Dem to the bottom Dem, Miyares earned FEWER votes than he did facing an incumbent AG in 2021. 4 years of population growth, and fewer overall votes...

It's a D split in the Senate. And now a big D split in the House. And Ds for Gov (LTG) and AG. They can pass what they want when they want b/c there are no minority rights in the VA House/Senate (1 vote wins on votes).

They will now have the redistricting and abortion constitutional amendments (passed this term and now gonna be passed next term - you have to do it twice with an election in betwen) on the ballot for 2026. Which will swing VA congressional seats bluer.

I'm going to make a guess that those who voted for Spanberger and Jones fit into one of these categories:

1. Live in NoVA and work for the federal government OR some government related business/organization (e.g. defense contractor, NGO, politics). Or their spouse does. They are pissed off at Trump and the GOP for all the DOGE cuts and shutdown.

2. Foreign born, fled a country where their politicians are more corrupt and threatening, so are either not shocked, or worse, see it as familiar and reassuring.*

It is a mistake to assume the voters have the same values as we do.

I don't the results from last night have anything to do with the midterm elections. Yes, it would have been great to win in places like NJ or VA but they aren't exactly deep red areas and with the possible exception of the VA AG race Republicans were the underdogs in every race.

The left is angry and wants revenge and they are motivated. As noted about groups like the Ford Foundation they are also well financed and organized. In VA you also had a huge number of fed gov't workers and for obvious reasons they are angry. And while Sears might be a nice, admirable woman she is not much of a campaigner. When the top doesn't inspire its bad news for down ballot candidates.

I can't say I'm surprised that Dems voted for an AG who joked about murdering his political opponents. They haven't finished celebrating Kirk's murder yet and cheer on antifa everyday. They don't care.

We get a day to despair but then it's time to get back to fighting because they will never stop.

431 I don't the results from last night have anything to do with the midterm elections. Yes, it would have been great to win in places like NJ or VA but they aren't exactly deep red areas and with the possible exception of the VA AG race Republicans were the underdogs in every race.

The left is angry and wants revenge and they are motivated. As noted about groups like the Ford Foundation they are also well financed and organized. In VA you also had a huge number of fed gov't workers and for obvious reasons they are angry. And while Sears might be a nice, admirable woman she is not much of a campaigner. When the top doesn't inspire its bad news for down ballot candidates.

I can't say I'm surprised that Dems voted for an AG who joked about murdering his political opponents. They haven't finished celebrating Kirk's murder yet and cheer on antifa everyday. They don't care.

We get a day to despair but then it's time to get back to fighting because they will never stop.

Dems are

Now, that latter point includes fraud, but it largely doesn't matter if #1 continues to be true

It’s turnout. When trump is on the ballot people on the right turn out to vote. When he’s not they don’t. Dems on the other hand d turn out all the time.

I posted this above my county turnout was 84% last year and 32% yesterday. 2024 was a gop sweep yesterday was a.Dem sweep.

Can’t win if you don’t play.

I think it's more that the opportunity to object to Trump's perceived excesses brings them out. That has mostly been when he has not been on the ballot, but it's correlation, not causation.
