JK Rowling Finally Blasts Ungrateful Little Rich Bitch Emma Watson For Her Constant Attacks
Emma Watson is a stupid little flake with a weird face and dead eyes who embraced transgender insanity completely when it was trendy and hot.
Now that it's not so trendy and hot, she's attempting to re-position herself as being more moderate. Surely for careerist, conformist reasons. She's a dim bulb and says whatever is popular, when it is popular, because it is popular. (As Ya Boi Zach used to say about bubble-headed feminists who claimed to be into comic books but only after the MCU made them culturally ubiquitous.) After burying Rowling for years, she suddenly announces, "I still treasure JK Rowling." Still? JK Rowling isn't having any of Watson's careerist repositioning.J.K. RowlingShe next turns to Emma Watson's speech at the 2022 BAFTA awards, in which she said "I'm here for all witches." This was taken as a not-so-subtle attack on JK Rowling and a claim of solidarity with transgenders, which is the group she meant by "all witches." (Or maybe she meant that transgenders should be part of the group of (female) witches.) Either way, it was a dunk on JK Rowling.

The idea is as ludicrous as me checking with the boss I had when I was twenty-one for what opinions I should hold these days. Emma Watson and her co-stars have every right to embrace gender identity ideology. Such beliefs are legally protected, and I wouldn't want to see any of them threatened with loss of work, or violence, or death, because of them. However, Emma and Dan in particular have both made it clear over the last few years that they think our former professional association gives them a particular right - nay, obligation - to critique me and my views in public. Years after they finished acting in Potter, they continue to assume the role of de facto spokespeople for the world I created. When you've known people since they were ten years old it's hard to shake a certain protectiveness. Until quite recently, I hadn't managed to throw off the memory of children who needed to be gently coaxed through their dialogue in a big scary film studio. For the past few years, I've repeatedly declined invitations from journalists to comment on Emma specifically, most notably on the Witch Trials of JK Rowling. Ironically, I told the producers that I didn't want her to be hounded as the result of anything I said.
The television presenter in the attached clip highlights Emma's 'all witches' speech, and in truth, that was a turning point for me, but it had a postscript that hurt far more than the speech itself. Emma asked someone to pass on a handwritten note from her to me, which contained the single sentence 'I'm so sorry for what you're going through' (she has my phone number). This was back when the death, rape and torture threats against me were at their peak, at a time when my personal security measures had had to be tightened considerably and I was constantly worried for my family's safety. Emma had just publicly poured more petrol on the flames, yet thought a one line expression of concern from her would reassure me of her fundamental sympathy and kindness. Like other people who've never experienced adult life uncushioned by wealth and fame, Emma has so little experience of real life she's ignorant of how ignorant she is. She'll never need a homeless shelter. She's never going to be placed on a mixed sex public hospital ward. I'd be astounded if she's been in a high street changing room since childhood. Her 'public bathroom' is single occupancy and comes with a security man standing guard outside the door. Has she had to strip off in a newly mixed-sex changing room at a council-run swimming pool? Is she ever likely to need a state-run rape crisis centre that refuses to guarantee an all-female service? To find herself sharing a prison cell with a male rapist who's identified into the women's prison? I wasn't a multimillionaire at fourteen. I lived in poverty while writing the book that made Emma famous. I therefore understand from my own life experience what the trashing of women's rights in which Emma has so enthusiastically participated means to women and girls without her privileges. The greatest irony here is that, had Emma not decided in her most recent interview to declare that she loves and treasures me - a change of tack I suspect she's adopted because she's noticed full-throated condemnation of me is no longer quite as fashionable as it was - I might never have been this honest. Adults can't expect to cosy up to an activist movement that regularly calls for a friend's assassination, then assert their right to the former friend's love, as though the friend was in fact their mother. Emma is rightly free to disagree with me and indeed to discuss her feelings about me in public - but I have the same right, and I've finally decided to exercise it.

Harry Potter was a phenomenon and it make JK one of the very rare writer billionaires. Which is all fine.
But the books aren't that good. I have read the first 4 books maybe 50 times, the last two books? Twice.

The feminization of politics, healthcare and education. Pop culture, from movies to games to books and everything else. I enjoyed the Harry Potter books and also enjoyed the movies. There were some truly impressive actors in those movies. Rickman, Gary Oldman, Dame Maggie Smith, Robbie Coltrane, Warwick Davis. People forget that Richard Harris was Dumbledore in the first two movies or that Robert Pattinson died in the fourth.
All of the movies showed some sort of lock. Different lock in each movie and different reason for it. I still think the books and movies are an interesting take on Arthurian legend.

One guy who spent a lot of time with developing his magic system over a series of books set in a common world with different protagonists is Lawrence Watt Evans. I came across a documentary on Tubi entitled Civil Hoax about people who believe the Civil War never actually happened. It's not a unified front. Different people have different ideas. Some think the Civil War hoax was created to cover up a space alien invasion of Earth. Others think it was just an excuse to increase government power. Etc.

So, as the guy took the ornaments off the tree, I would look at it and put a sticker on it with my subjective price on it.
Good times. Hopefully, the USPS will be more organized than that.

Here's my theory about Emma ruining the Belle ballgown dress in live action Disney Beauty and the Beast.
The marvelous Jason Isaacs, in building his HP role, invented the whole look of Lucious. The production crew originally wanted to have Lucious be in a business suit with short clipped hair. Jason was like why on earth would Lucious dress like a bloody Muggle? He had to sell them hard on the wig, the sweeping robes, the cane, everything. But then it was amazing on film and the rest is history.
I think Emma, brat she was, watched this play out and was like oh, I wanna do that too! Not realizing that Jason is 100% more talented.
Well, in the Beauty and the Beast film, she FOUGHT with the costume designer to design the Belle ballgown costume the way SHE wanted it to look. Which was dull, so very dull. The live action production was leaning heavily into the Rococo time period. I wanted Belle's ballgown to be OTT, resplendent Rococo glamor, like Audra's was in the film:

I tried reading and watching a couple the movies unsuccessfully. The ability to just call up spells and random magic at any time to move the plot along made it seem like just a child's story. The only counterpoint is that both good and bad wizards use magic and oppose each other. They evidently have some connection with the muggle world since it is hinted that WWII was part of a much larger struggle between good and evil wizardly forces. Dumbledore was a hero in that struggle.

I think it can be argued that magic in the LOTR is rare and rarely used. By contrast the wizarding world in Harry Potter uses magic the way the muggles use technology. The only counterpoint is that both good and bad wizards use magic and oppose each other. They evidently have some connection with the muggle world since it is hinted that WWII was part of a much larger struggle between good and evil wizardly forces. Dumbledore was a hero in that struggle.

It kind of reminds me of Green Lantern. For ages and in cartoons he is just swatting people with comically large hammers or flyswatters or hands. Then they actually thought about it in the comics and realized, it could be truly horrifying if you put your mind to it. It works of will and imagination after all.

Looper was a stupid movie. Anyone used to time travel paradoxes in written science fiction could see plot holes big enough to throw a time machine through. I was thoroughly disappointed with it as was my wife (also a long time SF fan) when our nieces and nephew played it for us. They thought it was wonderful. We saw it ran on rails, and where you could, and should, get off the rails. It’s ending didn’t seem inevitable to us at all! YMMV!

I like the magic system in the anime series Secrets of the Silent Witch. Most magic users must make often elaborate and complex chants to invoke magic.
