The Morning Rant: Minimalist Edition

punk-monkey.jpg

The inevitable result of the leftist "Long March Through The Institutions" has been the destruction of traditional education, replaced with a putrid soup of half-baked education theories, all buttressed by virulent indoctrination in every progressive ideal. Communitarianism, pacifism, rejection of traditional sex roles, rejection of religion, elevating the environment over humanity, and on and on.

We have seen the broken students that their system has produced, in Antifa and BLM and SJP and the obscene campus Jew-Hate and Christian-Hate, and most recently with the assassination of Charlie Kirk by Small Penis Coward (I won't use his name).

Charter schools and home schooling is the only way in the short and medium term that American parents can save their children from the depredations of the educational left. And the left is very well aware of that, thus their unrelenting attacks on charter schools as some bastion of the antebellum South or Hitler Youth summer camps.

And now they are coming after home schooling!

New Jersey homeschool families fight back as state tries to mandate DEI teachings in their homes

A new bill in New Jersey could require homeschooling parents to teach their kids about controversial topics such as diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI).

The proposal, which is still under review, would force homeschooling parents to submit a curriculum in line with state learning standards. That includes subjects like gender identity, sexual orientation, DEI and climate studies.

It would also add more oversight to homeschooling, requiring families to submit a portfolio of student work every year to be evaluated by either a teacher or a licensed psychologist.

Supporters claim the new rules would help improve transparency about what kids are being taught at home. They also say it could potentially help protect children from being trapped in abusive situations.

Because New Jersey's public schools are incredibly safe from physical violence, crumbling infrastructure, and sexual predation by teachers!

Imagine a couple of blue-haired, pierced and tatted freaks from your local school system with the power to control your home schooling curriculum! The Bible? YOU CAN'T READ THAT! Robert E. Lee? NO! HE WAS A RACIST! Calvin Coolidge? WHITE SUPREMACIST! American Exceptionalism? WE ARE ALL GUILTY! Two Sexes? HOW DARE YOU!

But there is hope, as America may very well have awakened to the existential danger of the progressive world view. The outpouring of support for Charlie Kirk from much of normal America may be the last gasp of a dying culture, but it also may be the spark that energizes us to take back our schools, our streets, and our political structures.

I doubt a Republican win but I suspect a smaller loss than normal.

Turning red from blue doesn't mean suddenly deeply Republican. It means...becoming less blue until it's purple.

Same guy lost in 2021 by 3.22%. Match that? Slightly closer? It's possible.

Also, the public polling from September of 2021 was...kind of horrible. Four polls.

50-41
47-39
51-38
45-42

Most data points aren't even within the margin for error for the final result.

51-48.

How will the result play out? I don't know. Probably not going to be the current polling, though.

59 I've said this for years ever since this shit started that it's going to be just about impossible to turn things around sine the Leftist agenda has been baked into the cake by the schools for at least a generation.

In even the red regions you will find the rot if you look at the schools. The parents may fly the flag but the kids...are glued to their fake "friends" on the little screen that passes for reality to them these days.

It's the young that are willing to gamble, older folks think they have too much to lose. So any change will be done by them or whoever leads them.

Department of Education
Keeping Our Students Safe, Healthy & In School
Frequently Asked Questions: Homeschooling

14. Does a child educated elsewhere than at school receive a high school diploma from the local board of education?

A child educated elsewhere than at school does not receive a state-endorsed high school diploma from the board of education. If the child educated elsewhere than at school re-enrolls in the public school to obtain a high school diploma, an assessment is made as to the child’s compliance with state and local requirements and eligibility for a high school diploma.

The child educated elsewhere than at school may also obtain a New Jersey State High School Diploma: by passing the General Educational Development (GED) Test; or by completing 30 general education credits leading to a degree at an accredited institution of higher education and by performing at the proficient or advanced proficient level of achievement in all sections of the High School Proficiency Assessment (HSPA).

Physics and Geometry. Weights and Measures. The word problems are funny. Literal apples and oranges stuff. The town only had about 250 people then and a 3 room schoolhouse. Which another grandfather owned later on. I suspect he was in class with highschoolers too as three rooms meant really 3 grades.
It's cool to look at how education was done back then. Three colors of pencils and a notepad. No movies or calculators.

