What kind of pathetic quality control is this?

One balloon is merrily floating high in the ~~sky~~ family room, while the other one is lollygagging around on the floor, and has been for days!

I would be sympathetic if one was slightly..SLIGHTLY...more buoyant than the other, but this is ridiculous.

Where is President Trump when we need him?

That's rough. You may have to do what I have been doing the last couple winters because of finances. Wrap your self in R-15 pink fiberglass insulation. The Owens-Corning is slightly less itchy than the Johns Manville. The foil barrier is high visibility when you beg at the roadside. It gets dark over a minute earlier every night. Be careful out there and stay toasty!

The reason the UK got involved in Iran and the middle east beginning about 1900 through to the second world war, was that the Royal Navy decided to modernize by switching from coal to oil for their ships, and unlike the modern US navy, they had no native oil.
They have spent so much blood, money and time fighting in that area, they wound up losing much of what they had, and now barely have a navy.

I'm tired of the weird false dichotomy that you either have to be 100% permissive and never have your children face any consequences or you have to beat the shit out of them every time you had a bad day and they look at you funny. Not beating the shit out of your kid for anything and everything and nothing isn't "soft parenting," or even parenting it's just abuse, and what gets displayed as exemplars of "soft parenting" isn't parenting at all either since there is zero guidance and zero consequence. They warp and pervert everything so that "love" and "safe" and "marginalized" do not mean what normal people think they mean. "Safe" to them means being entirely insulated, never hearing a contrary viewpoint or dissenting voice, always being celebrated, never having to face consequences, never having to face disagreement, never being anything but praised, celebrated, coddled, and catered to. When you say anything that doesn't conform to their radical orthodoxy you are making people "unsafe."

It means I won’t allow your actions to dictate my feelings or my actions going forward. I wash my hands of you and will no longer spend time or energy on you.
