Antisemetic Terrorist Finishing School Columbia University Agrees to Pay Jewish Students $220 Million for Letting Foreign Muslim Agents Terrorize Them for a Year

The left is very, very opposed to racism, you know.

Just a couple of days ago we heard that Columbia had finally punished the foreign terrorist agitators who had taken over their library while screaming Hitlerian chants.

That wasn't their own decision -- that was part of the settlement with the Trump Administration, which actually walks the walk when it comes to shutting down racism and antisemitism.

The Trump administration has won unprecedented concessions from Columbia University in a sweeping settlement -- with the Ivy League university paying more than $220 million and pledging to reverse racially discriminatory practices and resolve civil rights violations against Jewish students, The Post can exclusively reveal.

The settlement, under which Columbia will agree to submit to independent monitoring to ensure it is complying with merit-based hiring and admissions requirements, is likely to put pressure on other schools -- like Harvard -- that have crossed the White House over tolerance of extreme Jew-hatred on campus since the Oct. 7, 2023, attack by Hamas against Israel.

The resolution comes after just four months of negotiations between Columbia and Trump, striking a stark contrast with Harvard, which decided to drag the administration into court for stripping the school of $2.6 billion in grants and other funding.

In addition to paying the feds $200 million to settle their discrimination claims, Columbia will also fork over more than $20 million to Jewish employees who were discriminated against amid fierce antisemitic demonstrations that followed the Hamas attack.

The Trump administration is touting the employees' sum as the largest public settlement of its kind in nearly 20 years and the highest for any victim who's lodged a Title VI complaint.

The Ivy League school has also agreed to end all programming that discriminated against faculty or students -- bringing it into full compliance with the Supreme Court's 2023 decision banning race-based affirmative action -- and create some yet-to-be-announced faculty positions in the name of broadening intellectual diversity.

The settlement further calls for Columbia to maintain a trained security force blocking demonstrations in academic spaces and coordinate with the NYPD to prevent a repeat of the takeover of Hamilton Hall by anti-Israel rioters in the spring of 2024 -- while the university will impose a complete ban on masked protests.

Disciplinary rules will no longer be governed by the faculty senate but, rather, by the Office of the Provost. On Tuesday, Columbia announced that dozens of students were going to be suspended or penalized -- and a handful expelled -- for a recent disruptive library demonstration and anti-Israel tent encampment that engulfed the campus last year.

The university's admissions office will step up vetting for foreign applicants, quiz potential students about their reasons for wanting to study in the US and share that data with the feds, while Columbia's reliance on international enrollment will be cut back.

As part of its participation in the federal Student and Exchange Visitor (SEVIS) Program, the school will now be expected to report any disciplinary actions for those holding visas -- including suspensions, expulsions or arrests.

Experts are also supposed to consult with administrators to prevent the threat of terrorist financing or other illicit funds flowing to the school.

Regional programs -- specifically the Center for Palestine Studies; the Institute for Israel and Jewish Studies; Middle Eastern, South Asian and African Studies; the Middle East Institute; and learning hubs in Tel Aviv, Israel, and Amman, Jordan -- will come under strict review from the senior vice provost to ensure they are "comprehensive and balanced."

Additionally, the Morningside Heights school will comply with Title IX and no longer force women to compete with biological men in sports or use their locker rooms, housing or other facilities.

Good heavens, it's a total victory on almost every point.

Trump did agree to return most of the $400 million in funding he suspended. Not loving that.

There is a hitch: William Jacobsen of Legal Insurrection declared "Columbia won -- ask any academic why." I'm sure he's referring to wiggle room in the settlement which will allow Columbia to keep breaking the law with impunity.

When he posts about this, I'll note his objections.

20 And meanwhile the number of Jewish students going to Columbia continues to decline- understandably. Why would any Jewish parent who isn't a JINO and a progressive send their kid to Columbia ( ?) and even then, if word got out that the student was a Jew who supported the existence of the state of Israel, they could be attacked while on campus even if their parents have voted for Democrats for 25 or more years and the kid is also a Democrat.

I disagree. Huge win for Trump. Most people — including all ‘academics’ — thought the lawsuit was bullshit and Columbia would easily win. How’d that work out? $220M.

There is always wiggle room in these kinds of settlements, and it’s hard to police discrimination. But the settlement includes an independent monitor. Get the right guy or gal in there, and he could cause Columbia pain for decades. Ask the left how successful they’ve been with their independent monitors over the decades.

The monitor is an easy way to go back for more money and pain if Columbia doesn’t fly right.

68 For now I'd be in the Jacobson camp. Many people watching this closely have been unexcited by this deal since it first emerged.

The real problem is the mindset of those in charge. That can't be changed in a consent decree or deal. The casual, vapid, culturally correct (for them) anti-western, anti-US, anti-Israeli mindset.

