After Some Initial Pity-Watches by Antifa Leftists, Jimmy Kimmel's Ratings Plunge 85% In Key Demographic (and Over 70% Overall)

Jimmy Kimmel faced an all-too-brief three day suspension. When he came back, lefties tuned in as part of their routine #Slactivism form of lazy, passive politicking.

But then those leftists learned what most people knew as early as 1996: Jimmy Kimmel is not funny and never has been and never will be and has the charisma of a spent condom.

And so his ratings in the key 25-54 demographic prized by advertisers fell 85% since then.

Jimmy Kimmel's ratings boom appears to be circling the drain.
Disney briefly suspended ABC's "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" last month after the host's remarks about the alleged assassin of Charlie Kirk sparked widespread backlash. Once Disney reversed course, the liberal comedian drew a massive audience for his much-hyped return on September 23.
On Thursday, Oct. 2, "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" averaged 1.9 million viewers, shedding 71% of the audience that tuned in for the host's return from suspension.
The decline among the advertiser-coveted demographic of adults aged 25-54 was even more significant, as "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" managed 265,000 viewers from the critical group on Thursday night to lose 85% of the 1.7 million who tuned in on Sept. 23. It marked Kimmel's smallest audience among demo viewers since the suspension.
Kimmel averaged 1.6 million viewers in 2025 before Disney decided to temporarily sideline him, so another drop would result in the show returning to its pre-scandal viewership.
ABC's "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" also trailed Fox News' "Gutfeld!" across the board on Thursday.

Kirk's supporters panned Kimmel's non-apology, saying the ABC host failed to take responsibility for the falsehood.
"Kimmel is an unrepentant liar who tried to blame Charlie's assassination on the part of the country that just spent the last 2 weeks praying and holding vigils," Turning Point USA spokesman Andrew Kolvet reacted.

Repulsive lying leftwing communists (is there any other kind?) are using "esoteric" measures to claim that "Akshually Jimmy Kimmel's ratings are great, Racists."

WDW_Pro made two good points:

1, when Kimmel first came back, Sinclair and Nexstar stations were not carrying him. Therefore, his "comeback" show ratings were lower than they otherwise would have been. (Note the rumor that these networks only agreed to run Kimmel again because Disney/ABC threatened that they would not allow them to air the Super Bowl unless they aired this fat ball of failure.)

So Kimmel is now available on dozens of more stations than he was when he did his "comeback" show.

That means that if all of these stations had carried Kimmel on his first few nights back, and thus millions more #Slacktivist lefties could have watched him, his ratings would have crashed even harder.

2, Kimmel's ratings are a disaster for Disney/ABC but because they buckled to the left-wing Hollywood mafia Jimmy Kimmel is now practically unfirable and uncancellable. ABC has not renewed his contract and, per rumors, was not going to renew it. But now they'll haven little choice but to renew this pudgy deadweight for at least a year or two.

Last time I checked he hasn't--trial judge has given a time limit before he dismisses the case without prejudice (which means it could be refiled perhaps later).

Yep and airing Monday Night Football as well. The risk for ABC though is that you piss off a large enough block of stations that they go independent as the license goes with the stations, not the network. As network programming descends into the crapper, the value of retaining network ties by affiliates gets less and less because of ratings and that the local ad market is very different than the national one.

When the Spew generates less ratings than reruns of Gunsmoke during the day, then the logical play is to air Gunsmoke.

Nope. Because any sensor will just go "gah" when a few room involved house-fire gets put out. Because the heat is everywhere. Literally everywhere. Every surface has absorbed those BTUs.

All we did - as a fire crew - was vented the roof to let the heat out, and hopefully put positive air behind the asses of the attack crew to put the wet stuff on the red stuff, until the fire-triangle took a break. But there is so much thermal mass there - and so much fuel still just waiting to burn.

The "wrecking" - as taught in FF I and II - matters so much because you have to wreck all those surfaces that generally insulate. Because the cats out of the bag - now you have to go opposite and vent that heat out.

Plus - if you did it smart ? It would save the home-owner a bit on trying to rehab the place. Also - pro tip - I've seen a Chief call "let it burn" a few times. Because it wasn't worth saving for the home-owner.

Most of the campaign staff at the RGA are leftover GOPe types. They haven't changed their stupid mailer, campaign ad, robocall bullshit in favor of turnout models. That is because it will end a lot of high paid locusts employed as such and uproot a lot of those from state party influence. Instead the GOP has to go to where the shy voters are and mobilize them and independents.

The old low turnout mudslinging negative ad model doesn't work anymore to the GOP favor--the Dems have matched or outpaced the GOP in faithful base voters nowadays. And it just depresses independent turnout.

Any smart GOP candidate running in a state would do well to avoid those state douchebag organizations with their prepackaged all in one solutions. They get paid whether or not the candidate losers.

317 Plus - if you did it smart ? It would save the home-owner a bit on trying to rehab the place. Also - pro tip - I've seen a Chief call "let it burn" a few times. Because it wasn't worth saving for the home-owner.
