I took the "good" chip out of the board with the Dremel tool, and had cut the board into individual chunks to be desoldered from the chip pins. I got about 7 pins freed, and #8 is loose in the chip itself. Like rattle-around loose. So, chip is NFG.

A good day's work on getting complete bibliographic records of the first tranche of references (about 1700 of them) for the book I'm intending to write.
I hope to have all the non-patent literature records assembled by the end of the year. The patent references will be similar is size, but much easier to get together.

It attacks your muscle. Your heart is a muscle. This is in addition to the gastrointestinal issues, of which the paralysis can be permanent, the blindness. The grey tinge to your skin, etc. Moreover, if you don’t change how you eat and live, you will gain it all back and then some. I definitely have empathy with people who want to/ need to lose weight and how hard it is to do it and then sustain. I also think people need to have a realistic goal as to what their body type is, and where they are able to sustain. No diet is going to make you a super model if you aren’t built like one to start. The mindset needs to switch to being healthier, and not chase skinny. If you are truly overweight, just 10% of your body weight lost can result in improved blood pressure, reduced joint fatigue, improved sleep. Small, achievable goals make you far less likely to give up in frustration.

I found out after losing all of that weight that I have a condition called Lipedema.
After reading up on it, I am convinced that most, if not all, of the people that we refer to as Land Whales also have Lipedema and/or Lymphedema.
Both conditions are insidious, and no amount of diet and/or exercise will help "cure" the condition. In fact, when the weight inevitably creeps back on, all of the weight goes to the problem areas.

Today was a date of astro-gnomonical significance, the yearly maximum of the Equation of Time. High noon was 16 min and 27 s earlier relative to mean time. The true sun has been lollygagging behind the mean for a while, and now has stopped that and will start catching back up.
This means high noon will start shifting slowly later for a couple of months, and the balance of the shortening in daylight will shift to the morning side relative to the clock.
There's about equal now, but over the next couple weeks, you'll notice sunrise starts getting later faster than sunset gets earlier relative to the clock time. Earliest sunset is about two weeks before solstice, depending on latitude. Sunrise will continue to get later and later until early Jan.

Yes! And a change in diet, voila, you get where you need to go without the risks. Most everyone knows my story, I lost over 80 pounds by changing my life (and then going nuts and buying a boutique fitness studio and getting a nutrition degree, so maybe SOME side effects to my way of doing things 🤣 ) It was not fun, but now I can’t imagine living like I used to do. I am smaller than I have ever been, I was always chunky monkey, even when I was dancing a lot. My body shape is what it is, I am curvy. You know this. I have round muscles instead of long and lean. It’s taken a while to get here, but I have accepted who I am, and I feel like at 54…29, I am doing okay.

If you're still here: do you ever deal with people at the other end of the scale? Those who struggle to gain weight? I have hemochromatosis--too much iron--so have to have frequent blood draws. A pint of blood is a pound. I don't have them to spare, particularly since I can't eat iron-rich beef/bison/lamb.

I am very aware of this, and have a number of clients with it, and clients who we are building muscle back because the only true way to remove the extra fat from thighs when you suffer from this is liposuction (insurance will pay for it after you go through therapy and lymphatic drainage, when those don’t work, you are left with surgery). When you have this, It’s painful and you will lose / tone is other areas but your legs, ankles, and sometimes, but not always, arms, don’t seem to budge and get bigger with time. It’s an awful condition. And I would never, ever call anyone a land whale. Being mean to people does absolutely nothing. It hurts. Being called chubby hurts. I know first hand.

Lipedema is a disease of the connective tissue - body fat is stored in lovely lumps in between the skin and the muscle, and once it gets there, the only way to get rid of it is a very specialized lymph-sparing form of liposuction, followed by excision of the excess skin and tissue so that more fat can't get back in that tissue. Compression garments have to be worn forever after.
I had never heard of it; someone on the Mounjaro support groups saw my before and after pictures and saw what I now know were "Lipedema Legs".
Mounjaro/Zepbound has literally saved my life. If not for finding out about it, I wouldn't have started a 4-surgery plan (with a board certified surgeon) to finally get my body back to something resembling a normal body. I also wouldn't have caught this nasty cancer in time to possibly give me a fighting chance at long-term survival.
I am quite serious about looking into Lipedema -

I am super bummed that I am not going to have legs that don't look like a Sharpei puppy, but if I hadn't lost weight on Mounjaro, and thus found out about Lipedema, I wouldn't have found this cancer before it was too late.
I'm kinda on the GLP-1 bandwagon, mostly because it saved me (in more ways than one).

