Polls Are Made for Strippers But Strippers Really Dig Me: GOP Leads Democrat-Media-Antifa Party in 2026 Midterm Generic Congressional Poll

Republicans lead by a scotch -- 1% -- obviously within the MOE.

But Republicans outperform their polls and further, they have a built-in structural advantage.

On a generic ballot, 46% of registered voters said they would back the GOP in a recent Napolitan News Service survey. A further 45% backed the Democrats.

That figure included so-called "leaners," without whom the figures stood at 43% GOP to 41% Democrats. The leaner-inclusive figure marked a net gain of 1% over the August iteration of the survey, when 47% backed each party.

The Democrats lead on enthusiasm/intensity, with 47% saying that they are very enthusiastic to vote in 2026, compared to 41% of Republicans saying the same. We need to change this. And we really need Trump to summon the banners and get his low-propensity personal voting pool to vote in the midterms for people besides him.

Meanwhile, Trump posted an AI video making fun of Democrats stopping the American government for free health care for illegals.

Democrats are shrieking this is the Most Racistly Racist Thing Trump Has Ever Done since the last Most Racistly Racist Thing he did last week.

And so further Sombrero videos have been made.

Take New England - two roughly 50-50 states (NH and Maine) and four 60-40 Dem states and yet not a single R House member.

So far they are using all of the golden oldies: lie, rely on the establishment to amplify their voices, try to silence the right, lie some more, cry hysterically, and try really hard to find a face, a hero they can prop up and celebrate to attack everyone who disagrees.

None of it is working, but remember: when President Bush the younger was in office, it didn't work for years, until suddenly it did with Hurricane Katrina. Why things work that way I do not know. But eventually the worm turns.

And after all the heartache that happened, and retiring early to be her mom's live in nurse, and all her siblings griping over the will. It was rough. But my grandma willed to my mom our family cabin as thanks. The one my grandparents built, and I revere. My mom told me, in an email, she's now willing it to my uncle. Wants to keep it in "the family." She has two kids and my stepkids aka her step grandkids. I asked her if the step kids don't count as family because they aren't her actual blood and I didn't get the answer I was hoping to get.

I love her, and am doing my part to be the good daughter still. But it really sucks to have her hound me that she doesn't get to talk to her grandkids enough, and then hear they are cut out of any future inheritance (because I'd will it to them of course) because they aren't of her blood.

My uncle and cousins will probably sell it, tbh. She swears her trust is airtight that it has to stay in the family. Somehow I doubt that.

138 From 538 subreddit: Buy, Sell, Hold Discussion on the Midterms and 2028. The line is 68% the Dems win the house. Buy (odds too low), sell (too high) or hold?

Buy. 64% is WAY too low, even with the redistricting fights. Even if the GOP were to net 5 seats out of redistricting (the higher end of estimates), the average loss for a president's party is 20-25 seats depending on how far back you go, and that doesn't account for a) Trump's approval rating being 45% at max, and b) the fact that the Democrats now show up more in off-year elections. If the Democrats don't flip the House, it will be the most devastating indictment of their party (or either party) in modern history.

Buy. Democrats don't need to outperform their 2024 results by much to take back the House, and every indication suggests they will.

Buy. Provided no major shift in the economy or direction of the country the odds should be closer to 75% for the Democrats.

I sell the entire idea we are going to have free and fair elections come 2026. Trump and hegseths display to the military today shows they have no intention of letting a silly thing like elections get in their way.

Unfortunately you can't necessarily trust that. Had a situation in my extended family in which a surviving spouse was supposed to keep it in the family per agreement with the deceased spouse. No surprise, the surviving spouse did not. The adult children got some inheritance, but the lion's share of the estate, which was quite substantial, went to the surviving spouse's couple of pet charities. Forewarned is forearmed.

======

It's normal political gravity/conventional wisdom stuff.

Opposition party almost always gains in midterms, so safe bet to assume it.

It may happen. I just question if the midterms of a non-consecutive president's second term, the intervening term most people consider to be stolen, combined with body blows to financial support to the opposition party through the gutting of the fed grant machine, will lead to a typical midterm.

There were the "Team Garbage" memes from Kamala Harris and her group of A-holes. How about Trump mugshots? The goofy faces created of J.D. Vance's meeting with Zelenskyy, and more.

Also, 'Jill Biden apologizes for calling Latino community “unique as the breakfast tacos” in San Antonio'
She made the comment during a speech Monday in San Antonio to a Latino civil rights group. (The Texas Tribune, July 2022). 🤣

161 Oh, two more things on wills and inheritance.

My grandma's lawyer cleverly added a clause to her will that any child that contested the will got nothing. So even though my mom's siblings griped about the will, they never contested it.

Also, there's a brilliant Extension video called "grandma's yellow pie plate" on how to divvy out sentimental possessions after someone dies. Not the big assets, like property and money and stocks. The little things like who gets the dolls, the yellow pie plate she always baked in, the doilies, her recipes, her spoons from every state, her porcelain cats, stuff like that. It's talking about what means something to one person that another person couldn't care less about. And how to sort them fairly so everyone gets a little piece of the items that mean something to them. Really good.

Look at when that pattern didn't hold - 2002.

Shrub was elected to undo the crap that Clinton had done and reduce the bloated $2T federal budget.

