Climate Change: CBS Fires Almost Its Entire "Climate Change" Unit

LOLLLLLL

lolololol

This liberal is very Sad!

Americans who rely on broadcast networks for honest journalism suffered a painful loss this week, as CBS News -- fresh off its acquisition by Skydance Media and the installation of anti-woke opinion writer Bari Weiss as editor in chief -- fired most of the reporters who specialize in covering climate change.

CBS owner Paramount began laying off about 1,000 employees across the broader company Wednesday, delivering a big chunk of the cost savings that Skydance CEO David Ellison promised investors. The CBS climate team's decimation was confirmed to me by three people who requested anonymity. Not all of them work at Paramount.

Of the six-person team, four lost their jobs, effective Friday. A fifth person may yet be reassigned to non-climate stories, my sources believed. National environment correspondent David Schechter kept his job.

The layoffs are especially devastating because CBS was a climate leader among the national TV networks, becoming an early member of the global media collaboration Covering Climate Now and producing vital work.

In June, for instance, CBS Evening News aired a segment on worsening heat-related health dangers for pregnant women.

Let me guess: Pregnant women people hardest hit?

AI Overview

Pregnancy heat risk days on the rise, new report finds ...

CBS reported in June 2025 that climate change is increasing the risks for pregnant women due to hotter temperatures, with a specific focus on a report that found climate change has nearly doubled the number of "pregnancy heat-risk days" in the U.S.. These risks include dehydration, heat stroke, and a higher chance of complications like preterm birth. The report highlighted that many states offer little to no guidance on heat safety for expectant mothers.

Key points from CBS reports

Increased heat-risk days: A Climate Central analysis discussed by CBS found that climate change has nearly doubled the number of days each year that pose a risk for pregnant women due to heat.

Specific risks: Extreme heat can increase the risk of dehydration, heat stroke, and heat exhaustion in pregnant women. It can also lead to more serious complications, such as preterm birth.

Why pregnant women are more vulnerable: Pregnancy puts added stress on the heart, increases blood volume, and makes women more prone to dehydration, which is exacerbated by high temperatures.

Lack of state guidance: A CBS News report noted that most states provide little to no specific heat safety guidance for pregnant women.

LOL. How did I guess that?

Just this month, the network partnered with KFF Health News to show how hospitals are facing increasingly severe flood risks.

Oh, they "partnered" with the left-wing organization Kaiser Family Foundation, which plants left-wing story in the "nonpartisan" media?

And was the story, by any chance -- Hospitals, sick people hardest hit?

Yup!

At least 170 U.S. hospitals face major flood risk. Experts say Trump is making it worse.

October 1, 2025 / 6:00 AM EDT / KFF Health News

Louisville, Tenn. -- When a big storm hits, Peninsula Hospital could be underwater.

At this decades-old psychiatric hospital on the edge of the Tennessee River, an intense storm could submerge the building in 11 feet of water, cutting off all roads around the facility, according to a sophisticated computer simulation of flood risk.

Aurora, a young woman who was committed to Peninsula as a teenager, said the hospital sits so close to the river that it felt like a moat keeping her and dozens of other patients inside. KFF Health News agreed not to publish her full name because she shared private medical history.

"My first feeling is doom," Aurora said as she watched the simulation of the river rising around the hospital. "These are probably some of the most vulnerable people."

Beautiful. Perfect.

No notes.

I guessed accurately again. I'm on fire!

Back to the sob story about the Climate Change Unit being fired.

The climate team also arranged training sessions for local CBS affiliates, hosting virtual seminars where CBS journalists across the country could learn to cover global warming. Mb>In the lead-up to the 2024 presidential election, the climate team worked with local CBS affiliates to produce a series of web stories and TV segments exploring why congressional Republicans had voted against clean energy investments, even as polling showed strong local support for climate action.

That kind of journalism matters -- in part because the people who watch broadcast news tend to be older and more likely to vote.

"CBS is one of the most important voices in the American media. If they're not going to be covering climate change, that's a problem," Hertsgaard said.

So the main point of the unit was... electioneering and propagandizing people to vote for Democrats?

Yes, I agree. Thank you for admitting it.

A Paramount spokesperson didn't respond to my request for comment about why the company gutted the network's climate team, and whether CBS will still prioritize climate coverage going forward.

Here is the Real Logo of the CBS Climate Change unit.

