The Washington Post over-generously offered a buyout to far-left propagandists who could not temper their partisanship and hyperideological instincts and tack towards the middle.

This far-left extremist refused to take it, because she knows her prospects of getting another well-paid media job.

Prominent opinion columnist and editor Karen Attiah has been fired from The Washington Post over a series of posts she wrote following the murder of Charlie Kirk.
Attiah, 39, said she was sacked last week over the 'unacceptable social media posts' in the wake of the conservative commentator's assassination in Utah.
One read: 'Part of what keeps America so violent is the insistence that people perform care, empty goodness and absolution for white men who espouse hatred and violence.'
Another of the posts, on social media platform Bluesky, said: 'Refusing to tear my clothes and smear ashes on my face in performative mourning for a white man that espoused violence is.... not the same as violence.'
The journalist revealed her firing in a lengthy post on Substack on Monday, which she titled 'The Washington Post Fired Me -- But My Voice Will Not Be Silenced.'

'The Post accused my measured Bluesky posts of being "unacceptable," "gross misconduct" and of endangering the physical safety of colleagues -- charges without evidence, which I reject completely as false,' Attiah wrote.
'They rushed to fire me without even a conversation. This was not only a hasty overreach, but a violation of the very standards of journalistic fairness and rigor the Post claims to uphold.'

She noted that her most shared post on Bluesky following Kirk's death read: 'For everyone saying political violence has no place in this country... Remember two Democratic legislators were shot in Minnesota just this year. And America shrugged and moved on.'
Explaining the post, Attiah wrote on Substack: 'I pointed to the familiar pattern of America shrugging off gun deaths, and giving compassion for white men who commit and espouse political violence. This cycle has been documented for years. Nothing I said was new or false or disparaging-- it is descriptive, and supported by data.'
Attiah said she only directly referenced Kirk once, when she shared one of his quotes: 'Black women do not have the brain processing power to be taken seriously. You have to go steal a white person's slot.'
'Washington D.C. no longer has a paper that reflects the people it serves,' the columnist said.
'What happened to me is part of a broader purge of Black voices from academia, business, government, and media -- a historical pattern as dangerous as it is shameful -- and tragic.'

Attiah rose to prominence as the hiring editor for Saudi journalist Jamal Khashoggi, who was murdered in Istanbul by the Saudi regime in 2018.

She is no stranger to controversy over her social media posts.
Attiah was previously in hot water in 2021 after saying in a since-deleted post that white women were 'lucky' that black people are 'just calling them Karens and not calling for revenge.'
Before deleting the post, she doubled down on the remark in the comments section, saying: 'I'm just saying. Be happy we are calling for equality. And not actual revenge.'

Not violent! Just be happy her black cousins aren't slitting white women's throats on trains.

Two different ones. The arms dealer, IIRC was Adnan Khashoggi, the nephew or some such was the journalist. The nephew's faction lost out on the internal war for the Saudi crown and Bin Talal wanted them out of the country for it.

I watched a lot of Charlie's vids this past week. Many lump all these guys who go onto college campuses together, but Charlie was masterful. Maybe I'm missing the selection of vids where he was nasty or mean to the person on the mike opposite him, but I never saw it.

Typically, their arguments are the same as that little post from Nepo Bill. Filled with nothing. Just a bunch of spilled words, adding up to nothing. Just epithets: "You're a nazi, you are taking away the rights of [fill in interest group here].

It's understandable when you're in your late teens/early 20s. As a 70 year old adult though, you just sound pathetic.

I saw literally dozens of video clips last week where a parent was surprised their teenagers not only knew Charlie, but were shook up at his assassination. Most had no idea their kids knew or followed him.
While I am sad, I am also uplifted that so many young people are aware and thinking of Charlie and the issues that were so important to him. His influence is still being uncovered. It is certainly underestimated.

I think the worst was the footage of no one sitting and watching what had just happened lifting a finger to help this girl, not even the very minimum and of trying to put pressure on the wound or even comfort her. Catholic Church has done a lot of that. Sex outside of marriage, abortions, shacking up, showing up on Christmas and Easter only... lots of non-practicing Catholics allowed to pretend to be "of the faith" without really walking the walk.

Perhaps a bit of a slippery slope, but I don't think the problem was necessarily that the left was using terms to describe Republicans that were NOT TRUE.

When they referred to this or that pol as racist or homophobic or xenophobic or whatever. When they spit the word capitalist at them, claiming they don't care about the little guy, only their fatcat donors...

656 Calling someone a fascist sounds like free speech, but it is, in today’s political climate, incitement to violence, even assassination!

Yeah, its free speech but its been turned into a call for violence that the left is responding to. They have repeatedly and openly cried that fascists are not human, that fascists are evil and anything you do to them is all right, they have refused to prosecute people who did violence in the name of fascism, and have straight up called for people to hit and harm fascists.

So... when they say "that's a fascist" they are straight up saying "there's your target, crazies." And the know it

Not to be a broken record but yet again, the left constantly says "you cannot say that kind of thing after a terrorist attack because it might stir up the crazies to violence." They even came up with a stupid academic phrase "stochastic terrorism" to describe it. They know what they are doing.

659 I saw a pic of Iryna in her apartment with a BLM poster hanging on the wall. That cleared up the mystery of why she sat in front of that psycho and was oblivious, looking at her phone with earbuds on. Since coming to the US she had been "educated" that blacks are helpless victims, whites are violent oppressors.
