Trump Will End Cashless Bail by Executive Order
Well, that is his hope. I expect leftwing know-nothing DEI Biden judges will block him.
The order won't ban cashless bail directly. It will require states to end the practice, or give up federal funding.Meanwhile, Zohran Mamdani's Democrat Party is headed in the opposite direction. Mamdani wants to straight-up legalize prostitution, citing the legalization of drugs as a positive precedent to be emulated. And that's not all -- Mamdani wants to end all charges for misdemeanors, too.
President Trump is expected to sign the executive order Monday, marking one of his most aggressive steps yet against cashless bail policies. Attorney General Pam Bondi will deliver Trump a list of jurisdictions with no-cash-bail laws, potentially including New York, Washington, DC, and other left-leaning localities that have weakened pretrial detention requirements. The White House memo on the executive action was blunt: "Cashless bail policies allow dangerous individuals to immediately return to the streets and further endanger law-abiding, hard-working Americans because they know our laws will not be enforced." The memo further described re-arresting repeat offenders freed without bail as both "a waste of public resources and obvious threat to public safety." New York has been at the center of the debate since it scrapped cash bail for most misdemeanors and non-violent felonies in 2019. Critics point to cases such as two convicted killers recently released without bond after being arrested for drug dealing, or a suspected Tren de Aragua gang member freed on attempted homicide charges who was later caught in a drug bust -- only to be let loose again. One prolific city pickpocket has been arrested 45 times since 2024 but continues to cycle through the system. The White House also cited a California study that found crime spiked by 163% in Yolo County after a "zero bail" policy was implemented. Federal officials argue that local experiments with bail reform have fueled crime and endangered communities.
Democratic mayoral frontrunner Zohran Mamdani and his comrades at the Democratic Socialists of America want to wipe out the enforcement of all misdemeanor offenses, The Post has learned. In its most recent platform, the group blasts policing and detention as "instruments of class war" designed to "guarantee the domination of the working class" -- and demands an end what it calls "the criminalization of working-class survival." "For all of the working class to achieve collective liberation we must constrain, diminish, and abolish the carceral forces of the state -- from prisons and police themselves, to their manifestations in all forms throughout society," according to the national party's latest platform, adopted in 2021. On the campaign trail, Mamdani has repeatedly called for police to stop focusing on what he's referred to as "non serious crimes." "Police have a critical role to play but right now we're relying on them to deal with the failures of our social safety net, which is preventing them from doing their actual jobs," he said in a campaign video posted to X Wednesday.Bonus: "This is how you move up in the polls!" Cutting sanctuary cities from those grants may be within the purview of the president based on how the statutes authorizing the grants are worded.

If you look at pics from the event, you can see "45 Lbs" stamped on the plates. Two 45 plates plus the bar is 135 lbs.

I think Chris Cuomo did something like that back when he was at CNN. He made a video of himself pressing an 85 lb. barbell at his desk. He's actually pretty strong, but if you looked closely you could tell his muscles weren't straining at that weight - when anyone who tried to do that would show the effort it takes to do it. That argument can be used about any illegal conduct -- no matter how dangerous or injurious -- so long as the conduct still occurs. There's a lot of theft too. Should we legalize it? What about cocaine? Acid? Heroin?
We should never have legalized weed because all that did was expand and encourage its use. We now have entire areas of stoners stumbling around stinking like pot, and a whole lot of organized crime behind the weed stores.

Weed legalization didn't solve any of the problems they claimed it would. It only made them worse. There is still an underground, illegal, and thriving pot-dealing industry. It's cheaper and often even easier to get weed illegally than through a legal store.
So all the crime and dysfunction legal weed was supposed to end is still there. Plus, the stores themselves are often fronts for organized crime or other unsavory types.
And weed use exploded after legalization. That is not a positive for society.

Depends on body weight, physical fitness, and experience. I think any reasonably fit adult male should be able to do at least one 135-pound press. It's not a lot of weight. Once you get up over 250 pounds, then it gets into much more rarified air. But 135? Any adult male should be able to do at least one.
That Bombdaddy couldn't even do one without a great deal of help is inexcusable. He's almost comically weak.

If a person has never benched, or does any sort of physical exercise, 135lbs is quite a bit of weight, the average novice weightlifter is going to start with an unloaded bar, and then work up 135, 185, 225 milestones. Once you get above 225, you are an intermediate lifter.
