UPDATE: The planned terrorist attack originating in Dearbornistan was "ISIS-inspired."

CNN -- The FBI averted a potential terrorist attack planned for Halloween weekend, the agency said.
The plot was inspired by ISIS, two law enforcement officials with knowledge of the case told CNN.
The two law enforcement officials who spoke to CNN said the plot unfolded in online chatrooms.
An FBI undercover person was introduced into the chatroom in the early stages of discussion, one of those officials said. Two participants have been arrested, and three others are being questioned, that official said.
Agents became concerned that the plot might be imminent around the Halloween weekend when a reference to "pumpkin day" came up in discussions with the group that law enforcement was surveilling, and a decision was made to go in, one official said.

So, I like Halloween well enough, but it's just absolutely preposterous that Governor Supersize JB Pritzker is demanding an end to deportations so that illegal alien criminals can enjoy the sacred Joke Holiday of Halloween.

In NYC, they call Halloween "Gay Christmas" because of the largely-gay Halloween parade. I guess that the Democrat-Antifa-Media Party has officially sacralized this pagan/gay holiday as among the holiest of the year.

For those of you too young to remember religious holidays: Think of the Islamic holiday of Eid. I know you know that one because the Islamic-dominated government never shuts up about it. Democrats always claim we cannot attack our terrorist enemies on Eid. Just like now they claim we can't deport illegals on Halloween, which, to the extent it's a holiday at all, is only a holiday to the English and Irish and that's pretty much it.

JB Pritzker has once again revealed his misplaced priorities--this time pleading with the Trump administration to suspend immigration enforcement so that illegal aliens can "enjoy the holiday in peace." In a letter dated October 29 and addressed to Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem, Acting ICE Director Todd Lyons, and CBP Commissioner Rodney Scott, Pritzker demanded that all ICE operations be halted from October 31 through November 2. The Democrat governor argued that immigration enforcement during Halloween could "traumatize children" and "force families to live in fear," citing unverified reports that federal agents deployed tear gas at a children's parade in northwest Chicago.
According to Politico, Pritzker's letter accused federal agents of "targeting Black and Brown people" and violating constitutional protections. He wrote that "families deserve to spend Halloween weekend without fear," and insisted "no child should be forced to inhale tear gas or other chemical agents while trick or treating." But ICE officials have not confirmed the alleged incident. Federal authorities said their agents had been "boxed in by agitators" and only used tear gas after warnings were ignored. No credible evidence has yet surfaced to support Pritzker's claims.

Incredibly, the Healthy At Any Size Influencer Pritzker called ICE operations an "imminent threat," like they're terror attacks being conducted by law enforcement.

Buick's LaCrosse in my year (2016 ) had a hybrid model, or whatever eAssist is. I never saw one for sale used -- I guess people hang on to them. The ICE engine in it is the 180-hp 4-cyl. that I found anemic in the Regal, so I wanted the V-6 model. Which I have. It returns amazing fuel mileage for such a big car: on ethanol-free gas on my IN trip, at 70 mph w/ A/C on, it clocked 34.7 mpg.

Actually, the Village parade is one of the few events that started as almost all-gay and was later coopted by straights. The "parade" started decades ago in the Village -- then a homo hotbed -- as a small gay gathering on Halloween. It wasn't really a parade.

Over the years, it's turned into a major event, probably the largest Halloween event in the country if not the world. There are tens of thousands of people in costumes and million+ spectators. It's insane. I've gone a few times myself.

Depends on the community. We have a couple of areas kids go, such as our main downtown area, but then they can also go to a "Trunk or Treat" at a local church, and then spread out into the nearby neighborhood for more goodies.

Buy any can of compressed shaving cream. Barbasol menthol was the preferred can of the day, since it was cheap and the cream really stung when it hit your skin (bonus damage!). Take off the large round spray top. Replace it with that tiny spray nozzle from an aerosol can like oven cleaner or insect spray. The key was to replace the big nozzle opening on the shaving cream can with one that was designed to shoot thin streams.

Buy any can of compressed shaving cream. Barbasol menthol was the preferred can of the day, since it was cheap and the cream really stung when it hit your skin (bonus damage!). Take off the large round spray top. Replace it with that tiny spray nozzle from an aerosol can like oven cleaner or insect spray. The key was to replace the big nozzle opening on the shaving cream can with one that was designed to shoot thin streams.

I have to disagree with your overall philosophy there. Doing the absolute raw bare legally required minimum of feeding and sheltering your kids doesn't make you a good parent or even cover the job of parenting.

But I think the point here is that a lot of people here, including myself, were physically, emotionally, mentally, and spiritually abused by our parents. In spades. For years. And in some cases, wrapped in the guise of good Christian parenting (no shit - I had plenty of pointless beatings getting scripture quoted at me, use a rod, obey your parents, honor your father and mother, etc). You give a narcissistic abuser religious sanction to justify that they can do no wrong and you can do no right...holy fuck.

I dressed up and went trick or treating as a kid; it was fun. Last time i remember dressing up was in high school for marching band; we marched at a game in halloween costumes rather than our band uniforms; that was fun.
College for me was working full time and failing at dating; somewhere along the line i started being annoyed by people my age going nuts dressing up and decorating for this holiday.
With my senior dog passing two weeks ago, and my estranged a**hole brother's birthday on the 21st, I pretty much hate this entire f**king month.

When music was great, that was the job, when it started to falter I had backups just in case. Lots of backups. There's a dozen different trades I can do and do well, but in their eyes I don't have a job because I was never just a number with bosses in the same building for 40 years. They can kiss my ass.

It's sufficient parenting. Not good or bad. It does cover the job.

I had good parents. I try to be a good parent, and I do love my kids. But that is not a requirement. Parents are required to do certain things, and loving their kids just isn't one of them.

I hear far too many people try to explain their flaws because dad never came to their baseball games. My dad loved me and never went to a single rugby game, or school event, or anything like that. He was too fucking busy and tired from earning a living so we weren't starving in the dark.

This isn't to excuse horrible parenting - just to say that we have vastly expanded the definition of that in my lifetime.

Enjoyed it! But agree that the intro needs to be a lot shorter. What you could do, once you have a few under your belt, is to use that intro for a "welcome to my channel" video. And if you want to vary the shots, do that quick cut thing that everyone does. Also: churn out some shorts. Like 30 seconds of "my top ten christmas movies" or some dumb thing. You can do those eve more easily - no talking head required. Use Canva or something, use movie posters/cover images and do a voice over. Good luck with this and with the job search.
