214 Got home from a lovely day.
Went to Darrington for the Jade Festival. Apparently jade is found in the PNW. Who knew? Anyhoo, talked with some amazing people who find Jade, collect it and turn it into all kinds of things. The colors are mostly dark green to a deep blue. Beautiful stones. The folks pride themselves on gathering their stones, some as big as #400! Without blasting or destroying the environment. I got a beautiful stone carved into a bowl. It’s heavier than you would think. And the color is stunning. I talked with the guy for a bit. My piece was found in the Pilchuk River. It’s extraordinary

Even better was baby Rialto. He saved my sanity during the 2016 election. His rescue story and rehab and I visited him in Vancouver, BC….. it was sweet and uplifting and I was going nuts in Seattle with all the IM WITH HER! Crap here in Seattle.

It wasn’t easy! I drove 90 miles one way to get to Darrington. It’s up in the mountains. The folks were freaking awesome! I told them I had no idea Jade was something you could find I. The mountains. I asked if some of the beautiful green smooth stones I’ve found on the beach were jade and they said “most likely YES!” It’s so cool being here.
Traffic was irritating. But that’s ok. I got a beautiful piece I will have forever. Came out of the Pilchuk river. I know he found it. So very cool.

We've had several dogs in our almost 50 years of marriage.
All were good dogs except the mean as a snake cocker and a bulldog mix who was crazed. We tried everything with bulldog, all types of training.
Finally our vet told us we had done everything for the dog and he should be put down.
It was sad, but he was batshit insane.

I think Trump's best quality is that he is 100% who he is and proud of his skin. Aggressively proud. People sense that.

The CWO IP from the transcript of the CVR that I have seen was far too deferential to PIC, calling her 'Ma'am' and making suggestions. He might as well have been David French watching his wife get pegged.
Another example of him being more an 'advisor' and not a check pilot happens just before the collision. He tells her she should drop some altitude; NTSB has found both barometric altimeters at time of impact were reading above 200ft with at least a 50ft discrepancy between them. She responds with "Uh okay fine... more to the middle."
"More to the middle" meant she was going to fly over the center of the Potomac which meant PAT25 was moving towards the flight path of the landing CRJ and away from what is defined as Route 4.
Right then and there he should have gone "Check ride over." But he didn't. And then it was too late.
The FAA got yelled at by the NTSB for ignoring the problem and transferring out anyone who protested.

You're on the right track with anti-inflammation. Two months ago, after swimming in a lagoon in Hawaii, I got on the red eye home and my thumbs oddly ached, then knees. Started as we got on the plane. Freaky. It was very weird to the point we went to the ED when we landed as I was a mess. My CRP was almost off the charts for inflammation.All other tests negative. A dose of IV Toradol and high dose Advil for a week and so far nothing. The arthritis doc said I might have had a virus, as all other tests negative. So maybe you don't have RA?

They have a pretty specific test now for RA. It's the Anti-CCP test. If you have the markers it's like 98% positive for RA. That's how they found it.

Nope! Just swam with sea turtles, fish and my grandchildren. This was super weird. I did clear the ED quickly after mentioning, as the literature in Honolulu said to do, that Zika was imported there a month prior. Even I did not think it was Zika, as I figured the local mosquitos did not have time to develop it and find me.
But I whipped out my thumbs like a loon in the ED. I am sure they thought, "psych patient" except for my records and the high CRP.

Can't...I looked it up during the plandemic. I have, on EKG, a long QT interval. I guess it impacts that. Some meds do as well and will mention it on the Rx. So I am trying to avoid cardiac events. I just took Advil, ate a lot more fruit and less crap, and am doing fine (thankfully).

I only know because I have had fairly recent EKG's for minor stuff. So I knew not to take it in 2020. The cardiologist who reads the EKG will write it out...and I can read EKG's as a former RN.
If anything weird is going to happen it generally finds me.

They have a pretty specific test now for RA. It's the Anti-CCP test. If you have the markers it's like 98% positive for RA. That's how they found it.

I was negative for all the rest of the tests. I felt pretty dang weird about my entire flight home with The Thumbs. But the pain was bad, and I have a high pain tolerance. Some swelling and stiff to the point I did not have range of motion til the next day. However I did not scream on the plane or make a complete fool of myself. But I wanted to. I did almost pass out in the parking garage, so my husband knew something was amiss. I am not a fainty person, either. So we went to the ED with The Thumbs.

Oh, it definitely is. Took me a little while to accept that 'normal ' was in the past, and that the new normal can change at any time.
Sorry about the diagnosis, but if you're willing to try different things you'll be way ahead. I'm doing both- methotrexate and hydroxychloroquine, and Phenocane for long-term pain management.
