Just got done with the most insane argument I have ever seen. A judge in Utah just threw out the state's representation maps and ordered that new maps be created, mostly to give Democrats a "safe seat" in Congress instead of Utah's current all Republican representation.

Some leftist was arguing that Utah had to do or... "since Trump is illegally using the National Guard in leftist cities" then Governor Newsome can use his national guard to invade Utah and remove all of the representations and put in new ones selected by Newsome. That's just the same as Trump fighting crime! So, the leftist is saying, "Share power or else!"

I... have not heard of Democrats now threatening to use military force and install a military dictatorship to "solve" their redistricting "problem."

The rest of my mecha ocs then proceeded to fill his bdus up with sand by holding him upside down and filling his pants legs. Then his bdu top and sleeves.

We were catching up on family. My oldest brother had died not long before. My older middle brother had been estranged from Mom and the rest of us for decades. My friend's wife asked how my Mom felt about that estrangement.

Mom paused for a few moment's thought and said, well, I learned there's more than one way to lose a child. Sighs and silence.

I really resented how the estranged son hurt my Mom's heart. I prayed for his sanity until Mom died, and after that couldn't care.

Since her funeral, our own son and his wife have been utterly out of touch with us. Haven't seen our two grandbabies in years. How it hurts us. There's more than one way to lose a child. Or grandchildren. Prayers continue for them, though.

My sister's a-fib landed her in the hospital from pulmonary edema due to her heart irregularity. She had a pulse rate of 130 when she was admitted and hadn't noticed it.

Well, it might keep molten slag off my junk, but won't stop EM effects. The welding arc is a very potent source of radio frequency energy, and probably spans the spectrum from VLF to microwaves. And when welding with AC, you get magnetic fields at the power line frequency, too. I think a chain-mail tunic would help a lot, but I can see why such things are not offered for sale. The Liability Hazard would be huge, if something went wrong.

I have been told by one doctor that one of the pacemaker manufacturers has a model that is hardened up to the point that they will allow its use when welding with less than 135 amps of current.

But I doubt I will be issued a pacemaker.

By the way, I tried out my Primeweld TIG machine on some aluminum yesterday, and was able to weld both a tubular chair leg, and a cast aluminum headlight trim ring. Neither weld was pretty, but it was a learning experience.

I got my wrists shaved, and part of the groinal area, in case they had to go that route for the cath. Which they didn't. AT one point, I could actually feel the catheter snaking through the artery in my shoulder. No pain, just a sensation.

Maybe an ESD jacket under welding leathers grounded by the snap on the sleeve to a ground on a plug. Send that shit RF to ground before it gets near the heart.

I've got an ESAB MIG welder, which will also do stick. Output is an inverter. It's a PWM type, and for stick. With that, there's some HF shit that comes through.

One time, one hot day, I was pouring sweat. I forget exactly what I did, somehow my wet skin touched a new welding rod I was loading in the holder. I got the strangest sensation in my teeth, sort like the galvanic effect with tin foil in your mouth.

That was some sort of capacitive coupling thing with that inverter high frequency "leaking" on the open circuit output.

It wouldn't be all that hard to test, you know. Have a field-strength meter that can read from VLF to microwave range, dummied up with leads to mimic the layout of a pacemaker. Have a healthy person wear it, and record field as various typical welding chores are performed. Let it record fields. Don various protective garments, and repeat the same chores.

I got a little tingle in my fingers yesterday, putting a new electrode in the holder for my old AC/DC buzz box welder. I used it to weld a metal bowl to the axle of a "firewood cart" that I repurposed to make a cart for TIG machine. Base of gas cylinder goes in metal bowl, and tank is held upright by a metal strap secured to the cross-brace by wing nuts. Gets the welder about 3 feet off the ground, and makes it mobile. Will add a drawer beneath the welder shelf to store cables and accessories.

Both of my grandfathers worked in the steel mills in Youngstown, OH and New Castle, PA and never got called to fight in WWII. They had draft numbers but never got called up. They served in other ways, like working in mills.

Just looked at IERS data. It's official, the Erf has slowed down below 24 hrs, ending that fast period since 6/20. 9/7 was 0.042 ms longer than 24 hours. You can see the excess LOD for the past 90 days here:
