I think Dorsey pretty much gave up on running the place once it got so big in the mid-2010s. He didn't like the huge corporation as opposed to the small startup it was.

Crinoids are found everywhere. There is a huge variety. Very common in rocks of Mississippian age. I've run across them in limestone near Globe, AZ. Not well-preserved, sadly. Still common in modern oceans.

It might be on Blu-Ray or you could sail the high seas and pirate.

The basic premise is that humans have discovered a way to record all of our conciousness and memories onto a storage device that can be placed in new bodies or clones of their bodies and live on after death.

It's an action mystery so there's a lot more to the plot but it basically confront what it means when so many people can essentially live forever.

It was a pretty good show.

Smash & I have an unannounced health and welfare checkmon my Mom this weekend, in Longview, TX. We have to leave MegaRoy with a pet sitter coming in to feed and check on him. He gets probiotics x2 daily, and a fiber supplement x2 daily (olde kitty, like me, and he needs his fiber regular like).

Cannot tell you how paranoid I am that he'll be so stopped up from neing left alone and not eating fromthat stress just on a two-day trip.

And yes, Longview, TX is just a hop, skip, and jump from Corsicana and I still can't get there damnit.

Stinking mortgage making me dependent on the job. Did I mention that i have a $1.6m budget shortfall next year and can only fund half my damned team?

I think it was more of a general rule among ethical advanced alien civilizations like the Vulcans.

It became official policy for Starfleet once the Federation was formed later on.

The series Enterprise does show in an episode that the Vulcans had visited Earth previously in the 1950s in disguise to study humanity, so they were definitely curious about Earth early on.

Another funny with Enterprise, was they revealed the true nature of the Green Chicks, the Orion Slave Girls. Turned out they weren't the slaves, but the masters playing the slaves. They actually ran the Syndicate, the men were just their pawns.

Their powerful pheromones turned men to their mindless minions. They had just about taken over the Enterprise. Chief engineer Tripp, however, had started banging T'Pol, the she-Vulcan with the "nice bum" as one of them said. Now, turns out when you bang a Vulcan, her emotional control sort of rubs off on you during the exchange of fluids.

Tripp was thus immune to the Green Chicks.

I got through most of Discovery just out of curiosity seeing it get worse and worse and saw a handful of episodes of Strange New Worlds and gave up.

I have the movie Section 12 on DVR but I haven't bothered.

If they're going to do something, bring back the NG crew with Seven of Nine as Captain and I might actually watch it if they haven't screwed it up with woke.

One of the (many) things they are pissed off about are what they term “conventional standards of beauty”. Now one thing they hold simultaneously is there are no objective standards, everything (except whatever they don’t like) is a social construct.

That’s how you get fat sows on billboard displays for VS. “we’ll force them to find obese wack jobs attractive”. Something like that. Or maybe another angle is it isn’t “fair” that ugly people aren’t held as standard beauties. So we must be punished, or something like that.
