The Morning Report — 8/14/25

CinCinRaceCard.jpg

Good morning kids. God bless President Trump. I'll have to admit it took me a long time to understand why he says what he says when he says it. In any case, he let loose this latest broadside at the Democrats.

President Donald Trump said it is a “waste of time” to work with Democrats on Capitol Hill and that the Democrat Party is “led by insane people,” while speaking with reporters on Wednesday. Trump blasted Democrat lawmakers when a reporter asked if he intends to meet with Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) and House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY) to discuss the government funding deadline. “Well, I will, I guess, but it’s almost a waste of time to meet because they never approve anything,” Trump said. “If we want money to fight crime, if we want money to do–only good things, just good things, let’s not even talk about controversial–they don’t want to meet about anything.”

In purely tactical terms, Trump rightly perceives that he has the Democrats over a barrel on a broad range of issues, as a wide spectrum of polls of late indicates that that accursed party's approval and favorability ratings cratering to record low levels. So I imagine he's attempting to get them to cry uncle. And given everything going on, with the ascendancy of open bust-out insane Maoism in the Democrat Party, the base and leadership must try to appeal to or otherwise appease the Better A-Holes of their nature. Assuming of course the base can deprogram themselves long enough from their Trump derangement to salvage whatever vestige of a fig leaf of reasonableness that yet exists with the public at large lest they face a wipeout next year and in the '28 election, their historic go-to insurance policy of election thievery notwithstanding.

But Psaki-psircling back to this notion of being insane, I would argue that it's less insanity than it is being amoral and evil. To have such a generational lust for power and the hubris to anoint yourself as elite and superior to those who oppose you, is not purely a question of sanity. I'll leave it to the psychologists amongst us to argue about that.

Then again . . .

What do you get when you marry victimhood and narcissistic self-worship? Today’s woke ideologue journalist. For it is left-wing journalists resting upon their precarious perch in corporate legacy media who, despite (admittedly declining) wealth and influence, believe they are actually victims worthy of America’s sympathy and support.

They are the oppressed, beleaguered heroes keeping the fires of truth burning in these dark days of reinvigorated conservative cultural and political dominance, waging a fearless battle against patriarchy and racism. They also happen to have sufficient wealth and free time to indulge in some of the priciest and most self-absorbed activities that define our digital age. One need look no further than a recent column by The Washington Post’s Karen Attiah to observe the paradox.

Attiah presents the perfect example of how the contemporary obsession with victimhood and self-absorption are actually one and the same thing. Her op-ed begins by talking about how much she hated being skinny. As a teenager, she claims she was subject to stereotypes about “underfed Africans.” She yearned to be strong so she could be “a threat to the gender system.”

Perhaps it’s not all that surprising that narratives of both alleged victimhood and narcissism go together. If you believe you are a victim, even when things are going well for you, in the wealthiest and most successful country in the world, then you are obviously spending too much time thinking about yourself. The person who interprets everything through a lens of victimhood is already focused on the self and thus more prone to self-celebratory thoughts and behaviors. The more such people cycle down the drain of this narcissism, the more impervious they are to reality, lacking the self-awareness to see themselves for what they often actually are: entitled.

The media and academia especially have been concocting the witch's brew of victimhood to create a whole class of oppressed groups that can be united under the flag of Democrat Leftism as an army of freedom fighters ready to break the chains of an evil white supreamcist Judeo-Christian America and create paradise on earth.

This poison has destroyed the lives of millions of people and is on the verge of tearing this country and our society apart.

Case in point is this latest horrific example from the Democrat controlled paradise on earth of Cincinnati Ohio. A city ironically that derives its name from an ancient Roman dictator who was long admired for relinquishing his power and privileges to return to his life as a farmer. Okay, stop laughing.

Multiple black community leaders, one of them a pastor with a previous felony conviction, called for the arrest of an alleged victim of the Cincinnati beatdown Monday. This follows a video appearing to show the victim slapping another man before the brawl allegedly ensues.

