Apologies for the low-quality blogging today. I'm under the weather and just trying to finish up so I can go to bed early.

The BBC was caught stitching together Trump's statements before January 6th to falsely show him as encouraging an insurrection.

Whistleblower Alleges BBC Doctored Trump January 6 Speech in Panorama Episode

A former BBC adviser's internal report accuses the broadcaster of splicing unrelated segments from Donald Trump's January 6, 2021, Ellipse rally speech in its October 25, 2024, Panorama episode 'Trump: A Second Chance?' to misleadingly imply he incited the Capitol riot. The edit combined an early call to march peacefully with a later reference to fighting electoral challenges, paired with pre-speech footage of supporters. The claims, detailed in a 19-page memo sent to BBC executives, have triggered a White House inquiry and criticism from UK politicians including Boris Johnson and Liz Truss, who call for defunding the BBC.

The Telegraph:

The BBC "doctored" a Donald Trump speech by making him appear to encourage the Capitol Hill riot, according to an internal whistleblowing memo seen by The Telegraph.
A Panorama programme, broadcast a week before the US election, "completely misled" viewers by showing the president telling supporters he was going to walk to the Capitol with them to "fight like hell", when in fact he said he would walk with them "to peacefully and patriotically make your voices heard".

The "mangled" footage was highlighted in a 19-page dossier on BBC bias, which was compiled by a recent member of the corporation's standards committee and is now circulating in government departments.

The dossier said the programme made the US president "'say' things [he] never actually said" by splicing together footage from the start of his speech with something he said nearly an hour later.

It claimed senior executives and the BBC's chairman had ignored and dismissed a string of serious complaints raised by the corporation's own standards watchdog.
Donald Trump Jr, the president's eldest son, accused the BBC of dishonesty and "fake news".

He reposted The Telegraph's story on X, writing: "The FAKE NEWS 'reporters' in the UK are just as dishonest and full of s--- as the ones here in America!!!!"

The Telegraph will soon publish other excerpts of the memo, which accuse the BBC's Arabic service of bias over its coverage of the war in Gaza, and accuse the corporation of "effective censorship" of its coverage of the transgender debate.

The document raises serious questions about the culture at the BBC, how it affects impartiality and how managers including Tim Davie, the director-general, are accused of turning a blind eye to evidence of bias.

The spliced together version of Trump's comments aired by Panorama made it seem that he said: "We're gonna walk down to the Capitol and I'll be with you and we fight. We fight like hell and if you don't fight like hell, you're not gonna have a country anymore."

In reality, the first part of Trump's speech: "We're gonna walk down to the Capitol and I'll be with you," came 15 minutes into the speech. The second half of the sentence that was aired by Panorama, "and we fight. We fight like hell..." came 54 minutes later.

Fifteen minutes into the speech, Trump actually said: "We are gonna walk down to the Capitol and I'll be with you. I know that everyone here will soon be marching over to the Capitol building to peacefully and patriotically make your voices heard."

It was completely misleading to edit the clip in the way Panorama aired it. The fact that he did not explicitly exhort supporters to go down and fight at Capitol Hill was one of the reasons there were no federal charges for incitement to riot.

That was not the end of Panorama's distortion of the day's events.

The Conservatives have demanded an immediate investigation into how the Panorama documentary was allowed to be broadcast.

Nigel Huddleston, the shadow culture secretary, said: "These are extremely concerning revelations that could seriously undermine the brand and reputation of the BBC.

"The BBC licence fee is justified on the basis of impartiality and trust.
"There can be no justification for this kind of deliberate manipulation and the spreading of misinformation. "This is not the first time that evidence of bias at the BBC has emerged, but it is one of the most stark and alarming examples to date.
"Licence-fee payers deserve an immediate explanation and apology from the BBC and a thorough investigation into this scandal must take place."

The most damaging disclosures involve a one-hour Panorama special called Trump: A Second Chance? that was broadcast in October last year.

As well as altering Mr Trump's words, the documentary also showed flag-waving men marching on the Capitol in Washington DC on Jan 6 2021 after the president spoke, which "created the impression Trump's supporters had taken up his 'call to arms'". In fact the footage, was shot before Mr Trump had even started speaking.

The report said Panorama's "distortion of the day's events" was so egregious that viewers would ask: "Why should the BBC be trusted, and where will this all end?"

I'm sure some of you won't agree at all, but its my assertion that much of airline travel is simply corporate and government malfeasance. IF you're flying for fun, good for you! But if you're flying for "business", I'm already giving you the side-eye. What is it about YOUR presence at the other location you're flying to that is so precious and so specific that a ZOOM call or phone call or series of emails couldn't be just as good of an option?

Here it is:

Remember when the blood-sucking Democrats hired 87,000 IRS agents to hunt down the American taxpayer?