122 A new bill in New Jersey could require homeschooling parents to teach their kids about controversial topics such as diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI).

Does it mandate what must be taught? Because I would happily homeschool a unit on DEI as long as I get to decide the contents.

It would also add more oversight to homeschooling, requiring families to submit a portfolio of student work every year to be evaluated by either a teacher or a licensed psychologist.

You can bet that the portfolios they want to implement will require regurgitation of all the "correct" views. So a child that says DEI is unconstitutional, and is advocated by wannabe fascists, will be found lacking.

128 I watched Star Trek Section 31 last night. It was almost universally loathed. Pro critics are corrupt imbeciles who watch movies through their assholes. I wouldn't wipe my ass with their opinions. But the audience ratings for Section 31 were also in the toilet.

Here's the thing: I thought Section 31 was good. Yes, I did. There was some annoyingly woke casting, but Michelle Yeoh was great as a compelling character. The plot was pretty good, with enough twists and turns to keep you interested. The ending was wrapped up too quickly, though. It was like they ran out of time or money.

I think most of the haterade comes from the movie not being a "Star Trek movie." But it's not supposed to be. It's supposed to tell a related story in the ST universe, but not be a ST movie.

It's a small, expensive state in which to live. That means that the parents are unusually accomplished, and have options such as tutoring. You see something very similar in NoVa. We have the country's best HS in Thomas Jefferson HS for SandT. The school system, despite it's best efforts to destroy the school with quotas, never hesitates to claim that they are responsible for the school's stellar performance. In fact, the school excels because most of the students are either hard-driven Asians (Orientals and Indians), or come from highly educated white parents.

Tribe is a remarkable piece of shit, the Keith Olberman of Legal "experts". His so-called reputation is based entirely on the fact that he was a liberal law professor at Harvard for 52 years. Idiots in the Senate used to talk about making him a Supreme Court Justice - wow was that a bullet dodged by us!
Notable ex-students, research assistants, and disciples of his (from wiki): Adam Schiff, Merrick Garland, Elena Kagan, Jamie Raskin.... Barak Obama .... and of course, Chief Justice John Roberts.

He is a nexus of evil.

IOW in 4th grade I'd be in the 5th grade "reading" class.

This went through all of elementary school; grades K-6 for me. And it determined the placement in junior high as to whether you'd be in remedial English, basic or advanced. Then, again the same for high school. To the point I'd just take the final, senior English exam as a sophomore.

This also worked with math. Which I failed at miserably.

🔴 Republicans: 40% (+11)

It's about expectations of the results, not preferences, and even YouGov who is both terrible and terribly biased towards Democrats shows...many more people expect Republican wins in the near future.

Does that mean they will? YouGov sucks, so mountain of salt.

However, I look at it as Democrats just being generally...depressed right now.

That's bullshit. He's saying that we could have our opinions - as long as we didn't expect for them to matter, we could have our morals - as long as we didn't expect to be able to live by them, we could express our beliefs... ah, that's where it breaks down. They never let the normies express their beliefs. Ever. Cancelled. Lost jobs. Banned from the internet.

217 An enterprising homeschooler in NJ would use this as a teaching moment to further distance their "pupils" from the DEI nonsense. First, challenge any material provided as false. In NJ, it's done thusly:
___________
When you find a textbook error, you can report it to the publisher or author for correction in future editions, check for online errata lists or newer editions, and use it as a teachable moment with your child by discussing the error and how to verify information. You should also be respectful and thorough in your reporting, providing specific details like page numbers, and focus on the content rather than attacking the author's credibility.

Then, take the time to explain to your "pupil" why this promotes segregation, poor education, and unfair advantages.

Imagine being a transgender person in America today with all of the hate and demonization that is being directed at them.

I have a trans sib, and I know the stuff being flung at them. They feel they are targets and they feel that they will be a victim of genocide at every moment.

I argue they feel this way NOT because of actual people doing this to them daily, but because Big Gay Inc, both the business side and the political side, NEED them to feel attacked at every moment. Need them to feel helpless, so only Rainbow Inc and daddy guv can save them from the bad MAGA.

