The Puppy In the Plastic Bubble Cafe

boothedog.jpg

The tawny frogmouth.

Sad, shut-down dog in the last cage at the shelter is so happy to finally have a visitor.

Mother duck parades back and forth to get the attention of people, because her nine ducklings have fallen through the cracks of a storm drain. (It has a nice ending.)

I posted this ages ago: Orphaned baby kangaroo and orphan baby wombat become inseparable besties.

Orphaned baby bear makes a friend. Eventually.

A dog that got lost and wandered 240 miles from his home is so excited when his owners drive 20 hours to pick him up from a distant shelter.

One of the greatest, rev-you-up TV openings of all time. I think this is an edit of the opening of the original TV movie, mixed with the opening of the TV series that would follow.

Such bountiful natural* splendor. * Cite?

Top ten dogs of the week. #3 will shock you!!!

ZeFrank on the wonders of bats. Bonus: Bauhaus doing Bela Lugosi's Dead at Coachella.

Dog got himself stuck on a roof but a guy goes out to make a kinda-dangerous rescue.

Beautiful dog pogos in excitement on adoption day.

People are afraid of this pittie but he just wants to make frenz.

For Sea Otter Awareness week: Ruby the sea otter.

Service dog drop-out -- he got too excited and jumped up to greet new people -- is now just a pet, but he tries to be helpful.

The Crufts Kennel Club holds an agility contest specifically for rescue dogs.

And how did they do?

They did their best.

Bubble-puppy finally leaves the bubble:

16 It's a shame Bauhaus couldn't make it stick. I saw them when they toured my city 2005 too. They did well with their set list and there was no obvious tension in the band.
Apparently they admitted that Murphy / Love & Rockets are just two different kinds of band and decided to split before they got in a brawl like the Police did.
But I thought the tension is what made Bauhaus better than Murphy or L&R.

There was this stupid story the lefty idiots were pushing about Trump and Melania in the chopper when they landed back at the WH after than UN incident. Trump was seen through the windows "wagging his finger at Melania!", and she was "shaking her head". The bully Trump was berating his wife. Hell, he might've been about to hit her or something.

Well, guess what, according to "forensic lip readers", thank you Daily Mail, he was pissed off. Not at her, but at the UN escalator thing. You note she lurched forward a bit when it abruptly stopped.

He was apparently very pissed about that, and was going on about it with her. You can probably thank Melania for keeping Trump from launching an air strike against the UN.

Most of my cats have been mixed breeds from shelters or were "found" cats. Marie-Antoinette the smart black cat was a mixed medium-hair, as is Stirling now. The Siberians (one a found cat, in a parking lot, no less) were purebreds, including little Dagny now. The Siberians were all smart, but either prickly or sickly. 106 Most of my cats have been mixed breeds from shelters or were "found" cats. Marie-Antoinette the smart black cat was a mixed medium-hair, as is Stirling now. The Siberians (one a found cat, in a parking lot, no less) were purebreds, including little Dagny now. The Siberians were all smart, but either prickly or sickly. Dagny is the healthiest and most normal Siberian yet.

Since childhood, she’s been part of various space programs and simulations, including the Advanced PoSSUM Space Academy, showing her deep commitment to space exploration.

While the claim that she’s “not coming back” is speculative, Carson has expressed willingness to be part of long-duration Mars colonization missions — where returning to Earth may not be initially possible. Her journey symbolizes the bold human spirit pushing the boundaries of exploration and science.

The Ukraine thing is interesting. At first we had cartoonishly bad NAFO propaganda insisting the Russians were desperately cannibalizing appliances for computer chips. Also that their goal was to drive to the Vistula, but the plucky Ukrainians stopped them.

So I looked to other commenters, and they seemed to be more grounded. Less hyperbole, actual discussions of tactics, logistics and such.

But now I'm coming to realize that those guys aren't "realists" so much as Russian shills/self-loathing Americans who hate Trump and just want Russia to win for some odd reason. Maybe they're being paid.

Trump asked for a cease fire, and we were told Zelenskyyy was the delusional obstacle. But now the Russians are acting like they already won, so Trump is making life painful for them, pushing NATO to reopen arsenals and actually spending their own money for a change.

Now Russia is crying. I thought they had the upper hand? It's all so confusing.

I extend thanks to the opposition parties and exponents who, taking up the wise words of President Mattarella - to whom we are grateful - invited the Flotilla activists to accept the proposed alternative solutions and in particular to deliver the aid to Cyprus, to the Patriarchate of Jerusalem.

At this stage, it is vital to work to ensure the safety of those involved and not to go along with those who claim that the objective of the initiative must be to force an Israeli naval blockade. A choice that would be extremely dangerous.

Her journey symbolizes the bold human spirit pushing the boundaries of exploration and science.

It's a transshipment point. The fleet sails to Cyprus, where the Patriarchate takes possession of the relief aid and distributes it through its own channels, which are far more transparent than Hamas and will actually help people.

So the 2WAY gang says that Kamala is screwing her political future with her book, blaming a bunch of people and whatever. They point to articles in the Washington Post in which some dimly identifiable "source" contradicts her and turns the blame back on her.

How does this hurt her except in her ability to gather a team and some donors? Her supporters don't care which ex-chief of staff she shafted. They don't make intricate linkages in some WaPo insider story.

South Carolina Black women will fling themselves on her. She has supporters who watch her drunken interviews and exclaim how elegant and poised she is, and what a great president she would have made.

I've been wondering about that for the past week. ONT is almost here!
