Sefton: sefton at cutjibnewsletter.com | Famed "Maryland Dad" Kilmar Albrego-Garcia Arrested; Will be Deported to UgandaHis lawyer is crying "but he doesn't even speak the language!" The most-spoken language in Uganda is... English. I imagine they're right: The "Maryland Man" probably barely speaks English. But that didn't stop him from running a profitable human-trafficking business in America.Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) arrested Kilmar Abrego Garcia, the Democrats' so-called "Maryland Man," on Monday for deportation proceedings. Homeland Security officials say the 30-year-old illegal alien, tied to MS-13 and accused of trafficking and abuse, is being processed for removal to Uganda. Key Details: A Department of Homeland Security statement confirmed that Garcia, "a criminal illegal alien from El Salvador," was arrested in Maryland and is now in ICE custody. Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem said, "President Trump is not going to allow this illegal alien, who is an MS-13 gang member, human trafficker, serial domestic abuser, and child predator to terrorize American citizens any longer." Democrats have rallied around Garcia, framing the case as a "due process" fight, but polling shows the public overwhelmingly views him as a gang member, highlighting political risks for Democrats. Diving Deeper: On Monday morning, ICE agents detained Kilmar Abrego Garcia--nicknamed by Democrats and mainstream media outlets as "Maryland Man"--and began deportation proceedings against him. According to the Department of Homeland Security, Garcia, an illegal immigrant from El Salvador, is now being processed for removal to Uganda. ... The case has a long and contentious history. Garcia was deported to El Salvador earlier this year. By June, he was returned to the United States to face charges of transporting migrants illegally; he pleaded not guilty. Now, with restrictions on sending him back to El Salvador, Garcia is likely to be deported to a "safe third country" such as Uganda, which has agreements in place with Washington to accept deported individuals. Despite credible accusations of domestic abuse, gang activity, and labor trafficking, Democrats and activist groups have spent months defending Garcia under the banner of "due process." Progressive media have highlighted him as a symbol of resistance to Trump's immigration agenda, but a Harvard/Harris poll from June shows 62 percent of registered voters believe Garcia is "likely" tied to MS-13. That polling underscores the political risk: defending a figure accused of such crimes alienates voters at a time when border security and immigration remain top concerns.

Hey TJM...I hate the ACLU as much as anybody but what did they do to this mug? Just asking for the condensed version.
He was safely in prison in El Salvador. ACLU sued to have him brought back to the US. Trump and Bukele agreed after coming up with this plan where once he was sprung they'd prosecute him for human trafficking and deport him to Uganda. (The ACLU's complaint was that while he wasn't a gang member, he faced retribution from rival gangs in El Salvador. Yes, they really said that). I never understood why the determination of whether to be released from jail was contingent on ability to pay.
——— You should understand, the alternative is to stay incarcerated until the trial date, might be several months or more. The bail is an incentive to appear in court, which is forfeited otherwise. If you don’t have any money, so what? Maybe that should have entered into the thought process somewhere in the criminal act. “You know if I get busted I won’t have nobody to go by bail and I’ll be in the jug for a year and a half” Illegal aliens, foreign nationals etc., are a flight risk and should never get bail. The judges that let those go should be woodchipped into mulch. They hate Americans that much apparently Posted by: Common Tater at August 25, 2025 01:43 PM (/gceP) 132

131 I never understood why the determination of whether to be released from jail was contingent on ability to pay.
——— No cash bail is an abomination, because the idea is to hold something over your head, so you'll show up at trial. $50,000 bail means you put up $5,000. You get that back if you show up, minus the commission form the bail bondsman (maybe $500). If you skip, you lose $5k and the bondsman loses $50k. But the bondsman then employs people to track you down. Heck he may employ people to babysit you and make sure you show up. It's a good deal all around, because at the bottom is forcing you to show up. No cash bail means you no show the trial. And the bondsman is out of the picture, meaning the police have to track you down. It's how people can have multiple outstanding warrants. Outside of the far left, people don't care that much about Maria and her ilk. They can express sympathy that Maria got picked up in an ICE raid going after a criminal and she just happened to be there, but ultimately, she's not family. It's like hearing that a factory got shut down a thousand miles away in another state. It's sad, but ultimately, it's not their concern. And that's assuming they feel that sympathy to begin with. this obsession, this vendetta, with deporting KAG is ridiculous. Dementia patients latch onto a thing. Demand his medical records. They were projecting tRump's dementia onto Biden to make it alright for them to actually do it.
It's because their trafficking case is so bad/weak. He is the living embodiment of Trump being wrong AND multiple people in the Clustertrump swore he’d never be allowed to stay in this country. Dear Leader can never be wrong you know. So they whisk him away so there are no interviews and the case never has to go to trial. They are painting them out to be such a menace. And he's never done anything wrong in this country. They keep calling him a wife beater, and a human smuggler, he's never been indicted or convicted, unlike Trump. Plus, he only speaks Spanish, which right-wingers hate for some reason. He was given the option to go to Costa Rica. I would have taken it. Sometimes you just can't fight the system. SCOTUS said Trump can deport people to Uganda. Unfortunately, Trump is going to make an example of him. It seems like immigrants have very few rights these days.