And...he did not do any of that but he oversaw what was seen as a very successful response to 9/11.

Trump has delivered on most of the things he promised people to do - the first time since the 80s that a Republican president has.

270 Here's the thing - Dems are in deep trouble. They are trying to somehow change the narrative.

This is gonna sound weird, but Trump's 20-point plan to end the war in Gaza terrifies them. It has the support of Egypt, Qatar, and Turkey and Saudi Arabia. If it ends the war and brings peace to the middle east....also Trump's turnaround on Ukraine. Also, the "we ain't playing no more" attitude of the feds toward antifa. They can't start riots and blame trump - the rioters will face federal time.

Trump is destroying them on immigration.

They need something, anything, to scuff Trump up. They came up with a shut down. Which is beyond desperate.

It sounds weird, but Trump 2.0 seems to be about five steps ahead of the Dems at every turn. he seems to know exactly what they are going to do before they even know what they are going to do. I think he literally spent the last 4 years studying them, plotting out every move and countermove.

The RNC under Michael Whatley (now running for senator in NC) actively stopped fraud in Philly last year.

Now, the RNC is matched with the DOJ Civil Rights Division headed by Harmeet Dhillon who has made it a central pillar of her time in government to attack voting irregularities. She's led several successful lawsuits, already, to clear a bunch of ineligible voters from rolls (100,000 alone in NC).

Combine that with the fed grant machine stopping, and 2026 could be the lowest voting and least expensive midterm in more than a decade.

This is how it should be. I'm an heir on my grandmom's estate (also worth little) and it's been 5 years. I've gotten nothing so far and told my siblings to leave my 2 aunts alone on the issue. When my mom and grandmom were sick at the same time, we cared for my mom, and they cared for grandmom, so if anyone gets to make the call on when to finally let go of the house and finally finish this, it's them. Especially since we're talking a final inheritance to me that might buy my family one night out (b/c we get 3.33% vs my aunt's 40% a piece)...it's not worth ripping up a family for something that wasn't ever really ours...

It is especially dangerous for the blues if the electorate changes party loyalty. A state split geographically might have 80 percent districts and -80 percent. A max gerrymander will have ideally everything 55 pct. But if the electorate shifts mood, there can be a huge swing against the gerrymandered state.

We conclude our look at the 14 key points often used to identify how fascist, or any dictatorial regime, can manipulate a nation into surrendering its freedom. Today we consider the final point, and it’s an important one.

Point Fourteen:

Fraudulent Elections: Sometimes elections in fascist nations are a complete sham. Other times elections are manipulated by smear campaigns against or even assassination of opposition candidates, use of legislation to control voting numbers or political district boundaries, and manipulation of the media. Fascist nations also typically use their judiciaries to manipulate or control elections.

Elections in the United States never have been more efficiently run or more fraud-free than they are today. But you would not know that if you have been listening to Republicans singing along with Donald Trump since he lost the 2020 presidential election. Republicans have been attacking the integrity of our election process at all levels. None of their attacks have stood the test of independent fact checking.

Since she taught me to read with a book emblazoned with Hickory Dickory Dock, I used the money for a seven foot grandfather clock kit and built it.

I've mentioned a couple of times the behavior of my hard-Dem community. I only paid attention this one year when I was working at the local news station, and here's what happened: The City Council had passed three big measures that (would have) changed the town considerably. One was marijuana shops on the very charming tourist trap main drag, the other two I can't remember, but they were classic Dem Lightbulb! ideas.

The citizens rose up like it was France 1788 and RAISED THE MONEY and DID THE WORK to get these measures overturned. They were overturned in landslides.

Aaaaand back to voting solid Dem thereafter.

376 >>> Kim Jong Un orders North Koreans to check women for 'bourgeois' breast implants...

This is facist, but it reminded me of something ironic. My religion teaches our bodies are temple, it's part of why the LDS church in the past didn't allow its members to get tattoos. Don't desecrate what god made perfect. This has been scaled back as we have too many converts with tattoos now.

But the same women who will judge someone for having a tattoo on Sunday, will on Monday go get breast implants, body sculpting, gym visits till she's sick, ozempic shots though she's not diabetic, to be body perfect. One of the top areas of the country for plastic surgery, ozempic, anything to have that perfect body is the stretch of the valley between SLC and Provo. There's weird parts to LDS culture that need to be rooted out. I'm sure every church culture has this, but I'm willing to call out my own people. Do better!

382 Lefties just really aren't funny. They're a bit too self-righteous.

They have no sense of humor about themselves at all; they cannot laugh at themselves. Undeservedly arrogant. Most of their humor is either a*al s*x related or them cutting on people they think are 'beneath' them.

383 >>> 358 348 NYPost:

Changes are brewing — and they could be a sign of a decline in living standards. Maxwell House recently announced it will be changing its name for the first time in 133 years, rebranding to “Maxwell Apartment.” While the coffee blend will remain the same with the same “taste, aroma, quality and ingredients,” the rebrand is in name only to represent the reality of today’s consumers. Nearly a third of Americans are now renting smaller places, rather than purchasing full-size homes — and the coffee giant wants to reflect that stat with its temporary rebrand.

And sometimes the kids are self-made asshoes.
