Trump: We Should Have a Convention Before the Midterm Elections

This convention wouldn't have any kind of official function. Congressional candidates are selected by voting in the states, not by convention delegates.

The point would be to hype up the base and irregular voters and to define the party's agenda, versus the Democrat-Media Cult's agenda. So it's really just a rally with production values.

Trump has brought aboard new voters but they have a distressing tendency to only vote when Trump's on the ballot. This is a good idea as far as communicating to these Trump-Only voters that his presidency depends utterly on them voting in a Congress he can do business with.

And of course he's the party's best salesman.

I approve!

The Democrat-Media Cult is probably doing something similar but we will get more out of this than they will. The Democrat-Media Cult cannot be honest about its agenda because it turns 70% of the country off. So they just have to babble vague buzzwords without saying what they intend to do with power, if they have it.

President Donald Trump on Thursday floated hosting a pre-midterm Republican National Convention, touting his administration's success and saying his party is "poised to win big in the midterms."

"We won every aspect of the Presidential Election and, based on the great success we are having, are poised to WIN BIG IN THE MIDTERMS," Trump wrote in a post to Truth Social. "The results are incredible, a record pace!!! In that light, I am thinking of recommending a National Convention to the Republican Party, just prior to the Midterms. It has never been done before. STAY TUNED!!!"

...

Trump's message comes just a day after Axios reported that senior Democratic officials were considering a similar move, as they gear up for an uphill battle to reclaim control of Congress and disrupt Trump's Republican trifecta.

A pre-midterm mini-convention -- which fell out of fashion among Democrats in the mid-1980s -- would give prospective leaders from both parties the opportunity to audition for potential 2028 candidacies, as Democrats remains without a clear voice after November's election loss and Republicans inch toward a post-Trump future.

A pre-midterm gathering could also give Democrats a chance to catch up on fundraising and boost public visibility.

LOL. They don't benefit from public visibility. Very much the opposite.

As for fundraising -- yes, the Democrat-Media Cult is far behind the GOP. But I don't think a convention will change that.

At the top level, the Democratic National Committee (DNC) is struggling to build a war chest in the face of Republican dominance, according to Politico, with the DNC raising around $15 million by the end of June as compared to the Republican National Committee (RNC) with $80 million.

Politico found that major Democratic donors have held back from donating in the aftermath of Trump's dominant win, and have failed to generate enthusiasm among small-dollar donors, leading to the lowest funding level for the DNC at any point in the last five years.

To be honest it sounds like the Democrat-Media Cult wants to pre-nominate Gavin Newsom, before the 2028 cycle even begins. They are very much a top-down party of unthinking ants and mindless vermin, and they need a Queen to lead them.

The other thing they'll probably want to celebrate is... Taylor Swift's engagement.

If you're not sure the left is mentally ill and horribly immature, watch their reactions when they hear that a woman they don't know and never met is engaged to a man they don't know and never met.

This is CBS "News."

This very manly college professor dismisses class because he saw that Taylor Swift got engaged. He says "I can't focus, the class can't focus," and says that we all need time to "process" this.

======

They are. They announced a desire to do it a day or so ago.

And then Trump pounced on it himself.

The contrast is, of course, obvious. Democrats just finished a summit where they screamed that trans rights are paramount, no one cares about crime, and Trump is Hitler.

Democrats are at the bottom rung of the change wrought by Obama, a diseased corpse looking for purpose long after the body politic has decided that it's not worthy of animation. Republicans are at the height of their own cycle of change, not yet tired out by second generation corruption of the machine or movement away from the platform as promised.

All of their proposed solutions center around "messaging" problems.

Old school reasoning, of course. They always blame it.

But the problem is ultimately a personnel one. The personnel who populate the Democrat machine are, many levels down, dedicated to the promise of the ascendant and eternal march of progressive history which, at this point, much include all the worst fantasies of r/atheism. There is no other direction to take, and the organizations are just too populated with too many people who think it.

The party can't change on a material level because there are too many people working for it who won't let it. They have to change personnel.

Easy, right? Quick changes, right?

That train to nowhere worked out rather well if you look at it from a different perspective. Over 600 private properties and generational farms have been swept up by the State of California using eminent domain. It started in 2013, and continues to this day. The "fair market price" required to apply eminent domain was paid with State and Federal tax dollars.

It gives a rather obvious perspective to the Palisades and Malibu fires when you look close at how the State of Cali. operates in the dark.

When they eventually abandon the Train...watch how the same investment companies and developers show up on property deeds from both places...and watch how California politician's bank accounts remarkably grow. It's blatant, and we, ultimately, finance the grift.

================

Mark Halperin has a theory or a spidey-sense (I haven't listened, only heard from a listener) that Newsom is going to act like he's running, but then not run.

I can, actually, imagine him chickening out in the face of debate against Vance 100%. He's a fellow white male, so he can't compete on some sacred identity, and he's also evenly if not outmatched on poise, articulateness, knowledge of the issues, and looks. He's got to know that Vance will destroy him on his California record. There's only so much he can fake.

Newsom has had all his wealth and political offices handed to him on a silver platter all his life. I think he fears genuine competition.

I dunno, I also think he covets the White House and I don't know what he would do with his life if he doesn't run -- mismanage a winery, maybe. We'll see what prevails.

Taylor Swift is (was) a reasonably attractive woman - assuming you don't require cartoon sized breasts. She has a number of songs with good melodies that tell a relatable story. I like several of them well enough that I wouldn't change the station if they came on.

Their Construction Battalions will now set to work on the yuge, luxurious public works project of converting them into Trump Steakhouses. 'It will be done before you know it! Really, these guys are the best," Swift said in a statement from the gilded penthouse of Trump Tower Beijing."

Taylor Swift is (was) a reasonably attractive woman - assuming you don't require cartoon sized breasts. She has a number of songs with good melodies that tell a relatable story. I like several of them well enough that I wouldn't change the station if they came on.

My personal favorite musical act is Babymetal and I wish more artists would emulate them in that fans know almost nothing about their personal lives.

Liberace was a conservative. He was apparently a much quieter guy in his private life. The exotic and flamboyant outfits and lifestyle were for marketing and gimmick.

The gimmick was similar to Elvis Presley, who was actually quite shy and very cheap.

Both posted manifestos in which they raged, & expressed grievance towards numerous ethnic groups & religions. You know, a real broad stroke of, of kind of anger there. Good point. However, the fans of Simmons and Liberace (among who I number myself... both were very entertaining, IMO) didn't pretend that they'd be able to understudy Schwarzenegger, Stallone, or Willis in an action hero movie.

308 Yeah, it sounds like Trump wants to motivate 2026, while the Dems want to pre-pre-motivate 2028 and coronate a candidate.

Also, on the Dems not benefitting: they won't, at least partly, because they already dominate the media with their messaging. It's everywhere, all the time, so a really big push from a 'convention' won't really gain them anything.

That's probably retail.

I'd bet my bottom dollar that he didn't pay that.

In fact, I would not be surprised to find out the jeweler actually paid them, rather than the other way around.

Every story I'm turning up has a prominent mention of the name of the jeweler (Kindred Lubeck, of Artifex Fine Jewelry in NYC).

Savvy investment on the jeweler's part. I reckon their merch is going to be flying off the shelf.
