As people noted in the last thread about Sydney Sweeney, leftists have no standards other than their own immediate gratification. If pretending to care about "sex work" gets you votes, you love sex work. If Sydney Sweeney's boobs offend your most rabid followers, you will be a sexual puritan.
So Liawatha changing her demands from month to month is just par for the course. She promised to take on the banks almost a decade and a half ago, and she's still raising money from them to this day. Posted by: the lower depths at August 04, 2025 02:50 PM (+b4rY) 12

Warren is another of many Democrat politicians whose ambitions were personally ruined by Trump. She will always be the fake Indian liar thanks to him. She will never be able to get out from under that and run for Predident again. In the end, it's her own Party that's to blame for taking his obvious bait, and amplifying her lie to ear-splitting volume.
But I'm sure she bitterly resents him for that. You rarely see a politician get ruined instantly like that. Gabbard did it to Harris, too. Massachusetts Senator Elizabeth Warren defended mayoral candidate Zohran Mamdani’s plan to tax the wealthiest New Yorkers in order to make the city more affordable for working people during a CNBC interview Monday. Journalist David Faber repeated a common talking point about wealthy New Yorkers and businesses being “chased out” of the city if they were to be taxed at a higher rate, and Warren was having none of it. Well, the news is EXCELLENT!!!!! Saw the Oncological Surgeon today, and he said everything looks great. So much so, that he thinks after I get my next CT scan (late October - early November) that we will be talking about surgery to remove my tumors! One of the satellite tumors is no longer there, and all of the rest of the tumors continue to shrink. The largest tumor is showing signs of calcification, which means that it is dying. He said if it wasn't for the fact that my most recent CT Scan showed a couple of blood clots in my lungs - which apparently is quite common in cancer patients - that he would have been inclined to do surgery now. I am on a blood thinner to dissolve the clots; by the time of my next CT Scan, they should be gone. So, as I said to Paul as we were getting on the elevator, "It's a good day, Tater!" 2 If Whig is around...
A week or two ago you posted something about Congress recessing being more difficult. Am I misremembering? And if it is more difficult, why is that? Or was it about the legality of recess appointments? I am trying to figure out why Thune did not recess. Posted by: Ann ======== The old way before Reid was that all presidential appointees had to basically get the approval of 60 plus members. Once Reid eliminated the filibuster via the nuclear option on Court of Appeals and executive appointments, then McConnell did the rest to eliminate filibusters for both. But, as a consequence, because Mitch hated Trump and the filibuster change by Reid, the Senate no longer went into recess as their filibuster threat against presidential appointees was gone. The GOP after 2020 rarely did much if anything to stop Biden appointees so no need to recess. Mitch and his GOP caucus waved through a LOT of really bad Biden appointees from 2022-2024 Since then, Thune is confronted with a problem. At least three POS RINO types or more might vote no to recess with the Democrats to prevent Trump from making recess appointments. That is the problem--need at least 50 votes. "The State Department is proposing a rule requiring some business and tourist visa applicants to post a bond of up to $15,000 to enter the United States, a step critics say could put the process out of reach for many. According to a notice set for publication on Tuesday in the Federal Register, the department plans a 12‑month pilot program targeting applicants from countries with high visa overstay rates and weak internal document security. Under the plan, applicants could be required to post bonds of $5,000, $10,000 or $15,000 when applying for a visa. The new visa bond program will take effect on August 20, according to documents reviewed by Newsweek and a notice previewed Monday on the Federal Register website. The Department of Homeland Security says the goal is to ensure the U.S. government doesn’t incur costs when a visitor violates visa terms."