Terrific, Emmit Till has become Emmett Kelly, but no one's laughing. Let us assume for a second that someone called someone a name. Even the unmentionable "N-word" that for anyone other than black to dare utter is a crime against humanity. Does that give said melanin-possessor and his/her compatriots the right to nearly stomp into unconsciousness and death a complete stranger because she's white? The answer of course, if you are a devotee of mirror universe Mein Kampf or Ibram X. Krement's "Jive Kampf" is Jawoll which in barbara Billingsley's Jive pocket dictionary is hell yes!

Meanwhile, in another part of the jungle . . .

An anti-Trump agitator is accused of shooting a wheelchair-bound man in the chest in Seattle, Washington, over an allegation of “stolen valor.” Gregory William Timm, 32, claimed the victim was pretending to be a veteran and confronted the 68-year-old wheelchair bound man on the busy Alaskan Way boardwalk on July 31.Prosecutors allege Timm proceeded to rip a military patch off the victim, resulting in the victim producing a knife and an airsoft gun to defend himself. Subsequently, stepping back several feet, Timm pulled out a handgun and fired a shot into the victim’s chest while demanding to see his ID. The 68-year-old man, who survived the gunshot, says he was reaching to retrieve his military ID when Timm fired on him. Local media reports indicate he is indeed a veteran.

The wind has indeed been sown. It's going to be a hell of a whirlwind when, or even if it gets reaped.

Then they scream “Fascist!” and “Genocide!” every time the plan goes up in flames.

Oh, it's going to get reaped. One way or the other. Trump's trying to head that off at the pass. It's debatable whether he'll succeed. Even if he's able to pass the torch on to Vance I doubt the left is going to fall back anytime soon. Our government's been taken over and bastardized to prohibit any sort of reform using "normal" methods.

Just list the people, institutions, policies, etc. that need to be reformed. And what stands in the way of getting that sort of thing accomplished without bloodshed.

Equity has a well known meaning. It is the real value you earned in an Enterprise via cash (stocks), hard work (options), or time (vesting).
Now that meaning is still valid with most people but the Marxist have twisted it into reward. The reward is bestowed on people like a title, something we got rid of 250 years ago.

So please, let's stop saying N-Word. The Founding Fathers didn't risk their sacred honor, fortune, and lives for free speech for you to say N-Word like a damned 5 year old in kindergarten class. Stop bring a bunch of cucks.

82 Just list the people, institutions, policies, etc. that need to be reformed. And what stands in the way of getting that sort of thing accomplished without bloodshed.

I think we are watching a form of it in the Ukraine/Russia skirmish.

Two sides, one is mightier than the other but is restraining (not using nukes or the full ability to storm Kiev) the other is a grifting, thieving evil asshole that doesn't mind killing everyone Ukraine in the name of saving Ukraine so that he can enrich himself and his cronies.

Heritage Americans have the physical and moral ability to wipe out totally and completely the Philistines among us - but we don't for Reasons™ They are led by insane, self-seeking narcissists who don't mind killing everyone in order to preserve total power over smoking rubble.

Its like we have the ability to Nagasaki and Hiroshima the Left by powerful and decisive strikes against their leadership - but we refuse, and let them continue to attack us to the last man standing.

The lack of courage we have in "dropping the bomb" is what keeps Ukraine/Russia fighting and Heritage/Leftists fighting. While courage pacified Japan and saved millions of lives.

He surely is not a stateman. I don't see these words being etched on a statue of him.

It is revealing that they view governance of a population as a "game" that has to be "won" by a certain "team". It also implies that each "team" has an "owner" or consortium of "owners" who fund and manage the "team".

That there is some unspecified "refs" (I have no idea who they are unless they are Federal Judges with universal authority who can be bought and sold by various "teams")

Maybe I am reading in too much, but it explains a lot.

If the Democrats cannot pay reparations in cash, they will do everything else they can to buy black votes while pretending to be against reparations.

