Partner, huh?

First "straight man" ever to call his girlfriend/fiancée his "partner."

Lewis and Booker, 56, have been "dating" for about a year and a half, and "share a home" in Washington, DC, he told the Washington Examiner earlier this month.

They went from "dating" to "living together" to "engaged" in a year and a half.

I'm sure the political calendar has nothing to do with the pace of this "romance."

Judicial review being ignored by the political branches is kind of like getting rid of the filibuster in the Senate--the original was there for a reason but the question is whether time and present circumstances have hollowed out its usefulness.

The original was actually fairly neutral in effect as Scotus did not use Marbury as justification to turn over another federal law until Dred Scott. Marshall himself undercut his own ruling later (Justice Johnson called him out on it in a rare dissent in the case of Ex Parte Bollman and Swarthout (Burr co conspirators cases). Was a replay of the Judiciary Act except section 14 granting habeas powers to Scotus was involved. Marshall and most of the court was just fine with that Congressional extension of power when they weren't with writs of mandamus that were similarly justified under common law powers in Blackstone.

I don't agree at all. Casting the first stone and all that. Women are fucking horrible to one another on basis of looks and a thousand other factors and it's statistically unlikely that any female on this smart military blog has never said "ugh that the hell is that bitch wearing" under her breath. Marshall and most of the court was just fine with that Congressional extension of power when they weren't with writs of mandamus that were similarly justified under common law powers in Blackstone.

I read about 40-45 pages of the opinion before quitting as they basically stuffed the district court judge over and over again for each legal error she committed. Like reading and grading a bad student paper, at some point, you just put an F on it and move on to the next one. I think the 11th Circuit was sending a message with this opinion to stop the weak ass Resist We Much lawfare ignoring precedent, law, and the Federal Rules of procedure to reach your desired political result.
