Joy Behar: Republicans Don't Want to Come on to "The View" Because We're So Smart and Incisive They Know We'd Carve Them Up

Joy Behar is again taking shots at Republicans -- this time claiming they're too "scared" to appear on ABC's The View.
During Tuesday's broadcast, Behar insisted GOP lawmakers won't come on the show because they're intimidated by the all-female panel, paraphrasing a recent comment from Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) to make her point. "I think we should have more Republicans on the show, but they don't want to come on -- they're scared of us," Behar said, before adding, "Marjorie Taylor Greene says that Republican men are afraid of powerful women."
Greene's actual words were more specific: "A lot of the men here in the House are weak. There's a lot of weak Republican men and they're more afraid of strong Republican women."
Behar's attempt to spin Greene's criticism into a broader dig at the GOP came during a segment about guest bookings. The hosts said they'd like to have more political diversity on the show -- a claim that's been made before but rarely materialized. "If they would come on this show and explain what they're trying to do to this country, I'd like to hear it," Behar said, inviting Republicans while simultaneously accusing them of cowardice.

She said this after the nasty hens' disgraceful attacks on Cheryl Hines. DEI Dum-Dum Sonny Hostin repeatedly claimed, falsely, that most HHS secretaries were medical doctors, and just ignored Hines when she pointed out, accurately, that in fact most HHS secretaries are low-level political hacks with no education or training in science or medicine.

Democrats, especially, have appointed almost exclusively minor flunky minority politicians to head the HHS to make the racial bean-counters happy -- minorities who could not be confirmed for any more serious departments like the DOJ or or DOS or DOD (DOW).

Legally, a show broadcast on the public airwaves either has to be a "bona fide news program" or the equal time rule applies. The View is plainly not a news program, because its morons free-ball it every day and do not even bother to read the news before taping the show, and therefore it is a highly partisan propaganda show and Republicans are owed equal time on ABC.

Being responsible for jacking up the rates people pay, the reduced, subsidized rates being the source of the program's popularity, is terrifying for politicians.

I'm surprised they haven't caved as a whole already, but obviously the decision was made early to just get the clean CR and space for Trump and Vought to cut things within the administration.

Maybe we'll get some kind of discussion when this is all done about repealing the ACA, but I'm doubtful. We'll probably end up with the increased covid era subsidies becoming permanent.

In reality, if I were a famous Republican I'd decline to appear on The View because I wouldn't do panels. My God, that show is ADD on crack. I don't think they sustain a single topic beyond 90 seconds or three exchanges, whichever comes first. Every third sentence they shriek or pound out and the audience roars with applause, ending the conversation.

Maybe I'd go on just to prank them. Every time someone asked me, "Blonde, what do *you* think?" I'd turn excitedly to Whoopi and say "We haven't heard from you yet. What do YOU think?" I think letting the COVID era subsidies lapse could be the kind of kick in the pants to get things moving. I also think it'd be more than likely that we just end up with permanent COVID era subsidies rather than actual reform of the system.

I'm just not hopeful about this situation getting better in the near future. The system may have to collapse before any positive action happens.

It depends on your plan. Some of the COBRA extensions are cheaper than other policies for the same services and coverage levels. Plus if you end up long term unemployed you are forced onto the ACA because private policies are all slowly going away.

182 I had to use fuckbamacare while I was a contractor, so i got the gold plan, which was... ok, not great, but my deductible was $900 and the premiums were reasonable, the only major downside was them being assho when covering brand drugs, one of which i needed because the generic was horsepiss

Then the premium doubled, and they dropped lab coverage for Labcorp and Quest, only the two biggest labs in the US

I had a $4000 lab bill that would have been due had I not called to complain, because they ended coverage on it and I had gotten the lab tests only 3 days before coverage expired (with no notification of course)

Thats when i gave them the finger and got short term indemnity instead

In reality, if I were a famous Republican I'd decline to appear on The View because I wouldn't do panels. My God, that show is ADD on crack. I don't think they sustain a single topic beyond 90 seconds or three exchanges, whichever comes first. Every third sentence they shriek or pound out and the audience roars with applause, ending the conversation.

Yeah it’s doable. But you may have to burn through savings. The problem is if you have a catastrophic illness like cancer you need that policy and you will beg borrow and steal to keep it. But now the insurer can kick you off after it expires and tell you to go look at the marketplace. You get left out in the cold and nobody gives a shit. By the way, the marketplace won’t insure you until your COBRA runs out. So that $40,000 chemo? That right you get the bill and no insurance to boot.
