For example, though often referred to as "socialist", all of the Scandinavian countries have market economies. For fun, I had Grok run the orbital numbers. Placing earth in a orbit around Saturn at the Moon's current distance, whole system at earths' current distance of 1 au.

Orbital period would be 21.3 hours. Earth would tidally lock quickly, same side facing Saturn. Day would 21.3 hours long, as we're still going around the sun, but whipping around Saturn like a mofo.

Now, having it calculate the ocean tide expectations. Even with the tidal locking, they would still be significant, with sloshing water.

My theory is conforms to this. It has two parts (if pixy limit permits)
1. Leftism is the "white noise" of ideology. It is ideology without information, like the white noise on a radio between stations. This makes it the natural state and conforms to people's experience in families and school of being cared for under strict rules.

Also true for the solar system as a whole.

Currently, the barycenter of the solar system is not inside the sun, so the sun is "orbiting" that spot. Although "that spot" is only about half a solar radius outside the sun.

The barycenter of the solar system will be back inside the sun in 2027, and actually near the sun's center around 2030, then back out again in 2033.

I have heard of the Cold War. I lived in Europe because of it. (Does our victory in the Cold War make you feel embarrassed, ashamed, or both?) I have also been by many places that used to be bases but have long ago been shuttered. Sweden was neutral for decades. Only recently have they joined NATO. They were paying their own freight for defense, primarily because they wanted to. About the only thing we paid for was a liaison officer to be at the Embassy in Stockholm. We have liaison officers at every embassy, upsetting as that may be to you.

That can be psychologically damaging to a woman to carry a dead fetus for any length of time.

My sister had her fetus strangle on the cord at about 8 1/2 months. She had to carry it for a couple of weeks. Ended up in a psych ward shortly after. Emotionally traumatizing.

This needs immediate relief, both Trump and Kennedy should be publicizing this. It's outrageous.

I have both. I have a HF 1/4" swivel head ratchet thats a decent copy of my snap-on. Its the only ratchet I really hate to be without, but I was not taking my snap-on version to the shop. They are fully equipped, but don't have that one ratchet. Mine stays in my roller boxes in the garage, so I grabbed the HF one for the shop, and beat on it for the last 5-6 years, and its still like the day I got it. I think it was $12 when I got it, verses the $100+ my snap-on one costs these days. It was so good I grabbed a few more, woodshop, car, etc. My snap-on has a slightly flatter shallower head, but the HF one was a serious surprise. I would have never thought it would survive.

Their wrenches are a little slenderer and longer that Craftsman. The fit in a lot more places than Craftsman did.

I have most of the snap-on ratchets, because at the time there was nothing like them in how they felt. And yeah, same with the wrenches, nothing like them at the time. MAC was too square at the edges, craftsman were short and looked and felt like they were built in 1943 russia. I have some other snap-on, like extensions, some pliers, torque wrenches,a few other things. These days though, a lot of good choices out there. I probably wouldn't have half the snap-on pieces if I was buying things today. Well, other than their screw drivers. Their Phillips screw drivers are frigging enchanted, they work like no other.

I've been screwing around with this premises, keeping an eye on Grok to see if it screws up (or I do).

I think publius's numbers are a bit off but as far as tides go, there would probably be none as the Earth would be rotationally tidally locked and if you assume the Earth to be roughly a sphere, all of the oceans would be consumed in the tidal mass. In other words, if the ocean was liquid, it would be like a teardrop hanging off the Earth in the direction of Saturn.

How's that for weird.

That's what fascinated me, and I had Grok running through numbers. It would be very complex. First of all, the Erf would tidally lock quickly, so strong would the tidal field be. But, once it's lock, the tidal bulge distortion is no longer rotating around relative to the body. Tidal bulges would be huge, but locked into radial alignment.

Now, if the orbit was perfectly circular, that would be dead constant and stable. If eccentric, and just a little bit, there would be radial flexing, which would drive significant heating of Erf's interior (think Io around Jupiter). And the variation in orbital speed would then cause libration about that radial lock (just as the Moon does now), which would cause angular swaying of the tidal bulges.

And then there's the Sun's tidal influences which add another layer.

The earth's equilibrium shape would different due to the tidal bulges, and no telling what the effect on plate tectonics and continents would be. But, as is, the water would tend to pool at the bulges, making ocean depth deeper on the near and far sides along the bulge axis. Again, no idea about how the continents and crust tectonics would align up with that.

Orbital/rotational period would be 21.3 hours. You'd still have solar tidal field rotating around the earth at that frequency.

The tidal bulge system is a damped mass-spring type affair, very complex, with different modes and resonances. Depending on the earth's shape, and the shape of the ocean basins, you get resonances there.

The solar-heat driven atmospheric tide would be different as well at that 21.3 hour period, and that can interact with the ocean tide as well in complex ways.

I use 7/16 and 1/2 on harleys like a minigun uses ammo, and I haven't lost a single one. Funny though, a few times a bike would come in and I would find a socket stuck on a bolt that the owner must have forgot about.

Bought the Stanley in lieu of the Craftsman that kept breaking.
It can't compete with Snap-On but the tolerances, fit, finish and durability are OK.

The company my dad worked for had a contract to heat treat their socket sets. I have a set of deep sockets, unchromed and missing one. They would heat treat them, then sacrifice one socket from the set to destroy by testing the Rockwell hardness.

Since one socket is missing from the set, the set couldn't be sold.