208 Hi Bulg!!

I like that KISS is getting honored, for two reasons.

First one is that imo are innovative artists who set trends in the genre. Maybe not as much as Black Sabbath, but still significant and impactful.

The other reason is that in reality, a Kennedy Center honor means exactly shit. No artist has a lifelong dream of a Kennedy Center honor. In doing this, if KISS is undeserving of this, it pretty much creates the image that ANYONE can get this award, merit be damned, and the arrogance of past awardees is torpedoed.

Or a little of both maybe.

AI at best is parsing good health information and returning it to you in an easier to read manner.

But if the data is bad, or it parses it in a bad manner, it will give you bad advice. So you should always *think* about what AI tells you before you go do it, and for non-obvious health things check with someone knowledgeable in the field.

If your AI health bot tells you to get more exercise and eat less crap its almost certainly right...and I notice pretty much experience with a GP ends with him telling me that...but if it tells you to take a supplement you've never heard of beware...

227 Trump having the feds take over law enforcement in DC could be brilliant, depending on execution. I've often wondered why red states don't do the same with their troublesome blue cities. The people of the state of Alabama for example should be outraged at how poorly Birmingham deals with their crime problem. In Ohio, you have serious problems in all 3 major cities, plus Akron, Youngstown and Dayton aren't great either. Make an example of one. But in Ohio at least, the R's are so squishy, I don't think the thought, if it has occurred to them, has room to grow in their tiny grifting brains. But Trump's action in DC might inspire.

At a minimum, Flynn and Navarro should get to make victim impact statements at Clapper, Brennan, Comey, Rice et al sentencing hearings.

Yeah, humans make mistakes. But, then, humans with understanding (HWU) can fix the mistake. But HWUs are expensive so the MBAs fire them. Then there's no one to fix the mistakes.

Now, everything in world is built on top of everything else in the world so, often, these mistakes aren't immediately noticeable. But they build up. Things fall apart. HWU might be able to pick up the pieces but they've all been fired, retired, died, and no new HWU have been allowed to develop to replace them because they're expensive.

Still, AI is super-awesome at some shit today.

278 Despite being solidly Red at the moment, Iowa is doing poorly economically. The Republican governor is one of the worst polling in the nation (she has chosen not to run for reelection), and Ernst isn’t looking much better. The Dems are hoping to make some surprise gains here.

If only Grassley would depart the old fashioned way. I'd consider traveling to Iowa to spit on his grave.

Iowa isn't so bright red. Wasn't that long ago it was a swing state. Voted for Obama twice, and Sen. Tom Harkin is missed!

Harkin is badly missed. He was a gem. A travesty that pig nuts Ernst holds his old seat.

Dems need to retake the house. Taking the senate would be nice, but once the house impeaches Trump again, a couple vulnerable republican senators might see the writing on the wall and decide to do the right thing this time.

Republicans in Iowa now hold a 2-1 registration advantage. Whoever wins a Dem primary needs to be able to pull in a LOT of Republican votes.

Vibe coding is stupid. If you know what you're doing then you spend more time bug fixing than you would have if you'd just written the code yourself.

OTOH, if you don't know what you're doing and you don't care about whether the product even works, then vibe coding could be enabling I suppose.

Agree entirely, and did not in any way intend to reference fortune telling. A radiologist reads a study, and misses something that the inputs into an AI system allows it to catch. Or AI comes up with a list of differential diagnoses based on its inputs. But I'm not calling that prediction.

My message is: It's NOT going away, so skeptics should at least TRY it once before pooh-poohing it. And next time you do a job interview, if they ask what you think about AI, at least have the good sense not to say: 'Ah it's a flash in the pan. Going nowhere.'

A specialist doctor denied I was safe to drive.

I was in his office Tuesday because the pills he had prescribed for me, and his actions required on fluid restriction, made me feel terrible. While seated for a BP measurement, I fainted for two minutes.

