I was epically willowed:
214 Got home from a lovely day. Went to Darrington for the Jade Festival. Apparently jade is found in the PNW. Who knew? Anyhoo, talked with some amazing people who find Jade, collect it and turn it into all kinds of things. The colors are mostly dark green to a deep blue. Beautiful stones. The folks pride themselves on gathering their stones, some as big as #400! Without blasting or destroying the environment. I got a beautiful stone carved into a bowl. It’s heavier than you would think. And the color is stunning. I talked with the guy for a bit. My piece was found in the Pilchuk River. It’s extraordinary Posted by: nurse ratched at August 01, 2025 08:02 PM (mT+6a) 3

I told them I had no idea Jade was something you could find I. The mountains. I asked if some of the beautiful green smooth stones I’ve found on the beach were jade and they said “most likely YES!” It’s so cool being here. Traffic was irritating. But that’s ok. The overall number of regular worshippers across the Church of England’s congregations grew to 1.02 million in 2024, a rise of 1.2 per cent, according to an early snapshot of the annual Statistics for Mission findings. It was the second year in a row in which the Church of England’s “worshipping community” – the combined number of regular members of local congregations – has stood above a million since the Covid-19 pandemic. The numbers in the pews on a typical Sunday [average Sunday attendance] was up by a further 1.5 per cent to 582,000 in 2024, extending rises over recent years. And overall in-person attendance across the week [average weekly attendance] edged upwards by 1.2 per cent in a year, and stood at just over 701,000 last year, according to the early figures. Insightful. Women are built to be traded to another tribe (or captured) and slide seamlessly into their new culture. That keeps them safe, even though they are physically weak. 20 years after they are captured, they are the matriarchs who enforce that culture. That is why women conform to the dominant culture, and thereby amplify that culture. IMO, that is why Western women, raised in anti-white culture, are now amplifying anti-white culture, even though they are white. They think that keeps them safe, and they are correct, but only in the sort term. In the long term, they will be forced to remember they are white. Better they are reminded of that by white men, because the alternative is not so gentle. https://youtu.be/8RS87qYgSLY?t=13 Posted by: Braenyard - some Absent Friends are more equal than others _ at August 01, 2025 09:18 PM (KY4Yu) 117

In case anyone missed it, the NTSB had a three day public meeting on the Potomac collision between PAT 25 and the CRJ airliner that resulted in deaths.
The CWO IP from the transcript of the CVR that I have seen was far too deferential to PIC, calling her 'Ma'am' and making suggestions. He might as well have been David French watching his wife get pegged. Another example of him being more an 'advisor' and not a check pilot happens just before the collision. He tells her she should drop some altitude; NTSB has found both barometric altimeters at time of impact were reading above 200ft with at least a 50ft discrepancy between them. She responds with "Uh okay fine... more to the middle." "More to the middle" meant she was going to fly over the center of the Potomac which meant PAT25 was moving towards the flight path of the landing CRJ and away from what is defined as Route 4. Right then and there he should have gone "Check ride over." But he didn't. And then it was too late. The FAA got yelled at by the NTSB for ignoring the problem and transferring out anyone who protested. Posted by: Anna Puma at August 01, 2025 09:22 PM (AKpb0) 126

Fen, my wife and I did the "Mind the pedestrian" thing, too. But one time, we were jogging together on the beach and I grabbed her arm and said, "Mind the snake!" She said, "What are you talking about?" There, about 20 feet ahead, was a six-foot water moccasin in the sand heading to the surf. We carefully went around it. On the way back, we saw that the snake had gone for a 150 yard swim in the ocean, then went back up in the dunes. The sidewinder trail was very distinct. This was in National Seashore and we didn't see a person in 12 miles of jogging. Once met a wild horse in the same area.

The U.S. government sanctions individuals and entities to deter what it considers to be dangerous behavior and to encourage changes in line with U.S. policy. Francesca Albanese, the U.N. special rapporteur for Palestinian rights who has a long history of anti-Israel remarks, told the Associated Press on July 29 that the U.S. sanctions issued against her this month are hurting her and her family.
“My daughter is American. I’ve been living in the United States, and I have some assets there. So, of course, it’s going to harm me,” Albanese told the AP. “What can I do? I did everything I did in good faith, and knowing that, my commitment to justice is more important than personal interests.” It’s very serious to be on the list of the people sanctioned by the United States,” Albanese told the wire in Rome. She said that those sanctioned, like her, “cannot have financial interactions or credit cards with any American bank,” the AP reported. === FAFO Francesca. Va bene.
