Psychopaths develop a skill for choosing victims.

I'm talking about Katie Porter but I heard someone, I think one of the guys on the Ruthless podcast, call this gourd-shaped monstrosity "Katie Potatey" and that's the only name I'll use for her going forward.

I will also correct the NYPost, which erroneously refers to Katie Potatey as "Katie Porter."

Katie Potatey was exposed for berating a staffer and throwing a tantrum during an interview in two video clips this week.
And the California governor candidate is even worse when cameras aren't rolling, one ex-staffer told The Post Friday.
One of the lawyer and politician's cruelest tactics is dehumanizing her young underlings by referring to them in the third person -- while in their presence.
"It was easier for her to do these things to the quieter ones, the more soft-spoken ones, who wouldn't be like, 'hey, that's not okay,' " Sasha Georgiades, a former Wounded Warrior Fellow and Navy veteran who served in Porter's office from 2020--2022, told The Post.
"Going after the people you think aren't going to fight back -- I think it speaks a lot about a person's nature when they do that.
"Especially in arena like politics, which you're here to serve people. Actually, you're here to serve those quiet people more, at least that's my viewpoint on it," she added.

Georgiades described a Jekyll and Hyde boss, never knowing which Katie would show up.
"If anything went wrong, she would flip on a dime," Georgiades said, recalling one incident where her young team had setup a Facebook video shoot but picky Potatey didn't like what they had done.
"She's talking to me while the other girl is in the room, telling me, 'I don't even know why she's here. I can do this job better than her.' And this is, like, very inappropriate. The girl's in the room with us," Georgiades said.
"It is dehumanizing and it's demoralizing. It makes you question: why am I even doing this?" Georgiades reflected.
In July 2022, Georgiades released text messages with Potatey exposing her shockingly toxic work environment. Potatey and Georgiades had both tested positive for COVID-19 after attending an in-person staff meeting. Porter then sent angry text messages blaming the asymptomatic Georgiades for infecting her--and then fired her.
Potatey's campaign didn't immediately return The Post's request for comment.

The explosive former congresswoman was also accused of having a short fuse by her ex-husband, with whom she has three children, who described in a restraining order how she had once allegedly dumped steaming mashed potatoes on his head and had chastised him with swear words in front of their kids.

Oh! So maybe that's why Ruthless called her Katie Potatey. I assumed it was just due to her figure, which resembles a sack of spuds with a gland issue.

Below, Katie Potatey speculates about Trump's "demise," fantasizing about him having a heart attack.

He was a judge in his old day job, it's kind of comforting to have someone understanding law to lead the church when it feels like the law gets shredded every day.

Liberal LDS friends of mine have expressed concerns that of all the leaders of the LDS church, Oaks is one of the most conservative. Not true actually. You can pay $30 bucks or if you have a microsoft outlook/hotmail/etc account let Windows 10 set the system backup to Azure. Both get you another year of support for egregious security fixes. The other free method is to have racked up some Microsoft points by buying their software etc.

FWIW, anyone needing to update older windows machines Legacy Update has accumulated all the fixes and updates for old windows versions and archived them there. Recently used it to revive some old XP systems that have software and data I might need in the near future.

There are also several browsers one can use and even an antivirus (Panda) that works for really old machines. At some point, Microsoft malware/antivirus simply cannot update virus signatures because there is none for old systems. Panda and a few other antiviruses keep that from popping up. Hitman and a few other malware programs also work for XP.

Won't get security fixes nor virus/malware updates if you use the Microsux built in programs.

See above or PCMag website (also probably PC World) for free alternatives or pay $30 bucks to Microsoft to keeping Windows 10 with security fixes for another year.

If your malware or antivirus is not Microsoft, relax, it will continue to work. But new security flaws in Win 10 will eventually mean either use safe browsing (some browser addins for some security software) or being very choosy about which websites one peruses. I also would not use it long term for ecommerce or particularly ebanking.

Easy enough to dual boot into Linux for a lot of laptops to do those tasks.

You won't get Windows updates, but you probably still see security updates occasionally.

Microsux just quits providing security and/or driver updates. I have old systems to run bygone and expensive programs ranging from Win 98, XP, Windows 7, and 8.1 downstairs. They run well enough with their old programs designed for them and even webbrowsing with a safe webbrowser is okay experience.

Legacy Update webpage has all Microsux updates for XP to Windows 8.1 archived there and an active X scanner to determine and download which ones you are lacking up to the last official update. Won't help on malware/antivirus updates as older versions like XP SP3 antivirus can't accept newer Microsux antivirus updates.

Also FWIW, ClamAV has a live version that one can use via an USB that will check systems as well but does not have a resident component on the OS.

For windows, Canon works fine. I resurrected an old all in one Imageclass from the Windows Vista era to work on Windows 10 despite having sat unused for about ten years. Stay away from HP due to corporate bad behavior and crappy drivers.

If you plan on linux, Brother is probably a better bet and it works fine on Windows as well.

It's a little low on the dpi front, 600dpi max, but it's fine if you're not trying to pump out gorgeous photos on it.

Maximum: Approx. 900 W; Average: Approx. 460 W; Energy Saver/Sleep Mode: Approx. 1.5 W

900W for a printer is in Wow! territory though.

Eh, I have that capability on mine but never use it and if you have Windows 11, it keeps trying to use bluetooth to link up with your cellphone to spy on contents anyway. For teh most part, almost anything on a cellphone is easily emailed as an attachment to a desktop or laptop accessible account.

Wifi is one of those things that techgeeks like but can be a pita for people that just want things to work especially when the next gen of wifi comes out. The router companies quit giving security updates to their older routers making them insecure thus forcing new hardware on people. That new hardware in turn, sometimes breaks older hardware reliant on that network.

Cables>wireless for less hassle factor.

I dread each upgrade of wifi simply because it breaks things dependent on it. Camera system, security system, sensors, etc.

Newest one is running Open WRT simply to bugger off the frigging hardware companies.

I have some legacy high end video editing, voice to speech, etc. software that I use along with stat software. Running old windows off the net for those issues.

I could use R for stats but open source projects tend to have a peak and fall as developers get interested in new projects. So older ones often fall by the wayside. R is kind of in that position.