The EMTs took me to the nearby hospital ER. A trip to an IHOP would have cured me. After all the tests came back fine, and the IV gave me fluid, I was released without the new pills and with a requirement to drink more liquids.

But the School Superintendent wants that doctor's clearance. So I lost my job until I heal.

I plan to fire the Doctor, get another specialist, and resign.

Most people do not know how to respond and it breaks them out of the doom/glandular loop.

401 (PS, why do people here always try to guess what a commenter's *motives* are for writing something? Can't you evaluate a proposition without always applying ad hominem to it?)

Well, if you were a very senior software engineer who used AI extensively for your work, I would evaluate your statements one way. If you're a business major looking at a spreadsheet, I would evaluate it a different way.

Kind of like when someone says something about anything else and we try to understand what's driving their perspective. Note: I didn't start off saying that you obviously had your head up your ass, I just asked where your love of AI was coming from.

I am probably worth millions of dollars to liability lawyers. I was the only one last year to have an accident, when the cab of a semi hit right in front of me while I was stopped and unloading, with the red lights on. I had less than a second of warning to slam on the brakes. The bus did not tip over, which was when all the injuries would have occurred.

423 On December 22, 2016, Rogers wrote an email to Clapper, then-FBI Director James Comey, and then CIA Director John Brennan expressing serious concerns over the NSA’s lack of “sufficient access,” warning that NSA personnel “aren’t fully comfortable saying that they have had enough time to review all of the intelligence to be absolutely confident in their assessments.” Clapper responded, “We may have to compromise on our ‘normal’ modalities” and “more time is not negotiable.”

“The leading figures in the Russia Hoax have spent years deceiving the American public by presenting their manufactured and politicized assessments as credible intelligence. The email released today reinforces what we already exposed: the decision to compromise standards and violate protocols in the creation of the 2017 manufactured intelligence assessment was deliberate and came from the very top,” said DNI Gabbard. “Clapper’s own words confirm that complying with the order to manufacture intelligence was a ‘team sport.’”

424 From my experiences with AI models (legal and policy experiments), it is most useful when a person has a solid basis in factual knowledge and experience to know when it is peddling bullshit.

It does not make a dunce a scholar anymore than in the olden days, people had ghostwriter paper mills produce their term papers or senior thesis.

When I taught the department capstone class, the students had to present their paper in an one on one interview atmosphere after submitting it. The ones that bullshitted it by copying and pasting indicated that in a few moments by a few questions and they were graded accordingly.

426 The Pentagon has reportedly revoked the security clearance of former CIA official Susan Miller, who has appeared on an array of media outlets in recent weeks discussing her alleged role in drafting an intelligence community assessment (ICA) related to the Russia collusion hoax.

Miller claimed to have led the team that drafted the 2017 ICA that concluded the Russians interfered in the 2016 election with the aim of electing President Donald Trump. However, intelligence officials have denied her claims to have been involved in the report.

“This woman totally shouldn’t hold a high level security clearance after pushing the Russia Hoax. All she did was lie to the American people to hurt Trump,” a Department of Defense official told The Federalist.

431 Republicans are leading the charge against alcohol consumption in the US. Across the US, drinking rates have plunged to their lowest level in 90 years. Only 54 percent of adults said they had a drink last month, according to Gallup data. That's the lowest level since the polling group began collecting the figures in 1939. Only 46 percent of Republican voters reported having any alcohol in all of last year, a one third drop from 2023. By comparison Democrat drinkers only decline by five percent in the same period.

This is the first month in almost six years that the adjusted NICS numbers estimate less than one million firearm sales. The adjusted figures, as computed by the National Shooting Sports Foundation (NSSF), are almost 22,000 sales short of one million at 978,731.In July of 2024, the NSSF calculated adjusted gun sales of 1,064,791. These figures show an eight percent drop in gun sales from last July.

I don't think so. I distrust statistics from the 'net. Maybe it just means a majority of Republicans drink less than a majority of Democrats if indeed that is accurate.
