ABC, Which Just Got Shot Up by a Bitter Left-Wing Extremist, Agrees to Bring Back Unfunny Sack of Fat Jimmy Kimmel After, Get This, "Thoughtful Conversations"

LOL. Right.

disneyjimmykimmelthoughtful.jpg

This seems to be political pressure from left-wing office-holders. That's okay, though, as we established from 2008 through 2021.

Again, the late night talk show is a dead format, its like the Red Mill Flour Entertainment Hour with Red Buttons, its something from the past that has no market any longer. They'll all be gone by 2026 because they all lose money and are losing advertisers. Kimmel is in the last year of his contract and ain't no way he gets renewed.

I still recall, early in the 2016 race, there were a bunch of "candidates" on the stage for a debate, some heated conversation had been going on between, maybe Trump and Fatso from New Jersey, or somebody else, and Ted Cruz is standing there.

At one point, it's Ted's turn to talk, and he starts in on some point he was going to make, when the "moderator" said "Sorry, we have to go to a break."

When they came back from the break, they went right to some other candidate. Ted Cruz had been well and truly silenced by some dim broad from teevee.

He listed like a dozen examples in the past 10 years at rallies and events where someone on the right was physically assaulted by the left, and either moved away or didn't fight back.

He said: that era is done. We are done showing restraint because you are idiot children and lunatics, we are done showing you patience. We'll end up in prison just like before but we're not going to just take it any longer.

130 I asked Grok about "Terrorism works" and Fragility:

Taleb analyzes the medieval Shiite Assassins as a model of "efficient" terrorism: a small sect used precise assassinations (e.g., leaving a dagger by a target's bed) to intimidate rulers without broader war, preventing civilian deaths while achieving political goals. This shows how minority violence can be "marketing" for power—intimidating enemies into compliance without verbal threats, as the act itself proves capability.

Grok goes on in depth about how Taleb's concepts on fragile systems, society, etc. support the assertion that "Terrorism works"

Not for Sinclair apparently and NexGen has to get FCC approval for a merger. Plus, Scotus just allowed Trump to fire a Dem FTC commissioner which means the remaining Dems on the FCC may get the hook as well.

Disney impaled itself into a no win situation whether they keep Kimmel to please the left, he is a drag now on the whole network and likely to do more embarrassing and costly shit. Or if they piss off the normies, it will lead to perhaps a group of affiliates turning off Jimmy (late night network shows are not a guaranteed showing I think) And further alienation of those on the right from ABC?Disney even more.

I know TJM thinks Disney is in okay position but they are heavily leveraged due to borrowing for streaming, past their prime on both parks and cruises, and their present offerings are shabby in broadcast, network, etc.

Disney held the line so far but Iger is on borrowed time due to age andsituations that he himself caused--Kathleen Kennedy, Feige, and now Kimmel, buying binge, etc.

I will say that I also agree to boycott any entertainment product employing Mark Ruffalo, Marisa Tomei and Padro Pascal, NOT produced by Disney, just in case.

I did have one question though. I did not see any pledge from Mark Ruffalo, Marisa Tomei or Padro Pascal to return the money they were paid by Disney. One would think if they planned on pitching their tent on the Moral High Ground, they would not hesitate to return the filthy lucre paid to them to prance around in front of a green screen FOR Disney. Otherwise, their whole moral high ground stance seems a bit ... hypocritical.

169 I asked Grok about "Terrorism works" and Fragility:

Taleb analyzes the medieval Shiite Assassins as a model of "efficient" terrorism: a small sect used precise assassinations (e.g., leaving a dagger by a target's bed) to intimidate rulers without broader war, preventing civilian deaths while achieving political goals. This shows how minority violence can be "marketing" for power—intimidating enemies into compliance without verbal threats, as the act itself proves capability.

Grok goes on in depth about how Taleb's concepts on fragile systems, society, etc. support the assertion that "Terrorism works"
Posted by: pawn at September 22, 2025 06:26 PM (PmITa)

Did they follow that up with the fact that the Mongols took some time off when vacationing in the Levant and took the Assassin castle and killed the entire organization to a man?

That's what happens when somebody competent learns that there is an assassin organization near them.

How about forgetting the stupid optics analysis which is never really true for the masses anyway.

Let's say Carr goes ahead and does his FCC investigation for ABC breaking the regulations for broadcasting false information about a crime (which is what Carr said) and makes ABC grant equal time to people pissing on Jimmy on his show about his lies. FCC already has this in its regs and has already been vetted by Scotus in Red Lion Broadcasting case in the 60's.