LGBT Inc claims the sky falls everyday. It has ginned up the trans movement to create their own antifa wing and their own radicals. By design.

The average trans person is sane. My sib is sane and wouldn't hurt a fly. But they keep getting hounded by these insane messages.

None of that justifies Charlie's death. But I do see why someone could, to defend their trans partner, think shooting Charlie is the only option. Insanity. But it's the media that gins this up.

277 I will say this, and again not as a defense in any way for Charlie's death:

Washington Country, where the killer was from, is the southernmost tip of Utah. Very remote, lots of tiny towns settled by Mormons and have lots of established entrenched families there. Classic small town politics and culture.

Some of those towns are hostile to anyone not of the cultural body, which would be pioneer stock, normie Christian conservative families. So if the killer felt out of place with a trans partner, being gay themselves, I do feel for them.

BUT, I know plenty of people who are in the same boat, politically or sexually divergent from the small town culture they live in. None of these people would dream of hurting anyone, ever. They just want to be left alone to live their lives as they see fit.

I feel for anyone who feels isolated, different, shunned. But that is no reason to justify any of what he did. And the people on the left doing it are horrible.

It's the cartels.

A few years ago I was offered a significant position on board Kirtland.

When deciding whether or not to take it, I started researching and found that there are two major highways that intersect there, and that that junction is one of the most highly-trafficked cartel road in America.

Many, many other bad things flow downhill from that.

As Michael Knowles succinctly put it, since conservatives winning elections and wanting to debate ideas is now a killing offense in the eyes of leftists, it is now incumbent and essential that conservatives implement their moral vision by, in the parlance of the leftist and in a manner they can understand, any means necessary.

I think it was Bongino who Xeeted a short message earlier that the FBI was tracking down multiple individuals who may have been involved in Kirk's assassination. Or knew of it before hand.

The stupid old fuck George Zinn is already being held... not sure what he's been charged with, if anything. Probably going to sweat him for a couple days and see who he turns on.

4/10 on the FBI's Most Wanted List were arrested over the course of THE ENTIRE Biden regime

I guess when you're not sending FBI agents after parents who are concerned about trannies in their daughter's bathrooms and staging Patriot Front protests, you can get real work done.

Posted by: LizLem at September 16, 2025 12:08 PM (gWBY1)

Genocide = deliberate and systematic destruction of a group of people because of their ethnicity, nationality, religion, or race.

They "feel" that way, because leftists have defined down what genocide is. Oh no, I burned my mouth on my hot pocket. It's a genocide. Seriously, look up the wikipedia definition. It can include almost anything.

So the perceived "genocide" becomes part and parcel of their delusion, their identity.

Sick leftists are abusing these vulnerable people for their own twisted, divisive and destructive ends.

288 He could have been coordinating with the shooter. But I've heard this guy is a known nutbag. It's entirely possible he was drawing attention away from the real shooter because he's a nut and nuts do nutty things. Either way, I hope he gets real charges like accessory after the fact.
Posted by: bonhomme at September 16, 2025 12:11 PM (lIio7)

There's two possibilities. He was part of the plan and figured he'd get off because he didn't have a gun or residue. But that instantly makes him eligible for the death penalty.

Or he had nothing to do with it, and in an instant after seeing a man murdered, he had the presence of mind to conclude the shot was from his side, so he decided in the moment to distract and mislead police into thinking no further search was necessary.

291 None of that justifies Charlie's death. But I do see why someone could, to defend their trans partner, think shooting Charlie is the only option. Insanity. But it's the media that gins this up.

In thinking about the Kirk shooter, the phrase "useful idiot" comes frequently to mind.

293 So, I'm seeing a rumor that supposedly the shooter might have had a second gay lover? And this person might have been a furry?

Not to make light of the shooting, but if you were writing this as an actual movie or TV script, the editors would make you eliminate some of the plot twists, because they are just too ridiculous.

See also, George Zinn turning himself into a red herring.

This. The admissions office of every college that's worth anything at all is well aware (and has been for many years) that the credentials submitted by homeschooled high schoolers are far better evidence of achievement than anything issued by government schools.
