Left-Wing TikTokers Attack the Democrat Party Influencers Who Secretly Took Money to Shill for the Establishment

This may have been a pretty big own goal.

The plan was to pump money to left-wing shills who would obey the establishment and push its agenda, all the while claiming to be an "independent" media that critiqued the establishment.

But then it was revealed they were all being paid.

Progressives are not being chill about being deceived. So now, instead of propping up a compliant fake "independent" media, they've blown up the few left-wing influencers with large followings.

Left-wing shill David Pakman -- who I can officially, legally say is a paid shill of the Democrat Party establishment now -- defends taking money to push an establishment-approved narrative, telling viewers that he had before stated that the left must "support" its social media influencers the way the right does (BTW, I don't get any money from any group at all, just individual readers).

So, he argues, this is what "support" looks like. You support left-wing "independent" media, right?

So you should support us getting paid one-tenth of a Hunter Biden salary to shill for the establishment while lying about it to you and falsely claiming to be "independent."

Below, left-wing TikTokers boohoo whinin' and cryin' after finding out that their favorite progressive "independent" influencers aren't independent at all, just on the Democrat Party payroll.

By the way: I speculated yesterday that the reason Sixteen Thirty wanted to exert control over these "independent" influencers was to keep them from talking about Gaza and Israel. The above report specifically says that, indeed, that's the issue Sixteen Thirty was most interested in controlling and censoring.

Related: It just gets worse and worse.

Does anything really think 0% of Democrats, nationwide, are happy with the way the nation is going?

Not 5%? Not 10% of heritage Democrats in Iowa, or something?

Just outright 0 of them?

It's a window into a major polling problem: response bias.

Highly engaged Democrats respond to far more polling requests than anyone else, and it warps everything about the poll from top to bottom.

46 So, to be clear, a non-profit (Sixteen Thirty) pays "influencers" to support progressive stances. They pull in about $8,000 per month.

So, when it comes to mid-term time and any one of these "influencers" makes positive comments about individual progressive candidates...that would be a direct "In-Kind" campaign contribution. Yes? And, getting paid $8k monthly exceeds the reporting threshold and donation threshold set by the Federal Election Commission.

This relates to the response bias TJM already mentioned. There are lots of registered Rs in places like Delaware County PA (wealthy Philly suburbs) or Johnson County KS (wealthy Kansas City suburb) who haven't voted R since Romney or even Bush. These people make up a tiny faction of registered Republicans (as the Kamala campaign found out when their Liz Cheney tour backfired), but they are overrepresented in polls for the same reason AWFLs are overrepresented (and in many cases they ARE AWFLs).

60 State of the nation polling is highly partisan (it completely and regularly flips based on who's president), but it's never giving the same numbers as something like presidential approval.

It seems to have a lot of input from local economic concerns to change things.

Like, "I'm not doing great, but I support Trump. So, the nation isn't doing great because I'm not."

It's also where preference for more individualized issues (Not enough done on guns!) can pop up. Single issue voters, and such.

Most of these people aren’t very smart, well credentialed, or even philosophically consistent. The only thing they’re good at is getting someone to pay them because they bewitch a lot of people into believing what they say. They are salespeople selling snake oil, with followers allegedly measuring the amount of influence they can peddle. I don’t need some soft hands soy boy, or some chick constantly displaying the goodies to tell me what I should buy or believe. I can do that myself. It means there is a permanent disconnect with their viewers that can forever be exploited.

I dont even know what basis she would use for a TRO that wouldn’t immediately be smoked on appeal. They basically made the Article II arguments and added all the case citations. Well, yea. The judge could make up whatever dogshit she wants and demand that unicorns appear and lick her ass. But in terms of an actual TRO, that really only works before the action occurs. It's a temporary restraining order. Once the action happens, the remedy is more in the nature of an order of specific performance.

