What additional testing, exactly? Document it. What firmware got customized, how, and for what purpose? Morning to the early risers, evening to the late toilers! 'Tis Thor's Day once again. One more day to Friday, the consummation devoutly to be wished. I'm up with coffee and a pipe, taking it easy this morning. The area had rain last night, and is supposed to see a weak "cold" front come through today to lower temps about four degrees F. and decrease the humidity.
I dreamed something pleasant last night: I was at a party at someone's home, and there were two very attractive middle-aged ladies there. One looked kind of like Thelma Lou of Andy Griffith, and the other sort of similar. In fact the first one introduced herself as "Mary Grady." No idea where my subconscious got that one. Anyway, in my dream I moved fast and got both their phone numbers, and they seemed very pleased that I did so. Nice to wake remembering such a dream. While his father was vice president, Hunter Biden sought to sell land around the U.S. Embassy in Romania to a group that included a Chinese firm. The deal collapsed in 2017, but critics say it’s more evidence of how Hunter’s foreign ventures blurred ethical lines and complicated U.S. diplomacy.

Apparently, he went into a long explanation on his stream about how the collar only has vibrate and explains all the features but internet sleuths, who haven't had this much fun since the TANG memos, demonstrated that the shock prongs were removable, Hasan was covering their ports with electrical tape, and the layout of the vibrate only collar was different. Posted by: FenelonSpoke at October 09, 2025 *** After the book club meeting at the library last night, we were going for ice cream, but the sudden rainstorm did for that. (Of course the rain stopped as I was parking the car at home.) I was going to bring up the topic of my putting my stuff in U-Haul storage and decamping to Indiana or Kentucky before the end of the year, but without the ice cream I thought it might seem harsh. Tonight I have a pipe trunk show at the suburban pipe/cigar store. So I'll need to bring it up Friday evening. Update on Mr. Finn. He's a house dog until he sees the doggie chiropractor next week. All his many and varied tests didn't show anything too terribly wrong with him: vitals were normal, no issues with his bones, his prostate has no abnormalities. He gets around without complaint and his appetite is good. As to Miss Diana, I think she's putting on some weight. The last time at the vet, she was 60 pounds for the first time in quite a while. She gets a morning tear around the front yard to try to build up some muscle in her back. She gets some muscle-building powder in her buttermilk twice a day along with cooked chicken and raw hamburger. Now that Her Majesty is home, she's been a happy, silly girl. My fathers memorial service is tomorrow afternoon.
We set it for this week because at the time we were worried about the hurricane coming in and wanted to be safe. Plus, it would give people more time to come in from out of town. Turns out Imelda completely missed SC, and instead we’ve now got this cold front coming in, so it’ll probably be raining. At least the entire service is indoors. I’m still pleased we waited the two weeks. That gave us a little more time to get everything together; all the prep work, and our emotional states. I see the Yankees were eliminated by the BJ's last night in the MLB playoffs. Normally I'd be happy the Yankees lost, and spent all that money in vain, but (this one year only), I dislike the Blue Jays more, because Kevin Gausman is a POS. Can't they both lose? No one is more delighted than me that the Yankees were eliminated, and at home to boot. But it's not because I dislike the players; they all seem to be polite and professional. No, it's Yankeedom that I want to see lose: the asshole fans who are always telling you about 27 championships, the bullying management, the toadying news media and the nimbus of sports parasites that they attract. A while back, I wrote a Saw type story. A man wakes up in a desk with a laptop in front of him. He's told that he has to write a movie script. As a scriptwriter, he asserts that it's not a problem.
The villain tells him that the protagonist has to be a straight white male and the villain is a gay black woman. Or he could push the panel at his foot and trigger the shotgun trap. Pan over to the villain who can't believe that five scriptwriters in a row chose death. Posted by: NR Pax at October 09, 2025 07:10 AM (99eI0) 149

On the topic of renewals, I deliberately let my Surfshark VPN expire. A few years back they decided that it would be a great idea to pair up with a company that warns you about sites you go to may be hosting "Russian disinformation."
I told them that it wasn't their job to determine that. I asked them why they used a company that was guilty of falsely accusing people of disinformation and what criteria they used to check sites.
