Emmy-Nominated Anchorwoman and "Journalist" Sent Email to Criminal Hubby Laughing About Defrauding the Goverment of $300,000 in PPP Loans

We are Real News, Mr. President.

A former Emmy-nominated TV news anchor convicted in a billion-dollar COVID fraud scheme sent a scandalous text to her partner in crime that joked about cheating taxpayers out of taxpayer money.

Stephanie Hockridge-Reis, who worked for a local station in Phoenix before becoming a fintech entrepreneur, sent the message to her husband, Nathan Reis, after applying for Payment Protection Program (PPP) loans during the height of the pandemic.

"This is us trying to apply for free money -- when we don't quite qualify. lol," she texted Reis, 47, according to a federal indictment obtained by The Arizona Republic.

The couple was accused of fraudulently obtaining over $300,000 in PPP loans for themselves, including one application that falsely claimed he was a veteran and an African American.

You'd think that would be enough to get the propaganda media to cover this. (This report is in Murdoch's NY Post, which doesn't count.)

Nope.

Reis took a plea deal on Monday and will be sentenced in November.

Hockridge-Reis, 42, was found guilty on one count of conspiracy to commit wire fraud in June by a jury in the Northern District of Texas. She was acquitted on four additional counts of wire fraud. Sentencing is scheduled for Oct. 10.

She faces up to 20 years in prison.

The Post has sought comment from the duo.

The couple's Scottsdale-based fintech firm, Blueacorn, which the couple co-founded in 2020, processed over $12.5 billion in PPP loans -- with somewhere between $250 million and $300 million going to the company's ownership, including Hockridge-Reis.

Blueacorn received over $1 billion in taxpayer-funded processing fees for facilitating PPP loans but spent less than 1% ($8.6 million) on fraud prevention and only $13.7 million on eligibility verification, according to a congressional investigation.

In other words: They defrauded the government of a lot more than the $300,000 in PPP loans they did not qualify for.

21 The covid scam made a lot of people insanely rich, which is a big reason why we couldn't get rid of the hysteria over covid. It was like getting rid of cockroaches being paid to infest your house.

"Processing" contracts like Blueacorn got were especially lucrative. Paid billions to do almost nothing. Another big scam was testing kits and the corresponding testing logistics.

A guy I see at car shows had a small but pretty good business doing testing-related shit. Somehow he got a contract to do that for covid. His revenues exploded something like 1000x, and he sold the company in 2022 or so for hundreds of millions of dollars.

He now has two Ferraris and four Lamborghinis.

101 From down thread.

>>Because I don't believe you can gerrymander 40% of the population so hard they only have five districts where they form the majority.

Ace, theoretically, you *can* gerrymander a state to be all one party, especially with a 20% margin (40:60) state like CA.

It would be ugly. Think of it this way, if you randomly assigned district to everyone in the state, you would expect each district to be 40/60 just like the whole state aggregate. The limitation is geography as each dem heavy city would have to be divided and diluted with R heavy rural areas. They end up looking like a group of chinese around a buffet dish, each rural county reaching into the dish to grab a morsel. This is harder for a place like NY where the dem heavy city is a salient into the Atlantic and it would have to be diluted with every inch of the north. In CA they have a bit of that with LA and SD, but but they have enough room that I am sure they can do what Noisome wants. Worst case, they do what I said at the start and just randomly assign distrcts -- I expect that will happen at some point as this gerry-war progresses.

Full disclosure of all the companies and NGOs who got benefits from the false claims, (so the government can chase them down).

Budget framework passed by GOP in March 2025 reset the baseline from the Obammy years to March 2025 and that meant that both reconciliation BBB could be passed as well as rescissions (the PBS one).

So the rest of this year has been passing committee spending bills for funding the government starting Oct. 1st. So yes, it has been a return to semi regular order. And Dems can try to shut down government Oct 1st but Trump gets to determine what is and is not a vital function that continues through the shutdown.

September is going to be a fair number of departmental spending bills for the discretionary spending of fedgov. NDAA is first (two year bill for that) and the others will be in mini omnibus spending bills.

171 The only thing I got out of the Covid scam was going to work doing 80 mph because the roads were empty and the cops didn't give a shit.

That's all you got if your job was deemed essential.

Efin' Eh Right.
I was that other guy, just out of sight on US 1 doing 80 in the 45. No one as far as you could see... But set on foot on the beach they were all over your ass.

What was funny was how they spent weeks trying to figure out how to get 'Get out of jail' papers for the few deemed essential.

Just because Iran hates them does not mean that the rest of us can't hate those sobs too. Pompeo tried to undercut US diplomacy in US-Ukraine recently and was the stumbling block all along to releasing what Tulsi finally released on Russia Russia bullshit. Snake in the grass CIA pos.

Bolton is simply a deranged peanut brain warmongerer that screwed the pooch mismanaging his little Venezuela regime change fantasy while briefly as Trump's NSA director.

Post Trump, he went cup in hand for bucks in Qatar etc.

A chickenhawk of the highest order.

That made the "we are all in this together ads" by the elites from their beachfront homes all the more special...
