Good morning kids. Sadly, picking up from where I left off yesterday, President Trump is defending his decision to grant 600,000 student visas to Red Chinese students. RUFKM Mr. President?!

I think it’s very insulting to say students can’t come here because they’ll go out, they’ll start building schools and they’ll be able to survive it. But, I like that their students come here, I like that other countries’ students come here. And you know what would happen? If they didn’t, our college system would go to hell very quickly,” Trump said.

Mr. President, considering the state of American culture and politics over the past 60 years, the names Bill Ayers, Ted Kaczynski, Luigi Mangione, Rashid Khalidi, John Brennan, and on and on and on, it is evident that our college system is not going to hell. Our college system, and much of Pre-K to 12 is in fact HELL ITSELF by virtue of what its graduates have wrought. What we are suffering this very day, from open borders, to transexual madness, to Wokeness, DEI, racial grievance and anti-Americanism and anti-free market capitalism to censorship, crime and dissolution in our cities that resulted in your calling up of the National Guard, is a result of the nightmare vision that was nurtured in our universities to begin with. And from the admirers of Mao Tse-Tung, one of history's greatest mass murderers, who Xi is an ardent admirer and acolyte...

The same people who defend burning the American flag as a sacred expression of free speech. Ironic given President Trump's move to criminalize flag burning . . .

President Donald Trump said on Monday that he would enable 600,000 students from China to study in the U.S. Williams said on “Fox & Friends First” that Chinese citizens are legally compelled to assist the Chinese government or else face repercussions and therefore must “be very carefully vetted.” “Well, people have to understand there are different kinds of Chinese students: people like me who come here in the 1980s and 1990s, really want to come here, live under freedom and the land of free, for opportunity to have better lives,” Williams said. “Then later, after China joined the WTO [World Trade Organization] they’re still going to come here. They are the wealthy, powerful children and they come here with a certain test to perform.” “Now, with [Chinese President] Xi Jinping’s Chinese national security and intelligence laws, they have to actually assist, to perform tasks for the Chinese government asks them to perform. Otherwise there will be serious consequences,” she continued. “Anybody who carries Chinese passport potentially needs to be very carefully vetted. And so I think this is not a good idea right now. And plus, we have so many come in during the [former President Joe] Biden years through the southern border. And where are they? Are they all out of our country yet? And are they vetted?”

Vetting even one let alone all 600,000 is impossible, given the limited resources and the fact that Red China is about as repressive, closed and impenetrable as a police state can get.

Psaki-psircling back to President Trump's move to criminalize burning the American Flag, as the owner of a 48-star flag presented to my grandfather at the burial of his son (my uncle) who gave his life on the green hell of Saipan, yes that flag to me and all of you is indeed sacred. But as a free speech absolutist and as painful as it is to witness, if some piece of shit wants to burn a flag, so be it. The problem becomes prosecuting anyone who burns a homosexual rainbow flag or who dares utter the holy of holy words that begins with "N" and BIGGERs the imagination.

Viral fame is proving plenty damaging for Shiloh Hendrix, the Minnesota mom catapulted to notoriety in April for her use of racial slurs. The Rochester City Attorney’s Office is now moving to bring three counts of Disorderly Conduct against Hendrix, according to KTTC News. Hendrix may face up to 90 days in jail, and/or a $1,000 fine, reports the outlet. . .

Is speech that arouses anger now verboten? Or speech that inspires resentment?
If so, I suppose we’d all better pray whatever guy we like wins the next election. He — and his appointees — will be the ones deciding which words are too inflammatory to fall on the public’s ears.

It's not about the speech per se, it's about who gets to define what is and what is not permissible and ultimately the nature of the First Amendment and the nature of our society insofar as the aforementioned is one of if not the premier cornerstone of said society.

