Fairfax County borders on Loudoun County. The Loudoun County school system covered up not one but two sexual assaults by a "trans" student against girls. It's now being sued for $30 million for permitting girls to be raped like crazy. There is something evil in northern Virginia.The Fairfax County Public Schools system in Virginia has launched an investigation into accusations that school staff arranged abortions for students without notifying their parents, according to local reports.All of the finger-quotes for " " " investigation. " " " Mistakes were made. The policy was unclear. Let's fire the policy and keep the teachers involved in this. That's what they always say -- they refuse to fire any wrongdoers and just claim "the system," which cannot be fired and does not belong to the teachers union, is to blame.
Seems like the policy was pretty clear -- yes, school officials are ordered to help students get abortions and hide this from their parents.
School officials at Centreville High School in Union Hill allegedly arranged and bankrolled abortions for girls in 2021, including a 17-year-old, according to local news outlet WJLA. "We learned yesterday of these concerning allegations from 2021," FCPS said in a statement to the outlet on Wednesday. "We are launching an immediate and comprehensive investigation as we take all concerns of student wellbeing very seriously." Pressed on whether FCPS staff have ever arranged abortions for students, including in this case, the district said it was not aware of any instances of the sort. "Not to [our] knowledge. We have launched an immediate investigation into these concerns as soon as we were made aware," the district told WJLA. FCPS policy states that "every effort shall be made to encourage and support students suspecting pregnancy to discuss their concerns with their parents or guardians." However, it does not say FCPS employees should inform parents about those conversations.
This report makes it sound worse. It claims the school officials, including, of course, a "social worker" told students they "had to" get abortions.
According to an exclusive report from the local WC Dispatch, the allegations from two former Centreville High School students revealed that the same counselor at the school spirited away the girls to the Fairfax Healthcare Center. They allege that the school principal knew and arranged for tax money to pay for killing the babies without notifying parents. The girls were told "they had no choice" but to have the abortions. The 17-year-old girl who was five months pregnant was so frightened at the coercion that she ran away from the clinic and told a teacher. That teacher was subsequently ordered to keep quiet. The Dispatch reported how this apparent frightening and coercive abortion "pipeline" worked at Centreville High School. "A handwritten statement from [a student who went through with the abortion]...lays out how [social worker Carolina] Díaz scheduled the appointment, paid the clinic's fees, and swore her to secrecy," according to the Dispatch. It was all illegal, because "The girl, an 11th-grade ESOL student, says the abortion took place in November 2021--while she was still seventeen--making the concealment a straight-line violation of state law."

Fairfax and Loudoun collected signatures and filed recall petitions for school board members. In Virginia to recall school board, the local prosecutor has to take concerns to a judge. In Fairfax the local Soros prosecutor Descano dismissed the case. In Loudoun the Soros prosecutor was forced to recuse and tried to get it sent to another Soros prosecutor. Instead the judge picked a different prosecutor, so one school board member resigned. They used the crime of holding meeting that were non-public.

Boy, high school has changed a lot since 1982.
One of the best teen movies from that era was Last American Virgin, which depicted teen sex and tragic and a serious mistake, and abortion as a horror. The fact that it starred the adorable Diane Franklin was just a bonus, but the story is so sad its hard to see.

I was coming back from the local Lowe's after retreiving some parts they "forgot" on the tool chest I bought yesterday when, to my surprise and amusement, I spotted a Ford Galaxie 500, tricked out in police black and white, whip antenna as long as the car, and a big old red bubblegum police light on top, just west of the intersection of Rte 131 and State Rt 62 (Oak Ridge Highway).
To complete the ensemble, the vehicle had a vanity plate that said "FIFE" and a small bumper sticker that said "You gotta nip it in the bud". And a few police hats on the back shelf.

My sibling says the movie that made her pro choice was dirty dancing. The poor dancer at the elite resort, having to have a shoddy abortion because she slept with the rich ahole. And not able to dance for the summer as a result.
The lesson should be: the elite snobs that frequent the adirondacks in the summer are the real trash. It's too bad the dancer didn't feel she could raise her baby, she had to abort it instead. Because there are always options. Her botched abortion made her miss out on the whole summer season anyway. Was it worth it?
It's one of those weirdly tragic, gritty storylines in what were otherwise fluffy romcom movies in the 80s/90s.

Why should Colorado care who registers as what? They have the most openly corrupt voting system in the country. Every lawn in the State could have a MAGA yard sign and the Demscwould still sweep the elections there.

Colorado still has a balanced budget amendment, so this has forced Polis to call an emergency legislative session to increase business taxes statewide to paper over the shortfall. Those tax increases will of course be permanent and further wound CO.

Those numbers can be a bit misleading in both directions. On the one hand the name has multiple spellings (Mohammed, Muhammed, etc) so aggregating them gives you an even higher count. On the other hand it's far and away the most popular Muslim boy's name so I think you have to stack it against some aggregate of other names to get an accurate picture.
I think in the end you still end up with a very significant statistic.