This is not a joke. I found this at "Heated," a left-wing climate catstrophism blog.

So this is "journalism," according to these unabashed political actors:

10 While I am glad to finally see some rejection of the "climate change" scam, I am holding off on celebration until we see a major shakeup at NOAA. Trump should have eliminated the entire agency after they were caught red-handed systematically lying about climate data. Strip out the National Weather Service and anything else genuinely useful and otherwise get rid of it.

That's my marker. "Major purges and reorientation at NOAA" is *the* bellwether, in my opinion, This development is good, but those are the bastards directing policy on it.

So this isn't all that surprising. In recent days we've heard MSNBC exhorting the Party that climate change is a toxic topic, and that people's opinion of climate change rhetoric ranges from apathy to aggressive antipathy.

And of course, the thing with Bill Gates saying "we need to pivot with regard to the investments in our portfolio of evil, and invest heavily in economic colonization while pursuing our bioweapons initiatives - people have figured out we're trying to starve them, so it's time work toward enslaving them and infecting them with our shiny new diseases."

The signal has gone out - "our new reading of Marxism says we should call a moratorium on these job-killing initiatives that cost us so dearly among the laboring portion of our generally shiftless coalition."

Had my first in November and he was, of course, 10dys late & an ounce or two shy of 10lbs. I suffered for him. Frat boys mooed at me crossing the street once, & had I not been so huge I would have leaped into their convertible & given them a beating. I scared my husband crying about the mooing & he laughed. Then I laughed.

My old car broke down & I left it in the street I was so hot & didn't care. My mother got tears in her eyes at the airport while I was stuck in a turnstile. In labor the L&D nurses thought I was having twins due to picking up 2 heartbeats, which freaked us out.

My husband bought a window unit for the 100yr old house & our bedroom. I was only happy in a pool & floating.

Other son was born in May, a perfect solution to pregnancy is to get it done on Labor Day in September, after hiking a mountain, playing in a waterfall, & a lot of beer.

201 "...producing vital work."

_______________________________

Vital for whom?

Anyway...here's an interesting perspective. Suppose in your free time you inadvertently stumble across a brand new form of renewable energy that is 100% beneficial to the ecosphere, limitless, and relatively easy to apply to all forms of human necessities (transportation, heating, cooling, manufacturing etc.)

What do you think happens the second you announce this miracle to the rest of the world. Here's my prediction:

1. The Government steals the patent under eminent domain and pays you as little as possible for your discovery under a liberal view of "fair compensation."

2. The patent and schematics are provided to a limited number of manufacturing companies with political cronies sitting on the Board of Directors. Various Congressmen and women immediately invest in those companies.

3. At least 12 different parties materialize out of the ether claiming that you stole their idea. This is made more complicated by the inclusion of foreign governments adding support to those parties.

4. The Environmental Movement immediately transforms back the Global Cooling scenario.

Posted by: Itinerant Alley Butcher

-------

IMHO it *is* a foreign policy issue. The Constitution gives the power to the legislature for generating revenue and that is significant, but it does not take the power from the Executive for purposes of security or foreign policy. This sounds like splitting hairs but I don't think it is. It only has not been viewed that way in past.

Its a bell shaped curve like IQ's, a 9 is the beauty equivalent of somebody with an IQ of 160, a 10 is the equivalent of an IQ of 175. Yes they exist, at a ratio of about 1 person in 100,000. That is rare enough that you are highly unlikely to meet a 10 unless you work in an industry like fashion - movies - or men's entertainment. A 7 is in the top 2.5% of all women in appearance.
Posted by: An Observation sez Trump is my President

-------------

IQ of 175 is 5 standard deviations above the mean (100), or about 1 in 3.5million.

But that's not why 10s don't exist. 10s don't exist because not enough people can agree what a 10 would be.

266 The UPS plane crash in Louisville...

Plane, a MD-11 flying for UPS, apparently had an engine fire upon takeoff. It crashed about 1/2 mile from the airport in an industrial park.

It was full of fuel. The fire is... intense.

No word on survivors. From the plane or on the ground.

287 272 definitely a normal distribution. I don't know if we should reserve 10 for those 5 standard deviations above the mean though. That seems too restrictive, and too much subject to argument.

Even on a personal level, I don't think I could reliably distinguish between 9 and 10. Ask me again tomorrow and I might reverse the ranking.
