Criminal Usurper Biden Put Covid Skeptics on Terrorist No-Fly List
WASHINGTON -- The Biden administration put Americans who defied COVID-19 mask mandates on no-fly lists -- some of which are ordinarily used to flag suspected terrorists -- according to preliminary findings from an internal Department of Homeland Security investigation obtained by The Post. DHS flagged 19 Americans to Transportation Security Administration watchlists between Sept. 30, 2021, and Oct. 25, 2021, more than half of whom received the most severe no-fly designation and were prevented from boarding domestic flight as a result. At least 11 of those Americans were kept on the watchlists until April 2022, when a federal court ruling forced the Biden administration to end its mask mandate. Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem said that "Biden's TSA wildly abused their authority" when sharing the findings from the internal investigation, first reported by Fox News, into what the prior administration had dubbed Operation Freedom to Breathe. "Biden's TSA Administrator [David] Pekoske and his cronies abused their authority and weaponized the federal government against the very people they were charged with protecting," Noem said in a statement ...Speaking of firing Democrat political activists who have burrowed into the supposedly non-partisan bureaucracy: Kash Patel fired 20 Democrat activists taking checks from the FBI who wore their FBI vests and windbreakers while kneeling for St. George Floyd of the Bloated Heart.
Noem fired five senior official associated with the operation and referred relevant information to the Department of Justice's Civil Rights Division as well as to members of Congress for further investigation. Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.), who chairs the Homeland Security and Government Affairs Committee, put out a brief report Monday stating that at least 24 Americans were put on TSA watchlists due merely to their association with a protest group called the Freedom to Breathe Agency, which protested mask mandates.
The FBI has fired roughly 20 agents who were photographed kneeling during a 2020 Black Lives Matter protest in Washington, D.C. The decision follows an internal review that found the agents violated bureau standards by engaging in politically charged conduct while on duty. Key Details: The Associated Press reported Saturday that several FBI agents were terminated after being identified in photos kneeling during a BLM protest in the nation's capital. Two sources said the total was about 20.
The FBI Agents Association confirmed the dismissals Friday. The group said it had urged Congress to review the firings, though Director Patel stated that all disciplinary actions were based on violations of bureau policy.
The kneeling occurred as protesters confronted federal agents protecting government buildings and monuments. According to CNN, FBI officials warned at the time that agents were not trained for crowd control and that such displays could compromise their neutrality.

Yes, but many of those have specific authorizations. While you work with and prod Congress to rescind or not renew those, you play the cards that you have.
Besides, the Administration is making examples of personnel at all sorts of agencies, to encourage the others. If there is a buyout 2026 (which won't be nearly as generous as the deferred resignation this year), you'll get a lot more people who "self-deport" from federal service for fear that they're next because they know they're just as guilty for politicizing their government employment and will eventually be fired for cause.
While it's not as satisfying as large scale reductions, what Trump 2.0 is doing may have longer-lasting ramifications.

Heh...I take it I wasn't the only one who read all the Extended Universe" material. It shocks me that Disney would remove all those works from canon. Some of them were pretty great. Aaron Allston, Michael Stackpole. Even Stover, Zahn and Luceno wrote some pretty good stuff. Brian Daley's Han Solo trilogy was fantastic. Instead, Disney hired script writers who knew little to nothing about the characters. And, still haven't bother to learn.

To do that you would have to tear out the entire existing system root and branch, and I mean everything: Medicare, Medicaid, SCHIP, all the health insurance oligarchs, the entire thing and start over from scratch. It took ~80 years of fuckery to get to this place and no amount of fucking around at the margins is going to fix it. It has to be burned out completely and that just won't get the political backing necessary to make it happen.

I still defend making the EU non-canon. New stories that had to navigate decades of novels to find the right story was just too much. They didn't do the best job with the clean slate, but they still had the freedom to pull what they wanted from the EU without having to worry about established canon.
And I reread the Zahn trilogy last year. Holy shitballs is it a terrible trio of books. Like...fucking awful.

This actually goes into one of my theories. I think as a kid you are better able to paraphrase a story in your head and make it better (even through death of the author, like Roschach with the retard.) This is how i explain liking the Thomas Covenant series as a teen and then looking back on it with horror now, seeing the author instead of the world.

Early in the war the Russians had a similar system which was fairly effective but obviously hasn't wiped UKR drones off the map. Presumably both sides have hardened all but the most low level drones (like ones used down to the squad level for recon, say) to a certain extent already.

I appreciated the Covenant series' first three books as a writing project in creating the Land itself and making you love it, and then torturing the reader by ravaging it. Covenant had a reason for not doing what everyone wanted and stuck with it and in the end did save the land and was given a great reward by the warden? Creator?

I used to get so enraged at these XXXXXL plus sized people who rode around in those scooters, because my mom who was so wracked with neuropathy and weak bones that she could barely walk ten feet couldn't get a cart. And they would destroy the things when they sat in them, crushing the seat and using like 6 times the battery power just to get anywhere.
I get it you're fat, you can barely walk. But you're that way because you ate yourself into that shape, stop taking carts from elderly people who are in ruined old bodies you rat bastards

A few years ago I had a friend who was at SXSW in Austin (before it got ruined in a dozen different ways) One of his buddies did security for one of the country stars there that year, and my friend looked out the window of his hotel and saw the singer headed down the sidewalk towards the event center on a big motorized wheelchair.
When he saw his security buddy later, he said "I was so sorry to see that! I didn't know he'd been hurt!" Security guy said "Oh that? He ain't been hurt at all, he's just a big ol lazy fatass."

Even assuming that Trump was 100% motivated by their speech, there's just no way in hell the First protects the speech of visa holders that the Secretary of State, and the Executive, determines is detrimental to their foreign policy.
This decision, on just that point alone, is horrifying--the Judiciary taking for itself foreign policy.
That's not, "I'm merely granting 1st Amendment rights to foreigners in the US" this is "I am re-writing the Constitution and giving supervision of relations with foreign nations to the Judiciary."
That alone could be 8-1 at SCOTUS.

I haven't read any of Zahns Star Wars stuff but I did read his series' about combat enhanced soldiers...one used a drug regimen, the other hardware. They were B class as a writer but readable.
In another SF series the real soldiers comment on such a project ... "Of course lets rebuild the *enlisted* man.." as opposed to improving the officers.
