Kalorama certainly thought so, when they maneuvered to get him in as their compromise candidate puppet when both their own top choice (Harris) and the Clinton's top choices (either Warren or Cuomo) and the line-holding outsider establishmentarian (Bloomberg) all imploded like dying stars.
And a few years prior, it was probably even true. But he was too far gone. Even a puppet needs some agency and ability to perform independently the right way to accomplish the mission. He didn't have it by then.

US- we suck in general because of bureaucracy and partisanship. We do color revolutions well, but that is shoveling money.

Bill was, at least for a decade, a decent politician whether you agreed with him or not, he was effective on a lot of issues and didn't turn hard left after the Dems got spanked in 1994.
But the Clintons were walking corruption from day one.
They were just really good at getting away with it because the media was in their corner.
That he made it through the Lewinsky affair with just a few nicks and bruises is testament to that.
The Bidens have gotten by on Joe's big mouth, his need for constant graft and a safe Dem seat in Delaware.

Surprisingly Portuguese Intel has long had a relationship with UK's security services and has a good rep. Canada's was poor and stayed that way. The Bulgarians under the Warsaw Pact did all the dirty work for the KGB while the DDR's Stazi was actually more subtle and effective in penetrating the West Germans. Gehlen was W. German intel and when he retired, you don't hear about much. The French fought bureaucratic wars among themselves for the last hundred or more years.
And the Poles, post WWI had a very good intel unit that gifted the Brits Enigma plus ways to crack it.

Don't get too excited.
Texas House Democrats who left the state to prevent a vote on new congressional maps will return to Texas, feeling they have accomplished their mission of killing the first special session, raising awareness and sparking national backlash about the mid-decade redistricting, multiple sources confirmed to ABC station KTRK and ABC News on Tuesday.
This special session (30 day limit) is about to expire, so there's no reason not to go home. Abbott will call another one and they will either flee again or change the play. They're also threatening to not come back if he immediately calls the next special session, though that remains to be seen.
They *could* be playing the "moral victory" card by successfully running out the first special session, or it could just be halftime. Time will tell, I suppose.

I should try ice cream, but not chocolate as that now grosses me out along with everything. I could do a lot of things. Design bikinis, but I read a woman who did this was found dead on a boat in Long Island. I have no idea what to do with my life now. Of course, if I am being honest, I wasn't doing a lot with my life with Howard.

I had to look that up. It sounded like something the Daily Mail would be all over, and it was.
Martha Nolan-O'Slatarra, 33, was found dead on a boat belonging to insurance mogul Christopher Durnan, 60. Around midnight, Duran ran down the dock, naked, screaming that Martha was passed out.

Probably a bit. Trump or his team. At the moment, Newsom is positioning himself as the DNC front-runner for '28. He's incredibly beatable and it wouldn't surprise me if Trump's people are already burning a bit of midnight oil wargaming it when there's nothing more pressing.