Ben Had, I was never hungry at any MoMe! I gained about 3 pounds this time, eating with a bit of moderation. So far I'm keeping off the weight I've dropped starting beginning in May 2023 (I'm embarrassed to say how many pounds - a LOT). It is a struggle some days but I believe I've trained my brain to stay away from massive amounts of carbs. Also I have a lot of discipline at the grocery store. If I don't buy something, I can't at it.

But some switch got turned on when I left for college, and the weight came on, settled in my lower body, and stubbornly held on.
Every time I lost weight, my upper body would get skinny, but my legs stubbornly held onto every morsel of fat that it could.
I can only speak from personal experience, but I am not ashamed to tell you that when I started looking into Lipedema, I started crying - because I realized for the first time in my adult life that IT WAS NOT MY FAULT. And every person's story was the same.
Thankfully, doctors are starting to be aware of it. I would not be surprised if GLP-1s are eventually able to be used as an effective treatment for Lipedema and Lymphedema, and covered by insurance for people with both of those conditions.
It has been really nice to get rid of the "food noise" which accompanies these diseases.

It is equally ugly to tell people who have issues with maintaining weight that they are lucky. I don’t work with anyone truly as a nutritionist, that was because I become obsessed with making food a tool for living healthy instead of obsessing over when I could eat again. For you, if you are not, please get with a dietician as they are really amazing for those with medical conditions like yours. They can develop an eating plan for you and align with exercise to help maintain bone density, which I am sure is a concern you have. I do work with very light weights with a client who has an eating disorder for this very reason, limited to 2 days a week. She has been a client long enough that when I see she is spiraling, I can be pretty blunt with getting her in to her doctor. She has put on about 10 pounds and I am super proud of her.

And like I said, I have pretty much leveled off - at this point, I am in "Maintenance Mode".
I have lost a couple of pounds since being on cancer meds, but that has more to do with food having the texture of AND tasting like wet cardboard. The mouth sensitivity doesn't help, either.
If it weren't for the extra lipedema tissue on my lower body, I would be at what I would consider a good/healthy weight. That extra tissue isn't coming off without surgery, so I am content to stay where I am.
My oncologist did say that he is the only doctor who doesn't want me to lose weight. Where has he been all of my life?🤣🤣🤣

In the early 60's the president of the local college invited a communist speaker to address the students, the speaker had asked to present his case for adopting the politics in the US. NO3- is nitrate. It doesn't precipitate. Sewage has suspended solids removed by settling, and the smallest particles are made to agglomerate into larger particles by adding a flocculating agent. Nothing leaves solution, i.e., nothing precipitates.

In the early 60's the president of the local college invited a communist speaker to address the students, the speaker had asked to present his case for adopting the politics in the US. This was extremely controversial among the students and the faculty and he faced a serious backlash and a number of threats. He persevered because he felt it was more important to have such discussions, not because he felt they were right, but because silencing voices meant the ideas could not be addressed, that there was no way to find the flaws or inconsistencies, and even more important, silencing and censoring political viewpoints was what tyrannies do.

My father, in his later years, got to thinking about all this a lot. Southern Baptists have been mostly dispensationalists of late, but he got into the history, and decided that was more recent, and the early Baptists were not.
He came to pretty much reject dispensationalism.

Churchill was only one faction, others favored Germany if only because of their dislike of the USSR. Prior to that final decision for war, the UK was trying to keep in the good graces with both Germany and the USSR, much the way Germany was trying to keep in the good graces with the UK and the USSR. There had been so much evidence that the UK might be amenable to an entente outside of Churchill's faction that Rudolf Hess decided to fly in to try to arrange some sort of understanding. If Churchill had been deposed, the thinking went, the war could be ended. Chamberlain was not the only one who would have tried to change the direction of the war.
Personally, I doubt the UK was ever in favor of Zionism, they were only in favor of keeping control of oil fields, and saw the Mandate a key to that strategy.