And while the anti-Jewish incitement and antics have been repulsive, the indoctrination of the young heads full of mush has been/is disastrous, and will continue, I'd bet, completely unaffected by this deal.

While wrestling is "fake" in the sense that the winners and losers are pre-determined, it requires a lot of athleticism to pull off those maneuvers. It also comes with a price on one's body.

Over a month long period, while filming The Princess Bride, Andre allegedly rang up a $40,000 bar tab at the Hyatt in London. According to an interview with Cary Elwes in Vanity Fair, Andre’s go-to order was something called an American: 40 ounces of various liquors poured into a pitcher.

He also once drank 119 beers in one night.

And I'm as sure as I can be that he's in heaven.

He gave a great sermon where he didn't back away from Calvinism, but talked about how he believed the scriptures about choice. How did he reconcile it? That wasn't up to him, that was up to God.

Great choice.

True Believers must just never think of what anything ever means.

Sanctuary city status only means that criminal aliens get preferred treatment over anyone else in the jurisdiction. This promotes lawlessness on the part of illegal aliens because they know that they can get away with a host of minor crimes which then overwhelms and depresses police into not even citing people for crimes if they're illegal.

And that's just a good thing because America is racist, or something.

Sound reasonable as far as technology time line but would require massive AI infotainment investment in servers etc. I am not sure that current entertainment companies have that money for the transition right now.

Yes but it's not even the oils. It's the rapid rise nature of the yeast making bread little better than a fancy box of stripped down flour with air in it.

One of the main ingredients in bread is time but companies stripped that out because time is money.

Pro Wrestling is not fake - it is choreographed. There is no way to "fake" a 300 lb guy jumping off the top rope. If the support at the end of that maneuver is missed, gravity and inertia result in a disastrous outcome. It is not surprising that pro wrestlers get injured quite often. Is a play choreographed? Sure it is. So are all movies, its the basis of almost all entertainment.

One of the things that I am wondering about is whether MIM was involved as it sometimes has uneven wearing versus the traditional forged parts. The very process of forging tends to break inferior parts while MIM can slide by. Smith and Wesson had that problem in the later 90's with their revolvers--the MIM process resulted in a lot of parts breakage albeit just made the weapons unusable, not unsafe.

If sears and or safety engagement surfaces made through MIM processes are involved, it is possible that the relatively thin heat treated layer is either wearing through prematurely or there are some parts that break down internally from mfg quality issues. I think Smith had both of those issues with their MIM parts back then.

Than I saw there was a documentary. I watched it, and was sad at how badly the gladiators were treated. They were making union minimum with zero health insurance or any real injury protection. Gold (Tonya Knight) badly twisted her knee. They got rid of her and didn't help her with medical bills.

At a later point I was looking at what happened to some of the other gladiators. I ran across an article about Siren (Shelley Beattie). The poor soul hanged herself, lingered for three days in a coma, and died.

I can see AI being used heavily in the arts simply because mistakes matter much less. Such as an actor forgets their lines in a play--no biggie. If a pilot forgets to set his landing gear down before landing-biggie. Same would go with AI. Easier to use on music and static art first as both follow relatively computationally simple algorithms to generate. Video, a bit more complex, but doable. Same with drafting screenplays, turning existing comic strips like Calvin and Hobbs into moving, talking, animated shorts, and so on.

Flying a plane, driving a car or truck, running your power grid, diagnosing your illness--AI is much less desirable because the stakes are so large if it makes a mistake.

333 Just because we can imagine a technology doesn't mean it will exist in the future.

We were supposed to have Mr. Fusion by now.

334 whig, there's been some fusion.

Castle Bravo is my favorite example.

335 331-Maybe because scarcely anyone remembers a minor role in a decades-old sitcom that they never watched?

Did The Cosby Show not air in Canada? Theo was definitely not a minor character and everyone watched it.

337 The fact that AI is STILL hallucinating primary sources, quotes, and information in general tells me that current AI is either designed to be dishonest and can't get better or the architecture is not getting any better.

I think it'll take an all new approach to AI before we get anything like we imagined AI to be.

Not really. They say that the algorithm of an LLM is trying "to predict the next word".

I think that algorithm puts less weight on verifying how it corresponds to reality. It probably does not yet know how to coordinate both activities.

But they're making awesome pictures!

338 Speaking of tolls, the PA Turnpike is completely automated now. If you don't have an EZ-Pass, you just drive through the tollbooth, it takes a picture of your license plate, and then you get a bill in the mail a little while later.

I see an emerging market for license plate spoofers.

339 Hope this makes sense (cell phone).

The issue with the M-18 is the same as with the P-320s that have gone off in the holsters of civilian LEOs; the Sergeant's M-18 was full magazine, chamber loaded, and manual safety engaged. The problem is (apparently) with internal parts allowing the striker/firing pin to hit the primer and firing the weapon regardless of trigger (non) manipulation or safety use.
