Trump Fires Bureau of Labor Statistics Chief Who Repeatedly Overestimated Job Growth Under Biden (and Right Before the Election, Too)

President Donald Trump on Friday announced that he had sacked a Biden-appointed official responsible for compiling monthly jobs statistics, asserting that she had overstated jobs growth under the last president to aid the Harris campaign and that she had wrongly revised his own jobs numbers downwards. "I was just informed that our Country's "Jobs Numbers" are being produced by a Biden Appointee, Dr. Erika McEntarfer, the Commissioner of Labor Statistics, who faked the Jobs Numbers before the Election to try and boost Kamala's chances of Victory," he posted on Truth Social. "This is the same Bureau of Labor Statistics that overstated the Jobs Growth in March 2024 by approximately 818,000 and, then again, right before the 2024 Presidential Election, in August and September, by 112,000. These were Records -- No one can be that wrong? We need accurate Jobs Numbers." "I have directed my Team to fire this Biden Political Appointee, IMMEDIATELY. She will be replaced with someone much more competent and qualified. Important numbers like this must be fair and accurate, they can't be manipulated for political purposes," he went on. "McEntarfer said there were only 73,000 Jobs added (a shock!) but, more importantly, that a major mistake was made by them, 258,000 Jobs downward, in the prior two months. Similar things happened in the first part of the year, always to the negative. The Economy is BOOMING under "TRUMP" despite a Fed that also plays games, this time with Interest Rates, where they lowered them twice, and substantially, just before the Presidential Election, I assume in the hopes of getting 'Kamala' elected -- How did that work out? Jerome "Too Late" Powell should also be put "out to pasture." Thank you for your attention to this matter!"

I empathize.
My parents told my kids (10 and 9) that I belong in prison for agreeing with Trump on several issues.
After I swore in, they didn't speak to me for years, even going to far as to reject the plane tickets the Navy offered them when I was recovering from an adventure I had while operating in the CSAR community.
Of course, now they're flabbergasted that they don't get to see their grandkids very often...

The jobs reports are gonna be weird for a while.
Immigrants leaving. The fed downsizing. Fed rates depressing hiring behavior.
Without a massive hiring explosion, we'll probably look like we're treading water for a while.
But govt numbers don't actually influence anything. People's perceptions of the economy are built on the local level, not because of what the BLS says a number is.

A true re-hydration formula contains Glucose. Not to make it sweet or more palatable. Has to do with how ions work and permeable membranes and such. I don’t claim to understand it. The WHO formula has a “recipe” for this. You can make your own sports drink for a fraction of the cost.
Sugar, Salt, Potassium in correct proportion.
“Sugar Free” just tells you the marketing department is in charge of operations, not anyone with medical expertise. I suppose it isn’t required[/ii] but it works much better.

She has adopted that northeastern lesbian episcopalian clergy look, has the demeanor of a Karen and is constantly making "I want to speak with your manager" style demands, has no obvious political principles beyond opportunism, and pretended to be an ethnic minority to obtain preferential treatment (on top of the preferential treatment she was already undoubtedly receiving as a woman in academia). She's a grifter who can't even fake enough sincerity to effectively pander. The average mannequin has more charisma.

Well, the news is EXCELLENT!!!!!
Saw the Oncological Surgeon today, and he said everything looks great. So much so, that he thinks after I get my next CT scan (late October - early November) that we will be talking about surgery to remove my tumors!
One of the satellite tumors is no longer there, and all of the rest of the tumors continue to shrink. The largest tumor is showing signs of calcification, which means that it is dying.
He said if it wasn't for the fact that my most recent CT Scan showed a couple of blood clots in my lungs - which apparently is quite common in cancer patients - that he would have been inclined to do surgery now. I am on a blood thinner to dissolve the clots; by the time of my next CT Scan, they should be gone.
So, as I said to Paul as we were getting on the elevator, "It's a good day, Tater!"
Thank you all for continuing to pray for me - they are definitely working! 😊❤️

The point is that, based on the previous data, there wasn't actually a bad jobs report.
Every time they can prop up a Dem or knock down a Rep and then 'just revise the numbers later,' they do.
Under Biden, they overcounted the number of new jobs by more than 800,000.
I don't believe there was a bad jobs report. I believe she massaged the numbers to make it LOOK that way, with the intention of correcting them in a few weeks. Like always.

The old way before Reid was that all presidential appointees had to basically get the approval of 60 plus members. Once Reid eliminated the filibuster via the nuclear option on Court of Appeals and executive appointments, then McConnell did the rest to eliminate filibusters for both. But, as a consequence, because Mitch hated Trump and the filibuster change by Reid, the Senate no longer went into recess as their filibuster threat against presidential appointees was gone.
The GOP after 2020 rarely did much if anything to stop Biden appointees so no need to recess. Mitch and his GOP caucus waved through a LOT of really bad Biden appointees from 2022-2024
Since then, Thune is confronted with a problem. At least three POS RINO types or more might vote no to recess with the Democrats to prevent Trump from making recess appointments. That is the problem--need at least 50 votes.

Hochul was an accidental DEI governor caused by Cuomo picking her as the useless Lt. Gov. The rule in politics is never put a potential rival in the seat where they benefit if you have a fall politically so Cuomo picked the most stupid and brain dead option at Lt. Gov. Then he had to resign and thus Holchul became governor.
There is a reason that Lee Zeldin came so close to knocking her off. She has the charm, grace, smarts and likability of Hillary Clinton.

The Dems are slow walking every single nominee because they are butthurt. Sen. Markwayne Mullins, I think, from OK, mentioned that some GOPers were thinking about a nuclear option to change rules on debate length,etc. to remove Democrat obstructionism on executive nominees that is simply unprecedented even from Trump's First term. But he was not sure that the RINOs would vote for such a change.

Very hard to keep any Federal Case out of DC. Remember that the Process is the Punishment; but don' t expect any actual convictions out of any of these trials. Or any jail sentences. That just isn't in the cards.