116 It does seem statistically unlikely that EVERY SINGLE RESPONDENT was a Republican. So what's going on here?
Posted by: "Perfessor" Squirrel

I think I figured out what was going on--essentially the twitter account above is using the respondent information to create a table from the Gallup Survey question about satisfaction with the "In general, are you satisfied or dissatisfied with the way things are going in the United States at this time?" From the Gallup Poll Social Series.

The problem is that sampling is done for demographics but not for political affiliation plus it is weighted as in some respondents are treated as having more 'influence' than others in order to get what Gallup estimates is the entire sample of the public. Gallup used population density for the respondent as one of the weighting variable for example.

Weighting is widely recognized as the secret sauce in most of polling today and is actually the least scrutinized along with the unknowable non response bias problem for any particular poll.

124 Concerning the Gallup Poll: You need only look at some of the comments, articles, and book of Gallup's CEO, Jon Clifton, so see where these strange results materialized from.

Apparently, Clifton sort of inherited the CEO position from his father, but wasn't shy about giving his opinion on Trump before sliding into the position. As a result, the bias is pretty obvious. He says things like China and their economy will rule the world. Or one of my personal favorites is that Germany's economy is in better shape that the US's under Trump.

126 The point of leftwing politics is to acquire money and power.

Why leftwing pundits then approach this any differently then leftwing office holders.

And if fairness, a large portion of the old GOPe pundit network was being funded and controlled the same way.

But then rightwing people stopped following those pundits - I haven't read a Jonah Goldberg political post, outside of someone posting it here on AoS since...the early 2010s?

Since right leaning politics has nominal goal outside of money and power you can identify the Goldbergs and Frenchs of the world as traitors...but how do you do that for leftwing politics? If Sisson or someone is getting paid to amplify whatever the DNC is saying...how is that a betrayal?

While I know plenty of LIVs and they will often tell me they aren't sure who they are voting for (and no I'm not pressuring them for an answer) I don't really believe they are bouncing back and forth between the candidates as the polls seem to indicate. I've suspected for a while that actual indies who flux from one party to the next are actually immaterially small and the presidential election game is more about getting leaners who will only vote for one party to actually self-start to get to the polls.

GOTV efforts can move some of these people, but ultimately, it's about getting loyal but unreliable votes out.

An approach to polling that tries to take that into account more fully would be potentially useful. Some do this (measuring super voters and overweighting them or something), but I suspect it's just largely not done.

I’m supposed to care about and want Lisa Cook fired for mortgage fraud.. at the same time I’m told that David Malpass is going to take her spot.. a guy who should currently be in jail for destroying millions upon millions of lives GLOBALLY via, you guessed it, mortgage fraud.

Please, someone, make it make sense. Influencers, on both sides, peddling narratives while kicking you in the nuts with that same narrative has become the status quo and partially behind the monetization drive. I think. How else could someone say “look at Lisa Cook” but say “Ken Paxton’s mortgage fraud isn’t real” or “David Malpass didn’t help facilitate globally detrimental mortgage fraud while at Bear Stearns, he’s a great American!”

You are correct on the indy thing--about mebbe 5 percent of the electorate (which still can swing a close race if these are in the right states like Carter Ford or JFK Nixon). Most indys are leaners toward one party or the other--these are often the ones that drop out when the party nominees are undesirable to them rather than vote for the opponent.

I think McCain and Dole on the GOP side and probably Kamala in 2024 and McGovern before her.

I follow the plan God laid for me.
I saw His face, I heard His call,
I took His hand and left it all…
I could not stay another day,
To love, to laugh, to work or play;
Tasks left undone must stay that way.
And if my parting has left a void,
Then fill it with remembered joy.
A friendship shared, a laugh, a kiss…
Ah yes, these things I, too, shall miss.
My life’s been full, I’ve savored much:
Good times, good friends, a loved-one’s touch.
Perhaps my time seemed all too brief –
Don’t shorten yours with undue grief.
Be not burdened with tears of sorrow,
Enjoy the sunshine of the morrow.

