There are two Columbo episodes which subvert the usual formula/structure of the show. I don't think either is a great episode overall, but the subversion in both is great.
The Greg Evigan one was a subversion. I don't want to say more because that would spoil the subversion. (Even knowing there is a subversion spoils it, but just a bit.) Posted by: ace at October 09, 2025 02:28 PM (KRtlO) 29
The Governor of my state (MO) signed an EO making Veteran's Day a state holiday (no work or school, yay!)
The downside is it messes up the academic schedule since it's now a floating holiday every Fall semester, wandering around the calendar, causing havoc on classes that are taught that week. I just can't take all this namby-pamby boo-hooing about the bloody Indians. You won. All right? You came in and you killed them and you took their land. That's what conquering nations do. Posted by: People's Hippo Voice They are stupidly crossing the line from not assisting Feds with actually obstructing Feds. Clinton v NY and Printz v. A What-If I've never thought about before. What if Columbus had not returned from the first voyage? Too many factors to consider. History could have gone many different ways, for Europe and the Indians. Conquest of the Indians would happen; only a question of how long after 1492 a European or Mooselman ship arrived and returned home. North America may have been first found by cod fishers from England or Spain, or some Basques. I think the Portuguese would have been first, but only if a ship or squadron was blown way off course to the west.

So why does the hater, the one who gets all fumed up about the hat, get to fly. Can I insist to the flight attendant that the person with the pride flag hair dye job makes me feel unsafe and that the rainbow he-she be thrown off the plane? Or that one, the one with the BLM shirt? If a MAGA hat can incite violence, can a white TPUSA shirt that simply says "freedom." The left seems to want to live by rules that say they cannot tolerate being in a space with someone on the right, and that the one on the right must be gone, and forced to be gone by men with guns, if necessary.