That means Fat Jimmy opens his mouth about politics and policy, his show has to present equal time to someone debunking his shit.

Reagan FCC discontinued enforcing Fairness Doctrine but it is still in the Regs and can shove a big nasty green dildo of truth up ABC's shows like the Spew, etc.

And I think Carr and Trump's FCC are in the mood to do just that.

They are apparently making money on their cruises and parks, merchandizing etc but they have lost so much money on movies just this year (600 million is the total I saw, probably more) and streaming is a big trash can they burn money in. I dunno how much longer they can keep this up.

Yeah, how he starts his next show will be very illuminating. Even if it's a pathetic, "I'm sorry my words were taken as hurtful to some people," it will be devastating, as the Left will flip-out over him "bending the knee", conservatives and normies don't watch anyway, so they just hurt themselves more.

If he doesn't apologize, or worse, doubles down, it just accelerates the already relentless decline in viewers. And might get Fed involvement in ABC and Disney. He might "win" the battle to get back on the air, but he literally can't win the war.

Yep. I would prefer Mike Lee to Scalia but there are a lot of legal talent not from Ivy league schools that would be better justices. No more Ivy Leaguers.

240 Everybody should dvr Jimmy Kimmel and find out who advertise on the show locally and let them know you will no longer patronize their business.
Also, let your local ABC station know you will no longer watch any of their programming if they show Kimmel.

242 This really doesn't look good for rational people, honestly. Since Kimmel was suspended, Disney stock actually did fall over 2%. Considering that the general market has been climbing recently and there doesn't seem to be any other proximate cause, this means the Antifa contingent still holds way too much sway over corporate operations than is healthy for a Republic.

Symptom, not cause. Still does not make it 'work' because the other side always gets a vote.

Can we honestly say it worked in Sarajevo? Russia?, Germany in Berlin postwar, Bela Kun? Did it work for the Jews opposing Rome?

Simply put, you have to have the forces preexisting to be able to somewhat capitalize on it like Krystallnacht for the Not Sees. Terrorism by and of itself does little when you have some degenerates shoot/kill/maim individuals other than possibly getting a number of other people killed.

In most historical cases, it simply is a prelude to Civil War, not victory as such and even there it probably weakens the side doing it more than the side that opposed it.

Most military analysts ignore the moral side of war--using terrorism by a side undermines it while not doing so gives it a moral edge especially when competing for hearts and minds.

"He started it" is pretty powerful argument that actually scales well in moral persuasion of neutrals.

1.) This is what I mean about platitudes - that is demonstrably untrue. Force is more effective than outreach, and always has been.

2.) Winning hearts and minds is definitely a good thing in addition, but it's nothing without fear. You can't get within a mile of winning any hearts if everyone thinks you're a pussy while they're terrified of your enemies.

This has always been the way of the world--it was just better masked in the US and West for a time.

Most of us here never really considered Charlie Kirk to be the voice of teh GOP future. At best, he was viewed as a college campus speaker guy along with Steve Crowder, Shapiro back in teh day, etc. And compared to Crowder, Shapiro, etc. Charlie would come off as the Sunday School kid.

But it turns out niceness and willing to be open worked in his case and there are something over 10 thousand hours of Charlie on video espousing Christianity and its implications on policy now.

Having a moral cause and hope to fight for is necessary to cause young people, with the most to lose, to take up the work in saving civilization. It ain't the old sour farts, including me that will save us, it will be as it always was, the kids that must come through. Charlie gave those kids hope and meaning in life, and they are the ones most bitter about that loss.

259 How about groups like TPUSA making a show of strength and calling on their membership to attend their events armed to the teeth?

How about a lot of loaded, threatening language toward the Left and their assassins?

How about right wingers firing anyone they suspect of being Leftists in their organizations?

How about Trump proscribing their terrorist militias, and then hunting down their members ruthlessly, instead of showing up at the funeral to do a ridiculous g-ddamned campaign speech about MAHA?

How about literally anything besides puking up puerile platitudes about forgiveness and turning down the temperature?

It's all just pathetic.

Most people cannot figure out second order, let along third order ramifications from events. Even if planned. Unplanned stupidity by loosely organized terror cells almost always result in a bad backlash politically and socially. And those reactions take time to work their acidic magic destroying the 'cause' that the perps of the terror thought they were accomplishing.

Spot on. I got one to add to your list.

How about we drop the "toggle switch" metaphor? Because it's really just a cope. Not much different from the "rue the day" impotence of rescheduling Justice to some future date that will never arrive.

Are we really so feeble-minded that we can't imagine any path between Do Nothing and Fire Everything? If that's true then we deserve to lose.