It’s official:

Internal Revenue Service agents are now detailed to the Department of Homeland Security under an agreement between DHS Secretary Kristi Noem and Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent. The purpose is to provide additional immigration enforcement manpower. These agents have been authorized under Title 8 of the U.S. Code to hunt down and apprehend criminal illegal aliens for civil violations of immigration law.

The Secretary of Homeland Security: @Sec_Noem

“Instead of using Biden’s 87,000 IRS agents to take more money from Americans, I’ve directed them to help taxpayers save money — by assisting ICE in rounding up criminal illegal aliens for deportation."

91 AOP,

I caught you posting about the audio amp a little late. You may have looked all this up but the package you describe is a TO220-27. A couple of complied make audio amps with the package. ST Micro is likely as they have two that run on 12VDC.

As far as swapping chips I would take the good unit and cut the leads off of the "chip" a couple of mm above the board and then hit with the soldering iron and grab with some needle nose to pull the remaining lead out being careful not to lift any board traces. (don't get the board too hot). Clean up the via with a solder sucker.

On the bad board with the good chip, I would either cut the chip out if there was enough lead before the bend or solder from below and pull each lead out individually.

118 James Comey was the lead prosecutor who brought charges against Martha Stewart in a 2003 insider trading investigation. Stewart was convicted in 2004 for lying to federal investigators and served five months in prison, though she maintains she was not guilty of the underlying insider trading itself. The case became a high-profile example of a celebrity being prosecuted by a prominent federal prosecutor, and it drew public attention to Comey's role as a rising legal figure.

What comes up must come down as I was taught in physics or something. Good enough. Consequences of action. Comey needs to pay.

I am dealing with super cataracts. I have some sort of thumbprints on my eyeballs they said were map dot things that have to be scraped off my eyes before I can start cataract surgery. I had the first one done Friday morning.

It was weird I was awake for the whole thing. They wheeled me into the room with a huge a$$ microscope and the doctor put a thing on my eye to hold it open and took a tiny metal scraper and ran it over my eyeball, it felt odd but not painful. I see him tomorrow to get the *band aid* contact off of my eye and I go back on the 14th to have the other eye done.

Once all of that is done and healed then I can have my eyes mapped again and start the fight with medicare to get cataract surgery approved.

Depends on where you are coming from. I was proposing to drive a friend up the Gorge to The Dalles, and go south on Hwy 97 through Dufur (stop there at the hotel) and on south to Bend or La Pine, then to Crater Lake and take a full day there, and then either go across to Medford and from there to Crescent City and up 101, or up I-5. That is a long road trip, and you may want to take a full week and miss a lot

if you want to see central Oregon, going up the Gorge and down 97 to Crater Lake is a three day drive one way
I don't know if there is a best time to see Crater lake.
While in the area there is the Newberry Volcanic Monument and in the opposite direction is Klamath Falls and Klamath Lake. Or book a room at Kahneeta Hot Springs Resort, I haven't been there since I was 12 but the website looks nice

159 I'm in the midst of the same thing. They scraped off the surface, which was fine during, but hurt like hell for three days after. Would have been nice to have some pain control. Then she lasered off an anomaly, which likewise felt fine during and then hurt like hell after. Next up: cataract surgery. I still can see shit. Makes knitting a positive agony.

Posted by: tcn, Pickle Queen of AK at November 03, 2025 07:13 PM

I was told there would be pain and I have had zero pain, absolutely nothing. It feels like my normal dry eye but there is no pain at all. They gave me a prescription for hydrocodone that I said I did not want because I have bad reflux and I just puke those things up if I take them. I think it may just be me because when I left the eye surgery place they said I had better start taking my pain pills 4 hours after I left there when the anesthetic started wearing off.

162 if you want to see central Oregon, going up the Gorge and down 97 to Crater Lake is a three day drive one way
I don't know if there is a best time to see Crater lake.
While in the area there is the Newberry Volcanic Monument and in the opposite direction is Klamath Falls and Klamath Lake. Or book a room at Kahneeta Hot Springs Resort, I haven't been there since I was 12 but the website looks nice

It is probably the bearing surface the drum rides on. First check the drum belt to make sure it is not slipping and squealing, then make sure the tensioning pulley is OK, but it is probably the bearing surface at the door. Also check the back.

I once found a butter knife in the ducting in the back in my Dad's machine. It is odd what gets where when tumbled around a lot. If you have something stuck to the drum, it should be obvious when you lever the top back open

Grind opiates, add water, use syringe to boot it. Works great, no digestive upset. People who routinely use opiates learn this.

If you are really trendy you can stay at the McMenamin's Edgefield hotel in Troutdale, and if you are not really trendy but you like nice places you can stay at the Balch Hotel in Dufur.
If you like competing with rich idiots you can stay at Hood River instead.

Edgefield is a really nice place, last time I was there, same thing with the Balch. Edgefield is windy in the winter.