Bless you and your dearly departed mother, Axeman.

168 Speaking of getting to the polls, I looked at the raw vote numbers from that Iowa State Senate election and the R candidate got way less then half as many votes as the guy running in the regular cycle last time.

There are way, way too many right leaning voters that need to be babied to get them to the polls.

Now, that's the reality right now and that means the GOP better be babying them, but its a real problem that right leaning not overly political people do not turn out to vote if not given an explicit reason to...

Posted by: 18-1
==
The problem with weighting is the implicit assumption that the respondent who answers is actually a 'good' representative of that particular demographic. Thus, if your secret sauce believes 25 percent of the electorate are AWFLs, then the respondents that you manage to get to complete the interview are weighting in influence to compose that entire 25 percent block. Same with minorities, same with white males, etc.

Back in the Gallup heyday, everyone had land lines, those land lines were stable (people kept their numbers and those corresponding with geographic area codes). If you had to, using a phone number as a key like SSN, you can impute missing values based on public databases like presumed age, income, etc.

Nowadays, with number porting, cell phones, etc., that technique is effectively dead. So you get scientific wild ass guessing that the respondents you get represent the entire sample of that subgroup you are aiming to survey. Don't get enough respondents, then you weight the ones you have aka clone them essentially.

I knew some people associated with NORC that were experimenting with doing that. Biggest reason though taht polls are shitty is that a) they are never intended to be considered anything more than a media talking point (polls for media), b) private polling IS very accurate but (c), it is very expensive. Ideally you have a list survey and an area survey. You use the area survey to correct the list survey. USDA farm surveys are designed like this and so are certain Census Bureau surveys. The area survey is you take random blocs of areas and survey everyone in that area--door to door if need be and go and find values to impute if necessary from respondents. That sets your known error rate for your list survey (and also corrects it for future use).

Really expensive to do that as in over a billion per year for the USDA Stats Service and state partners.

212 Essentially, Gen-Z men will make Gen-Z women more conservative over time in the aggregate as women decide to match with men.

One wonders if any women who "don't need no man" ever wakes up and realizes the enormous lie they were fed.

A few years back, my SIL - an ultra-misandrist - broke down crying over how she hadn't wanted to get old alone, with no kids. When my MIL told the story, I was flabbergasted. Like, how could she have thought that any man would tolerate her open hostility toward men in favor of THE SISTERHOOD? Now she'll die alone. Broken and bitter, just as she lived her life.

213 My anecdotal experience is that even married women are more left. I think females have more empathy so just want to help people and are therefore sensitive to dem-type emotional appeals. Even the love Mrs VanPelt has expressed disapproval of Trump for being “mean”… and she voted for him!

Younger men used to move to the left, or pretend to, in order to increase their prospects. The left knew this and focused on propagandizing young women. That model is coming to an end as the left has become so visibly insane and anti-male.

215 >>>But traditionally the thing that really moves women to the right is raising children and the single female cohort we are talking about does not want to have kids...

Occasionally as a mental exercise I wonder how America would look if in order to vote you have to be married and have had at least one child (counting adoption of course).

Both men and women are genetically infused with the desire to make/have children. There is something missing or *adulterated in the code for one to be otherwise.

*familial or cultural environment, among other things

217 Maybe I’m misremembering, but didn’t scotus already dispose of/treat as appealable PI a precious employment/termination related TRO? Thought Kav or Gorsuch said, essentially, you can call it a duck, but it ain’t.

The "you need a corporate job, not a man" BS feminists have bought into really amazes me.

On my deathbed I'm not going to wish I had written more PowerPoints with my time on earth.

“Socialism defies logic. You see, it is an emotional impulse, a kind of worldly religion, and nobody has the slightest need to study or even to read the teachings of its early prophets. Their books are judged by hearsay; their conclusions are accepted ready-made.”