The Associated Press headlined their piece: “Trump moves to ban flag burning despite Supreme Court ruling that Constitution allows it.” The article included “experts” about free speech and emphasized the Supreme Court’s 1989 ruling.
But when Pride flags are burned, none of these outlets show the same concern for the First Amendment. When “two rainbow pride flags were set on fire outside of a gay bar” in New York, it was part of a spike in “hate crimes,” as written by The Times’ Sharon Otterman. No mention of free speech, no reminder of Texas v. Johnson or the First Amendment.
In 2019, CNN reported on an Iowa man sentenced to years in prison for burning an LGBT flag that was hanging from a church. The act was treated as a hate crime. Similarly, no mention of free speech or the first amendment.

Evil is eternal. I don't think many of forgotten. But there is nothing wrong with celebrating wins and looking for more instead of constant gloom.

Obviously, elections are a focus. The DOJ has had a program to focus on election including cleaning voter roles since Dhillon came onboard. And the redistricting going on in red states shows that the message is known everywhere. Trump's RNC was very focused on election integrity in 2024 and it showed. I doubt they think the battle is over.

Kid1, just turned 26, decided that college was not for them. They have a job, a spouse, and a house they just 'bought'.

Kid2, graduates college this December in 3.5 years with an engineering degree. Has a job lined up to start in March, a significant other who graduates in May, and plans to start looking for an apartment as soon as they get back to Texas after graduation.

I recall, however, both of them telling me, as HS seniors, that many of their friends didn't have drivers licenses and no desire to remedy that.

Lotta kids don't want to grow up. It'll hurt them in the long run but it gives a huge boost to the kids in their generation who do.

I skimmed through the video of the flight. Apparently they deliberately left tiles off some places and tried some different methods of adhering the tiles. One of the big focuses of data for the flight was gathering tile information for planned rapid reuse.

And the flaps had less burn-through than previous flights.

The issue is not simply surviving to get back on the ground (or water) in one piece. Elon's overall plan is to rapidly reuse Starships (and the booster). Replacing more than a handful of tiles and/or flaps after each mission is not going to result in the flight rate Elon wants.

307 The left has been arguing since at least 2000 that there are massive numbers of "disenfranchised" voters. To this day they have identified...0.

And remember this isn't like election fraud where you have to do deep investigations to find it. If a citizen went to vote and was told "no" they can immediately turn to the media...and this has not happened.

Occasionally the FNM will claim to have this...but you find out that there was a problem with an actual citizen's registration and he successfully cast a provisional ballot. Amusingly a regular purging of voter data would resolve this as re-registering in your correct address with your correct ID would remove most issues that come up.

Now absent this the left will then at time fall back to arguing and difference between 100% turn out of a left favoring group and the actual turn out is an example of voter suppression. So if 50% if the black people in City X voted that means 50% were suppressed which is...absurd.

Business schools teach Disruption.

The issue I think is that a lot of companies aren't focusing on the prerequisites of being disruptive. To do that, a company first needs to stabilize the company, focus on the core business, then assess the landscape and find an opening. Only then can the company start to build momentum in that space and finally disrupt.

I see Cracker Barrel trying to go to step five without bothering with one through four.

333 I don't know if people here got the rest of the story about the supposed active shooter at U of Arkansas on Monday. Police, FBI, and (I assume) National Guard swarmed the campus and didn't find anything. The call, which included sounds of gunfire, was a hoax.

This has been happening at other schools as well this semester.

Not that I know anything, but seems like some of these unbalanced people threatening domestic terrorism to "save democracy" might have something to do with this. And I wouldn't be surprised if there are more events with actual violence in the future.

I wish there were a way to impose sanity on these people.

Rebranding can be a part of a disruptive strategy. But the rebranding has to be a result of the previous steps and MUST be informed by them. Simply rebranding in a vacuum only alienates the core business without providing a reason for new customers to come in.

The idea behind disruption is to identify (or create...) an opportunity before your competitors and own the space. For instance, Apple identified an opportunity for people to take music on the go, with the result being the iPod. That worked very well and basically became a very popular, iconic product. It disruptied the other players in the industry and left them floundering.

It's simply different, more about local organization and less about the opinions of the overall district.

It's why turnout of roughly 16% will yield different results from turnout of roughly 60%.

It's unreflective of the 60% that will show up to vote at the next general.
