I don't know if this is standard, but the family meatloaf has a healthy dose of fresh horseradish in it at my house. Gives it a nice kick and helps you forget that you are basically consuming a wad of hamburger without the usual condiments.

A leetle bit of Oatmeal will work in a pinch but at some point the Oatmeal flavor will quickly intrude. It is not what I’m looking for with Beef, at all. I like even the classic recipe, the standard trailer trash version is fine. A big dollop of prepared Horseradish is nice, it is totally different when cooked, not Hot.

You could make bank by buying, grinding old dried up dairy cows for a couple bucks a pound to make meatloaf. I'll run the numbers. Oats are cheap for filler, buy a truckload of onions, a bunch of eggs and ketchup. I'll make a fortune!

Orson - what I’m getting at, is mix the Horseradish in with the beef and the rest of the ingredients. There isn’t any kick when used that way. It lends a kind of sweetness. I bet you’re suggesting hot horseradish on the prepared meatloaf? Try both! I’m sure that would be excellent.
A lot of times when a recipe calls for onions I’ll caramelize half for an hour, and use the remaining half later in the recipe for the crunch and oniony bite. Posted by: Common Tater at September 04, 2025 10:31 PM (bg8nN) Posted by: AZ deplorable moron at September 04, 2025 10:32 PM (gwdwu) 122

Great video about the Clinton speech and the new democrat tactic, but he is only partly right. The democrat, globalist NGO strategy is to move illegals into democrat strongholds and increase the population until they are awarded additional congressional seats. They are planting them in areas where there is a vulnerable republican districts to turn them blue. They are also here to break the system so the democrats can install a new system.

See Also “Manufactured Consent”.
As far back as the 40s and 50s a lot of ink was spilled by the usual suspects on how to manipulate public opinion, how to get attitudes to change. Humans are herd animals, and we are very much susceptible to peer pressure and “go along to get along”. People generally do not like conflict, and are also willing to compromise. Propaganda is the art and science of getting people to think the enemy is all powerful or at least much more powerful than they really are, through illusion. It’s also crafted to demoralize and isolate, and inculcate feelings of hopelessness and isolation. There is no sense in trying. Give up! They have all this stuff down to a science, it has infected pretty much everything. Insidious and pervasive. They literally know how to drive people crazy. Now you know what all those “Think tanks” have been doing all these years. Posted by: Common Tater at September 04, 2025 11:02 PM (bg8nN) 167

Burt, it is still profoundly depressing, even if I understood the games they are playing, the parlor tricks in operation, and aren’t operative on me.
Because, watching this stuff go down over and over for years and years, and nobody doing fuck all about it. I did not have that on my bingo card. Ordinarily the most that could happen, a few “Republicans” would mewl for a an hour or two on the talk shows about the latest outrage (there have been so many). But then it was basically “we shall never speak of this again”. Fuggedabout it. Labels don’t mean much, but, what have “Conservatives” actually conserved? They couldn’t even keep kiddie fvckers out of girls bathrooms. The old school Democrat parents would be roasting these “educators” over a spit. Liberalism is aberrant. It's weird. It shouldn't be, and it will never be spontaneous. For a nation to remain Liberal, it requires social and cultural constraints on a scale much larger than any garden variety thuggery can establish. The Founders, who were the avant garde of Liberalism in their day, understood this. No amount of Good Government will ever guarantee a Liberal democracy. Good Government is practically the arch enemy of Liberalism. Russell Kirk was not some rare penetrating genius, he was re-stating the obvious, and going over lessons already learned. Liberalism is the ideology. Conservatism is just a playbook. Chuck Liberalism out the window, and you can conservatism in one hand and shit in the other and see which one fills up first.

I doubt these facts will make ace or most anyone else very happy, though. Posted by: Kindltot at September 05, 2025 01:17 AM (rbvCR) Which is another way of saying, Congress is a dysfunctional institution, that can't be reformed. Obviously Massie pisses off a lot of people who want Team Trump to just run with things, unimpeded, but of course that's not how government is SUPPOSED to work. It's closer to a monarchy than a democratic republic. Posted by: BurtTC at September 05, 2025 01:25 AM (hBtiT) 279
225 This Chicago fed surge thing is having the Dems walk into a trap, and I don't mean just being on the wrong end of an 80/20 issue.
- - - - - - - Next the Dems will be complaining that taking the guns away from the criminals violates their 2A rights... ;-) Posted by: Beneath the Planet of the Japes at September 05, 2025 01:27 AM (tsIvp) 280
I long to live in the kind of republic where the self serving machinations of corrupt perverts and whoremongers draining the public fisc are more like nuisance mosquitoes than open femoral arteries.

You need to explain Margies Meatloaf heaven to people - it was all a joke by an ad company. They kept it up for three years, with websites, interviews, business fillings, sports team sponsorships....all for a fake business designed to harass an employee on her wedding day.

Massie and Paul don't want the problem solved, because the problem gives them power. It's why they trip up whatever trump tries to do.

I have been listening to a lot of long-form interviews.trying to sort this bunch out, and still don't feel like I have a handle on who's who, really. Other than the fact that ther's plenty of "corrupt perverts and whoremongers draining the public fisc". Posted by: Don in SoCo at September 05, 2025 01:50 AM (vd6bO) 285

@293
The no sleep for me was from learning one of the guys I knew from my Army time passed. His sister called, said he had a massive heart attack while lawn mowing. Didn't know him all that well but it made me introspective, we Vietnam crew are ageing out at a growing pace. Looks as if old age will do what Charlie couldn't. i started seeing zappa live in the later '70s. pretty much this lineup with maybe lowell george added. i kind of stopped caring around joe's garage. everything else is worthwhile including the ruben and the jets stuff. of course he produced trout mask replica for van vliet. he also produced a weird double album for wild man fischer that has it's moments.
